Summary:

Millie Parfait realizes that she actually has feelings for Yu Q. Wilson and that her jokes might not just be jokes anymore.

Or

Yu Q. Wilson feels that Millie Parfait changed and she doesn't banter with him as much. It doesn't help with the fact that he sees how happy Millie looked when she was with Shu and Claude. He swears he's not jealous... or that's what he thinks.

Notes:

This story was first meant to be written in Filipino, but I had a hard time doing it... I ended up using google translation because I got too tired to manually translate the original story into English. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

It was already quite late and Millie had just ended her stream so she decided to lay down before she eats her dinner. She just had a collab with some NIJISANJI EN livers playing R.E.P.O. While laying down, she got a ping on Discord from Enna.

Enna
They’re thinking of doing an off-collab at Wilson’s place
Wanna go?

Millie
Oohhh
I’ll think about it

Enna
Okay
I’ll tell them about it

She turned her phone off and stood up. She wanted to go to the off-collab since she will be able to hang out with the rest of the livers. But there was something that was stopping her from doing it.

Yu Q. Wilson.

It all started as a joke. To piss him off. She didn’t know when it started, but now, her feelings for Wilson don't seem like a joke anymore. Slowly but surely, her feelings for him are starting to deepen even.

Wilson was part of the R.E.P.O. collab earlier. Millie didn't know how to interact with him, but she decided to act like the way she usually does, so that she wouldn’t be teased by the others about why she had started to treat the man differently.

With a sigh, she grabbed her phone again and messaged Enna.

*Millie*
I'll go. Text me the details.

----skip----

When they arrived at Wilson’s place, they had already set up the stream. Millie took a seat next to Enna and they happily talked to each other as they waited for the collab to start.

Then, from the corner of her eyes, she sees Wilson sit beside him. Before Wilson could even take a seat, she turned to Enna and practically begged her to switch seats with her, claiming she wanted to sit next to Shu. But Enna just ignored her, saying she didn’t want to sit beside Wilson.

This is how she ended up in this situation. Beside Wilson. They had just started the stream for their off-collab, but they happened to come across a few issues from the beginning.

They were all trying to figure out what was wrong. Their set up was a mess since they were sharing microphones with each other. After a couple of minutes, they found the root of the problem and started the collab.

The collab went smoothly. They were happily playing the game which made the viewers watching laugh and smile with them. Millie found the game so enjoyable that she forgot what she was stressing about earlier. She didn’t even think about Wilson that much while they were playing.

After that, they decided to go outside and eat. They went to a nearby mall and ate at a Japanese restaurant. They all shared about their schedules and what they have been up to.

Millie couldn’t eat properly. For some reason, she ended up beside Wilson again. She couldn’t even look at the direction where Wilson was, so she was looking at the other side of the table the whole time.

After dinner, they then went to an arcade where they played for a long time. Millie was able to enjoy most of her time there since she did not need to be close to Wilson all the time.

On the other hand, Wilson was with Shu. They were playing with the claw machine that had cat plushies. "Why the heck is this so hard to get?" Wilson sighed, frustration visibly seen on his face.

Shu laughed at him, "Why are you even trying hard to get that plushie?"

Wilson paused. Why was he even doing it? I mean, just because he saw Millie attempting to play the claw machine, doesn’t mean anything at all. Right…?

"Huh? It's not like I'm trying to get it because someone wanted it. No no no..." Wilson replied, visibly panicked.

Shu raised an eyebrow at him, "I never said anything about that. Unless you're just trying to prove my point that you're trying to get that plushie for..." before he continued, he looked left and right and whispered, "Millie."

Wilson pushed him aside, nervously laughing as he waved his hands frantically. "No no no." He denied, while stepping back from the machine. "Why would you even say that?"

In all honesty, he himself did not know what he was trying to get with trying so hard playing the damn claw machine. There was no reason for him to do it. He doesn't even think that the plushie was cute.

He stares at Millie talking to Shu. They were laughing at something stupid. He didn't know if he should approach them or what. He feared that if he walked closer to them, Millie would stop talking and completely avoid him.

He decided to watch them from afar. Seeing Millie look so happy smiling and laughing made him happy. Every time he was near the witch, she wouldn’t even try to strike a conversation with him.

