“Lady Jinx… you’re…” Lux tried to speak, but her words tangled with her thoughts.
She backed away once more—only to find herself pressed against the alley wall.
Jinx stopped just before her, close enough for Lux to feel the whisper of her breath.
“I’m what?” she murmured. “Frightening? Or…”
She leaned in, lips ghosting beside Lux’s ear.
“Arousing?”
The words struck like lightning. Lux's entire body flushed with warmth. Her breath caught in her throat. She shut her eyes tightly.
Jinx’s arms came to rest on either side of her, caging her in. Her voice dropped to a whisper, its tone almost reverent.
“Tell me, Luxanna…” she breathed, “do you want me to eat you?”
