“What’s– what’s wrong with Eddie?” Buck all but collapses next to Eddie, voice panicked. Blinking down at the floor, Eddie can see Buck’s hands hover in front of him, like he’s scared to touch him.
“I— I don’t know,” Chim stutters, misery plain in his voice. “I think I broke him.”
“What did you say to him?”
“I, uh— may have told him you were grievously injured. But I was just—“
“You what?”
“Listen, it was a tense situation–”
“Jesus, just– go,” Buck says. Pleads, almost. “Go, I’ve– I’ve got this. Please.”
Or: Eddie and Buck stop speaking entirely. Chim intervenes.

He was still holding the clipboard with the chores he was supposed to be doing in his now shaking hands and taking a deep breath before turning around.
„I‘ll get back to work. Sorry about the interruption, “ he quickly rasped out before hurrying away.
Buck bit his lip so hard he could taste blood but he couldn‘t break down. Not here. Not now.
He didn’t want to give Bobby yet another reason to decide that he wasn‘t ready to be back, that he was just a liability, that he needed to be benched even longer.
OR
The Buckley parents are coming for a visit but Buck refuses to meet them. They corner him in the firehouse.

Summary
“Why were you late?,” Eddie asks suddenly.
Buck looks quickly to his side, clicking his seatbelt into place. Eddie is suspicious. “Traffic.”
Chris snorts, “does traffic have a name?”
Buck turns his face to the backseat in disbelief. He turns red without meaning to, and he can see Eddie’s eyes narrowing.
“What do you mean?”
“Buck! I’m not a kid. I know what a hickey looks like,” and there’s a very judgmental finger pointed to his neck.

“I knew you were the worst, but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt for Eddie.” Buck points a shaking finger at him, barely paying attention to anything around him, “You’re supposed to be his friend, what this wrong with you!”
“Look just—“ Bucks barely listening to Tommy as he tries to talk again
“Sweetheart.” Eddie's voice calls out and Buck whips around and sees him standing there, looking exhausted in clothes that definitely are from yesterday and his face crumples.