He sensed something wrong with the witch, as if she was trying her best to stay far from him. This has been on his mind for a long time, but he never questioned it.

Before their stream started earlier, he tried to talk to Millie, only to receive a cold response from her. She was so minimal with her words. Her words carried no emotion as if she was trying to show no interest in talking to him. He also noticed this when they were at the restaurant. Millie was only looking at the opposite side of where he was.

Wilson found this situation weird, but he paid no mind to it. It's not like he's affected by the sudden change in the witch's behaviour. Right?

Wrong. He is so wrong.

Looking at the two, he felt something in him that he couldn’t understand. He decided to walk away. Passing by the claw machine where he was earlier. He stopped. Turned around. Walked to the claw machine and sighed.

"This is the last time..."

The day soon ended. They all said their goodbyes and everyone went home. Well... except for Millie who had already left a few hours before the rest did. Claiming she had other things she needed to do.

Millie stepped into her home and kicked her shoe away. She went inside her room and placed her stuff down before she plopped down on her bed.

There was a good amount of silence before it was interrupted by her phone. She got up and rummaged through her bags and took her phone out.

Wilson
Did you get home safely?
We're still at the mall, but I think we're almost done.

Millie
I'm home.
Have fun and thank you for today.

Wilson
Okay.
I'll tell them about it.
Have a nice rest!

Millie didn't respond and just left the man on read.

----A few days after----

Some NIJISANJI EN talents were in Canada for a vacation, so they decided to meet up for dinner. They decided to have barbecue, so they chose a Korean restaurant.

Millie was aware of this meet up. But she decided that she will not show up. She had already informed the others about her not going, saying that she had other stuff she needed to finish. It was all a lie. She just didn’t want to be in the same room as Wilson.

These past few days, the other livers had noticed the change in Millie’s behaviour. They couldn't really point it out since they had no idea what was causing this sudden change.

Millie wanted to join them. But she couldn’t bring herself to do so because she didn’t want to see Wilson. Even seeing his name on social media makes her miserable.

In her mind, Wilson probably feels uncomfortable around her when they have a collab. Maybe it's because of the viewer's possible response, but Wilson is making sure that his viewers don’t get the wrong idea about his relationship with his friends.

Wilson is very clear about his rules with his fans. He is quick to point it out when he doesn’t like something. Especially when it comes to his viewers.

Enna and Millie tease Wilson, and even other livers for fun. In order to bring life to the conversation. They don’t want people to take their teasing in the wrong way.

Millie thinks that she is the reason why Wilson keeps getting nasty comments from other people. That Wilson shouldn’t be doing collaboration with other livers.

Millie makes the most out of the world comments. That’s why she thinks that Wilson doesn’t like this attitude of hers.

She doesn’t want Wilson to feel uncomfortable around her, so she decided to put a distance between them. She also doesn’t want to hurt her own feelings.

She feels that Wilson doesn’t feel the same way that she does. She firmly believes that Wilson thinks of her as a friend and nothing more. Because that is what Wilson described their relationship to be. Friends.

Millie busied herself with work. She’s at her humble home, on the living room floor, typing away on her laptop that was placed on her lap. Suddenly, her phone rang. She grabbed her phone and checked the caller id before answering.

"Hello, babu. Are you still busy?" Enna, asked.

"Not really..." Millie replied. Wrong answer.

"Okay great! Claude will pick you up at your place at 4 p.m. I would have gone to your place so we can go together, but I'm at the mall right now."

"Wait what? Go where?"

"To the restaurant... The others are coming also. Okay, I have to go now. See you later!"

Millie checked the date on her phone, that’s when she knew she messed up. She didn’t even get the chance to say no. She could only sigh as she checked the time on her phone and rushed to her room.

She doesn’t have enough time to get ready, but it seems like Claude was already on his way to her apartment when she received a text from him. She decided to wear something casual since she was running out of time.

Her doorbell rang and she rushed to grab her shoes and a bag. "Hold on! I'm almost done!"

After checking to see if she had everything she needed, she opened the door to be greeted by Claude.

"Finally. Took you long enough." Claude said, laughing when Millie lightly slapped his shoulder.

"I didn't exactly agree to this." Millie replied, as they walked out of the apartment building.

"Yeah, I didn't think you would come. Enna suddenly texted me telling me to pick you up."

