So be it. A prisoner has no right to betray orders. His own body, segmented and bifurcated as a symbol for his own determination to win this conflict, was a visual reminder of such. Robots cannot feel the basics of human emotion, and it was in-part the exact reason Warden had bequeathed the prison to him. Modeled in the Wardens image, in whom had been overcome by age and tempered by his own handling of rebellions, old wounds roused and thus Drude was born. The Lichtenberg figures swathed over his face from his own handling of a frustrating rebel was a sign of that.
Drude wonders, in all the whirring of his fans jolting to life, if he was to receive his marks as well.
“Drude,” a faint voice murmurs. Tempered. Calm. It stutters, moreso a Dr-uu-uuuu-uu-ude. The artificial interference of buzzes and beeps covers it. Frustration, though he is not meant to feel it, unfurls in his chest. Motionless, unable to do so much as twitch a finger.
They must have hit him hard, because Drude knows he isn’t supposed to feel a thing. At all.
After the rebels are captured, Warden makes some overdue repairs on Drude.
