Work Text:
Scar and Grians marriage has been falling apart lately.
Grian no longer holds trusts for Scar, and that has left Scar devastated — but who is he to be heartbroken? When he was the one who betrayed Grian.
Scar regrets what he's done and has apologized to Grian over and over again, yet Grian doesn't seem to acknowledge it. Luckily for Scar, Grian hasn't left him.
Every attempt he makes to try to fix the problem he's always met with something like;
“How do I know you haven't put poison in my coffee?”
“How am I sure this isn't another trick?”
“Are you going to murder me in my sleep?”
So, as a last resort option; Scar decided to meet up with his fellow bamboozler.
“So, why did you need a top secret meeting with me?” The pink-haired-Lizzie asked.
Scar sighed, “Grian. He's been…well, he doesn't exactly trust me anymore.”
Lizzie tilted her head, gesturing for Scar to elaborate, “I messed up, Lizzie. During a game of Monopoly I…kinda betrayed him.” Scar confessed his guilty crimes.
Lizzie enthusiastically gasped, “No you didn't…” Scar nodded. “That's his favourite game!”
“I know.”
“Oh my gosh.”
“What do I do?!”
Her flabbergasted expression shifted into something more…mischievous. “I know exactly what you need to do.”
Scar was fully focused now.
“There's this book, by the Mayor of Animalia; ‘The Key to a Happy Marriage’ , I have a copy back at home — I can bring it to you — if you'd like.”
“Lizzie, you're the best!” He exclaimed. “But, why do you have a copy? I thought you and Joel had a very happy marriage. That's why I came to you in the first place.”
Lizzie's face was now much paler than before, “n– no reason!”
And with that, Scar now had his hands on a very thick and hard book of ‘The Key to a Happy Marriage’ by the Mayor of Animalia. He still had to look up who that was, but for now, he needs to get reading.
Worried your marriage life is falling apart? Or do you wish to enhance its happiness to the full extent?
Either way, this book is for you!

To regain your partner's trust after carelessly losing it is a difficult process — but if you love your partner — you will find bearing through this process worth it.
There is a simple strategy for this; using the five love languages.
You're gonna want to start slow with this, you wouldn't want to draw any unwanted suspicion. Especially if they no longer trust you.
Play it cool, be honest, and love with all your heart. Now…read carefully.
Step1. Words of Affirmation – Compliment your partner, whether it be about a minor feature of their physique/face, or a small gesture they do in the house.
Show your appreciation for the chores they do at home or the effort they put to do this or to do that.
Mention a personality trait or a hobby they practice, and show your love and affirmation for them.
The greatest thing to say to your mates outside “I love you” is: “I like you — just the way you are.”
– Nancy Van Pelt
Scar gave it some thought. Grian wasn’t exactly on listening terms with him, but it never hurts to try.
Hiding the book in his closet he decided to go downstairs where Grians whereabouts would happen to be.
Grian was sitting on the couch — watching a comedy show — belly laughing. Scar's heart warmed at the sight, he's always loved hearing Grian laugh.
Oh! Perfect!
Scar was unsure how he was gonna compliment Grian out of the blue.
“Play it cool, be honest, and love with all your heart.” repeated in his brain.
Scar cleared his throat to announce his presence, sitting next to Grian, but keeping arm length so his partner doesn't feel too invaded.
“Whatcha watching, G?” Start slowly…
“Friends,” he mumbled. Good. That's a great start, he answered me.
“You know, G,” he was gonna start the compliment now (that's weird to state) play it cool. “I truly admire your laugh, it brings me so much joy, and I bet it'll brighten up anyone's day when they hear it.”
Phew. He finally said it.
Scar wanted to look away immediately after he said it, to run, to hide from his husband who's probably gonna murder him now.
Instead, he received an incoherent “thanks” for his partner. Grian’s cheeks were now flushed with rosy red as he desperately tried to hide himself by shifting his view to the television and cupping his cheek with his hand.
Good. Start slow.
The next time Scar compliments Grian is when he's preparing a gift for a friend's upcoming birthday.
He decides to slowly sneak up to the focused Grian, “who's that for?”
“Timmy.” His response was clear, short, and honest.
He didn't seem annoyed, just…prefers not to talk?
Scar hummed, “y'know, you're always so thoughtful, G. You always know what people want — you notice every little detail about them — and you probably light up their days, light of my life.”
Grian froze immediately. Body, frozen? Yes. Cheeks, warm? Probably.