"Accidentally slipped."

"What do you mean?" Claude asked, as he opened the door of the car for Millie.

"Thanks." Millie said, as she got in the car. She waited for Claude to come in before she answered his question, "I was so out of it, that I forgot the dinner was today, so I told her I wasn't busy."

Claude started the car, and looked at her, "So you lied when you said you had other things to work on?"

Millie looked at him and nodded.

"Why would you lie though?" Claude asked, as he began driving.

"Well... it's not exactly a lie... I did have some things that needed to be done." Millie replied, earning a look from Claude. The man raised his eyebrow at her, making her purse her lips before saying,"I don't want to talk about it."

Claude didn’t push the questions and continued on driving. After a few minutes, they arrived at the restaurant where the others were already waiting.

The two stepped out of the car, but before they could walk closer to the others, Claude stopped Millie which made her look back at him.

"Whatever is bugging your mind, you can tell me. If not me, then everyone here is ready to lend an ear." Claude assured her which made her smile.

"Thank you, Claude. Let's go." Millie nodded.

Wilson was surprised to see Millie. Not to mention, she was with Claude. He saw the whole interaction between the two. How Claude stopped her from walking, how she smiled after Claude said something, and how he put his arm around her shoulders as they walked closer to them, smiling like a bunch of idiots. Wait. What?

Was Wilson… jealous? No way. Or maybe…

"You guys took so long. We're all hungry." Elira said.

Claude just chuckled and said, "This witch took too long to get ready."

"Hey! I did not. Or maybe... So what if I did?" Millie replied.

"Whatever, let's just go in." Wilson interrupted them. Wilson went inside first, pulling Vanta by his side.

When they all went inside the restaurant, Wilson sat on the very end of the table. When he saw Millie enter, they made eye contact and he offered the seat next to him.

Before Millie could respond to the male, Claude pulled her to the other end of the table, "Let's sit over there. There's still space." Said Claude. When he said that, Millie couldn’t refuse and decided to just follow him. Following Claude meant not having to talk to Wilson. That worked in her favor.

Wilson's eyes followed the two. The whole time that they were eating and talking, he was looking at the two. He could see how Millie smiled at what Claude was saying.

Vanta, who was on the opposite side, looked up to see Wilson staring intensely at something which also made him look. When he noticed where the man was staring, he laughed.

Wilson, snapped out of his thoughts, looked at the guy infront of him. "What's so funny?"

"You're staring too much. Jealous?" Vanta whispered the last part.

Wilson kicked him from under the table which made the latter wince in pain. Everyone whipped their heads to look at them. “Don't worry. He's fine. Right?"

"Yeah, whatever." Vanta replied.

The rest continued eating and chatting. While Claude was talking to Elira, Millie took this opportunity to leave the room. She left the restaurant first to escape the noise of her friends.

Wilson noticed that Millie went out, so he decided to follow her after a few minutes. After he escaped Vanta’s eyes, he immediately took the chance to leave the restaurant and look for Millie

Once he went out, he noticed the witch sitting on the ground looking at her phone.

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked.

Millie was surprised to see him. She looked at him before looking back at her phone, “Just tired.” She replied.

“I can take you home.” Wilson said.

“What about the others?”

“I think they'll understand. I'll go grab my stuff, and we can go.”

Before Millie could even react, Wilson already went back inside. She paced back and forth as she waited for him.

After some time, Wilson came back out. He even had Millie’s bag with him. Millie was about to reach for her bag when Wilson said, “It's fine, I'll carry it for you.”

Millie only smiled. They walked side by side. A very awkward silence. Wilson had already booked an uber for them, so they waited in silence.

The uber arrived, and not a single word was said between the two of them. Even the uber driver could sense the awkwardness. Shortly, they arrived at Millie's apartment.

“You should go inside now.” Wilson said.

Millie thought for a moment before saying, “Do you… want to come inside for a moment?”

“Are you sure?”

Millie nodded. Wilson let her lead the way inside. Again. Not a single word was heard.

When Millie opened the door to her apartment, she invited Wilson in and had him sit in her living room. “Do you want anything to drink?”

“Water is fine.” Wilson replied. Millie smiled and grabbed 2 glasses from the cupboard and filled it with water. After that, she went back into the living room and handed Wilson the other cup.

