Chris's bright cackle echoed through the house from the other room as Eddie rummaged through the fridge. He knew that he still had another can of the soda that Chris was drinking right now, but it was apparently hiding at the back of the shelf. He also snatched up two beers for him and Buck. The coffee table was already loaded with snacks since their original plan had been to watch a couple of movies with Chris, but that had fallen through when his boys had gotten distracted watching a video on some app and then wanted to try and recreate it or something with the game they were currently playing.
Honestly, it was pretty cute of them, especially when he walked back into the living room and Buck was sprawled out on the floor, the picture of defeat, as Chris cheered next to him, heckling him good-naturedly. Buck's character was in the process of respawning while Chris's was cheering, obviously having passed the finish line. A fond smile flew across his face as he placed the soda by his son and one of the beers by his partner before he took a seat on the couch with a couple of his favorite cookies from the stash of snacks sitting out.
“I demand a rematch!” Buck exclaimed, obviously happy for all that he was obviously going for offended. It was probably just to wind Chris up or draw some more laughs from the boy, which it definitely did.
A couple of hours later, after getting Chris to bed, Eddie fell back on the couch and settled comfortably with the remote, flipping through the Netflix list for a movie to watch. Buck joined him not long after with another beer and damp hair, having taken a quick shower and changed into what he considered sleepwear. He finally settled on one and started it, turning on the couch so that it was more comfortable for Buck to slide across and use his chest as a pillow.
