Chapter Text

“Oh mighty vampire king!” Dazai shouted, at this point he’d been walking around the area all day for nothing. “Hello!!!!” Dazai whined.

“Damnit if that brat doesn’t show up soon,” dazai thought aloud. He’d planned to walk around till he was tired so the vampire would come to attack him since he didn’t seem like to overly reckless type dispute rumors of wild behavior. But it had been forever and the idea crossed his mind, what if the one he was looking for wasn’t even there? I mean vampires normally don’t stay in one place for too long.

“Ughhh.” Dazai was about to give up. Why did mori have to send him on this mission anyways? He thought. Cuz’ like, if the so called great vampire “king” of the area really was as dangerous as people said he was, why was only Dazai sent out on this mission? Surely not because he had that much faith in him. He sighed and began to turn around and head back to the mafia stopping halfway on the path to the exit.

“Well well well,” he sounded like a mother scolding her child. “Look who finally showed up.” Dazai said. Surprising the vampire behind him.

“No one’s ever caught on to one of my sneak attacks before.”

“Well too bad I did, and honestly your sneak attack wasn’t that impressive, your movements, angle of attack and state you’d attack me in I had well already known after all. I could hear it, predict it from a mile away.”

“But- earlier you were thinking-“

“Planned for you to read my thoughts as well.”

“Damn you.”

“You’re really short for a “vampire king” you know.”

“Why you-“ he swung a fist at the bandaged brats face and missed. “I’m not short, and I’m not a king either.” He yelled.

“Short king.” Dazai stuck out his tongue ignoring what the ginger vampire had just said to him. “I'll kill you." He said. “You’d do that for me??!!” Dazai exclaimed. “I can’t tell if you joking or not.” The vampire replied as he ran towards dazai the split second he was distracted.

He uppercutted his jaw with his left leg and while he was falling over pushed his foot atop of his face. He grabbed his right arm tightly in his hand and shoved his fangs into the bandaged kids arm.

Dazai screamed in pain, something he usually wouldn’t do unless he was caught off guard.

“OW! That hurts you know!” He shouted.

The vampire wasn’t paying attention though he was more focused on the fact that despite dazai was annoying as shit he actually tasted pretty good, this intrigued his because he’d initially thought the opposite when he bit his hand on a reflex just a few seconds earlier.

A little too good.

His head started to spin, his world blurring. “Did you Posion yourself or something?” He asked.

“No?” Dazai replied just as confused. He felt weird but he wouldn’t say it outright, he felt as if something were crawling inside of his skin, something replacing his life with its own.

He shook the feeling away and pulled out a gun. “Okay I’m bored.”

“You seriously had that the whole time and never thought to use it?” The vampire asked.

“Well I mean i did but you know I’ve never been bit by a vampire before, thought it’d be a fun experience, and I thought you were going to kill me. So I must say I’m disappointed.” Dazai replied.

“You’re weird braces.”

“Your weirder freckles, since when did vampire have those anyways? And two different eye colors?”

They stared at each other for a moment.

Dazai shot.

“OW!” The shorter one yelled.

“FUCK.” Dazai shouted.

“Why are you screaming?” The vampire asked as he regenerated.

“dunno.” Dazai replied confusingly.

The freckled ones eyes travelled the others searching them with interest and in his thoughts began to remember something he’d learned once before, about vampires and human kind, about connections.

“OH FUCK.” He yelled as he slowly began to panic, hands running through his hair with fear and disregard. He ran as fast as he could away from the situation after that, at a speed he’d never run before. Dazai could never hope to catch up.

“Well that was weird.” He said as he stood himself up, he put away his gun and looked at his arm. “Good thing I carry a few extra bandages around with me.” He unwrapped the bloodied one on his bitten arm and carefully replace it with the one over his eye. “Well then I should be-“

thump.

He passed out.

…………………………

“Yawn~”

“Good morning Dazai.” Mori spoke. Dazai was sitting on a lounge couch, over him a soft blue blanket, most of his bandages were removed expect the ones he needed on his hand and pills and a thermometer sat next to him on the bedside table.

“Hello..” dazai replied he placed a hand over his head and sat up before falling back over.

“I assume you know why you’re here.” Mori said.

“I passed out didn’t I?” Dazai replied.

Mori nodded before adding “For a whole day actually, almost two. I patched up the bite on your hand.”

“Bite?” He asked, he looked down at his right hand.

Oh damn,

“Mmmm…” he mumbled to himself.

“It was quite strange. You’ve been bitten and yet show no signs whatsoever of becoming a vampire or vampire spawn. And you’re not seriously hurt either.” Mori said.

“Mhmmm.” Dazai muttered once more as he turned over. He felt like he would die at any second and had a horrible headache.

That’s stupid. What!?? ~~

A voice said, it rang through his mind like the screeching of metal.

“Ahhh.” Dazai put his hands over his head trying to listen to what else it had to say but it slowly disappeared after that.

“Are you okay?” Mori asked with some concern.

“Fu fu.” Dazai laughed to himself. “I’m going to sleep.” He said.

“Do what you please. You still have work tomorrow Dazai, we’ve got a vampire on the loose after all.”

Dazai nodded at the words ever so slightly before throwing a pillow over his head.