Their hands lightly touched which made Millie pause before pulling her hand away. Wrong move. Wilson spilled the content of the glass she had given him because she suddenly let go of the glass.

Millie placed the other cup that she was holding on the coffee table and hurriedly grabbed tissues, “I am so sorry!” She said, as she grabbed tissues and helped Wilson wipe off the liquid.

“It's fine, really.” Wilson reassured her. He grabbed her hands, and took the tissues she was holding, “Can you show me to the bathroom?”

Millie's heart skipped a beat. She didn’t realize that their faces were so close to each other, “W-what? Oh… Yeah. Of course.” Millie replied as she pulled away.

While Wilson was in the bathroom, Millie went into her bedroom and looked for clothes that she Wilson could fit into.

Once she was done, she went back to Wilson who was still in the bathroom and knocked on the door, "Are you done? I found a hoodie for you to wear." Millie said.

Wilson opened the door and took the hoodie that was in Millie's hands, "Thanks." He replied, before closing the door again rather quick.

Millie went back to the living room to clean up the rest of the mess. She noticed that some of Wilson's other stuff got wet so she picked it up and placed it on top of the table. She placed the paper on the very edge, where it fell making the stuff inside it fall to the ground.

"Huh?"

Millie picked it up and looked at it very closely. It was a cat stuffed toy. The one that she tried to get from the stupid claw machine when they were hanging out a while ago.

Why did Wilson have that?

"I'm done changing. I placed my clothes on top of the sink for now. I hope you don’t… mind.”

Millie and Wilson locked eyes for a moment before Wilson darted and grabbed the plushie out of Millie’s hands, hiding it behind him.

“There’s no use hiding it. I saw it already.” Millie said.

“Oh…” Wilson replied, grabbing the bag and placing the stuffed toy inside.

“Why… why do you have that?” Millie asked.

“This? Oh. I… I wan-... I wanted to…”

“I didn’t quite catch that.”

“Iwantedtogiveittoyou.”

Millie stared at him in shock. “W-why?”

Wilson sighed and handed the bag to Millie. “I saw you trying so hard to get one… so I decided to try it out…”

“Then why are you giving it to me?”

“Didn’t you want it?” Wilson asked.

“I mean yeah… I do. Thanks...”

The two of them stayed silent. Millie was indeed happy about the gift. But she’s very confused about the intention. She doesn’t want to assume anything about Wilson’s action so she decided to stay silent.

Wilson saw the look on the witch’s face. “Are you okay?” He asked.

“I’m good… It’s getting late. You should go.” Millie said, placing the bag on the table and going to the bathroom.

Wilson’s eyes followed her. He stayed where he was before she left and waited for her to come back. When Millie came back, she had a small paper bag with her, where she placed Wilson’s wet clothes.

“I’ll lead you to the d-” Before Millie could finish, Wilson grabbed her arm.

“Did I do something wrong?” He said.

Millie was taken aback by what he said. "What made you say that?"

"You've been off lately. I've noticed it. Everyone has." Wilson replied. Millie looked at him, blinking several times before burying her face into her hands, "You've been distant from me, Millie."

"It's not like that, Wilson. Look. I'm sorry if I ever offended you. You did nothing wrong." She replied.

“Then why have you been avoiding me?”

“Because…” Millie paused, unsure whether or not she should say it. She sighed , stepping back a few steps away from him, and looked at the ground, “Because I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable.”

“Huh?”

“I should have been more careful with how I was with you. You were clearly uncomfortable with my jokes and banter, that’s why I decided to avoid you… and…”

“Millie… It’s true you say the most insane things at times, but it never bothered me. You’re my friend, Millie. If I did feel uncomfortable, I’ll tell you right away.”

“That’s it… That’s the main reason I needed to avoid you…” Millie said, her voice was low.

“What do you mean?”

“I’m nothing more than a friend to you. Just a friend. I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable in any way because… I… I like you, Wilson. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want our relationship to change and I-”

“You like me?” Wilson asked, walking closer to Millie. They locked eyes and Wilson could see that there were tears forming in her eyes that were threatening to fall so he pulled her in a hug, “You’re an idiot.”

Millie paused. She could hear her own heart beating so fast. In the end, she lets him wrap his arms around her. Then, she reciprocates the action and wraps her arm around Wilson tightly. As if telling the man not to let go of her. They stayed like that for a few minutes. In each other's arms.

After some time, Wilson began to talk, “I’ve been thinking about my own feelings. Ever since I saw you with Shu when we were at the arcade, I wanted to make you smile like that. I wanted to see the same smile you wore when you were laughing and talking with Claude. Heck, I’ll admit it. I was jealous seeing you happy when you were with them.” Millie pulled away after hearing this. She looked at him, and tilted her head, “I realized it after a while. I like you, Millie.”

Millie’s eyes widened. She took this as an initiative and pulled Wilson in for a kiss. Wilson was surprised, nonetheless, he settled his hands on her waist pulling her closer.

They pulled away slowly, holding each other’s hands, feeling each other's presence, faces red from their previous actions.

"S-so..." Millie stepped back a bit, looking down.

"Why are you acting all shy?" Wilson laughed which made Millie hit his chest lightly.

"I'm not! I'm just... shocked."

"I'm the one who's shocked. You're the one who suddenly pulled me in for a kiss."

"Oh shut up, will you?" Millie huffed, "So... what are we?"

Wilson smiled and took one of her hand and held it with both of his, "Millie Parfait. The Witch of Calamity. Will you let me be your boyfriend? If not, will you let me court you?"

Millie smiled widely, "Yes. I'll be your girlfriend."

In that moment, Wilson hugged Millie tightly almost not wanting to let her go.

After some time, they began to feel more comfortable and shared their thoughts to each other. They sat on Millie's couch cuddled up as they talked. All of their worries vanished and they began to clear up the misunderstandings and the little things bugging their mind.

"It's getting late. I should probably head home." Wilson began, as he stood up starting to prepare his things to leave.

"You can stay." Millie offered, "Plus, I don't mind the company."

"Are you sure?" Wilson asked.

"I'm sure." Millie nodded.

Soon, they then got ready for bed. Wilson's wet clothing from earlier was left to try on a drying rack in the living room. The small cat plushie Wilson gifted Millie was now placed on Millie's bed alongside her other plushies.

They're curled up on the bed, a thick blanket covering their bodies. She rested her head on his chest, while his hands were wrapped around her body protectively. They didn't utter a single word. Letting sleep take over their system as they drifted off to dreamland in each other's arms.

---Skip---

The following morning came by. The room was softly lit from the faint light coming from the window. The room was silent. Their breaths were slow and steady as if they had nothing to worry about.

Outside, birds are chirping as if they were creating music of nature. Outside of Millie's doorstep, is a blue songbird who is impatiently knocking on her door.

"Millie! Are you in there?" Enna asked. Seeing that no one has answered her for the past few minutes, she fished out a key from her bag, "I don't care if you're naked or what, I'm coming in!"

The couple was sound asleep. They were not even in the slightest bothered by the forceful opening of the bedroom door and the loud gasps Enna released when she saw what she saw.

"That's why they left early. Blackmail material." Enna said, before pulling her phone out and taking a picture of the two, "and sent."

After that, Enna slowly creeped up on the two, holding the blanket that was tightly wrapped around their bodies and pulled it.

The two sat up from the shock. Mind still fogged with sleep, Wilson groggily looked at Millie before looking in front to see Enna standing there with her arms crossed. His eyes widened, and he accidentally tripped when he tried to stand up, making him fall to the ground.

"What the heck are you doing? You don't have to hide anything. You've been caught." Enna smirked.

"H-hey..." Wilson stammered.

"Oh gosh..." Millie whispered, burying her face in her hands.

Before another word could be said, Wilson's phone started to ring. Wilson stood up and grabbed his phone.

"Hey Vanta, what's up?"

"Check discord, loveryboy." Vanta snickered.

"What?"

Wilson then did as he was told and checked Discord. When he checked, his eyes landed on Enna who had a smug look on her face.

"What the fuck?"

"Try checking on X. Who knows? Someone might have uploaded it there already." Enna provoked.

Wilson immediately checks it out. He looked up from his phone and said, "You better run."

Enna and Wilson began chasing after each other which made Millie confused. She grabbed her phone from her nightstand and opened X to see a picture of her and Wilson that was taken while they were sleeping.

"ENNA WHAT THE FUCK!"