“You're such a sap.”
Scar smiled at his response. His heart warmed. Warm like the cookies your grandma baked for you when you were little.
Third time's the charm.
Grian was cosplaying his favorite character from his favorite comic. Cuteguy.
Matches perfectly, since he indeed is a cute guy.
While Grian was doing his makeup, Scar decided to shoot his shot. “Cuteguy? From the comic?” Scar obviously already knew, but he had to say something before the compliment.
“Mhm!” He sounded cheerful, less annoyed, more..chirpy. Good.
“You're gorgeous, my love.” The words slipped out before he could even revise it. Screw it. “You're absolutely breathtaking.”
Scar was unsure whether or not it was blush making Grians face look so red, or if it was Scar's words.
“Th- thank you, Scar. I really appreciate it.” He finished with a smile. A tender, loving, sweet, adorable smile.
Fantastic to see that the book Lizzie lended him was working. He was gonna have to move on to the next step now.
The book Lizzie let him borrow was extremely useful. Slowly, but surely; everything was working well.
Step 2 of the plan will now be taken into action.
Step 2. Acts of Service - Who doesn't appreciate it when someone does something for you? Your mate may appreciate it if you do something thoughtful for them.
Don't look at it as a chore or an obligation, but as a loving—caring partner—who wants to take care of their mate.
If they decide to turn down your gestures, never back down, never what? NEVER GIVE UP!
If you are unsure of what sorts of acts you should practice, here are some examples:
Opening the door for your partner is always an appreciated gesture, not only to your spouse, but to people in general.
Carrying their bags is one of many that are appreciated by all. They may turn down this offer, but that is only due to their politeness, overcome their politeness with your love and compassion for them.
Cooking meals. If you're the partner who cooks, then this may not be as useful, but there's always other ways to score. I advise you to cook them their favourite meal. Food is always healing, cook them their favourite meal and see how they react!
Cleaning the house — again — if you're the partner who cleans the house, clean it once more until it's shining like it's been polished. Clean house is equivalent to a happy partner. Again, don't make it feel like a chore, but as a way to show your passion and love for them.
These are only some suggestions of what you may do for your partner. Every small act of service counts.
Luck was on Scar's side today since Grian was out buying groceries. Though, if he had read step two before he had gone out, he would've done it himself.
On the bright side, he can start cleaning up the house while Grian was away. He also made a mental note to himself to open the door for Grian, and carry the grocery bags for him.
Scar started with their storage. It was full of junk, clothes, food, appliances, any random sorts of bits and bobs you can find.
This is gonna be a challenge. He thought to himself, but with that thought, another thought came up; Don't look at it as a chore or an obligation, but as a loving—caring partner—who wants to take care of their mate.
Right. Not a chore.
Scar finished earlier than he thought he would've finished, but now the whole house was clean. Not his proudest work, since he was constantly paranoid if he wouldn't notice Grian arriving home, catching him in the act. (Of cleaning their own house, that would be strange Scar behavior.)
When the sounds of crunching gravel came from reach, Scar immediately got up.
Racing towards the car where Grian was currently stationed at the trunk of the car, carrying as many grocery bags as he can.
“Here lemme get that for you, mister.” Scar snapped the bags from Grians hands. “I'll get the rest.”
“Scar, what're you doing?”
“Helping,” he replied while juggling six bags.
Grian only hummed in response, not bothering to protest. As they made their way to the entrance of their abode, Scar realized the door was closed. (Duh)
Though, he have to be the one to open it.
…Well…
The moment Grian reached out for the doorknob, Scar yelled out, “WAIT!”
That made Grian jump, “Scar, what is it?”
Standing there, dumbstruck. Scar didn't have an answer.
Humorlessly, he chuckled, as he immediately reached the doorknob, opening it before Grian could protest.
“Uh…okay? Care to explain why you wouldn't let me open it?”
“No reason!”
“Uh huh.”
Scar and Grian spent the rest of the day sorting out the goodies Grian bought, having a long , comfortable day together.
When the clock striked six. Scar thought it would be the perfect time to prepare dinner.
Grian had clearly told Scar to wake him up so he would prepare dinner, but Scar only viewed that as an opening, an opportunity to cook for them, just as Grian does.
With their new many ingredients , options aren't limited this time. After pondering and constantly checking the fridge, Scar concluded on the idea of roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy for dinner. (Maybe because Grian had mentioned that was his favorite dish.)
Scar's no expert when it comes to cooking. Baking? Yes. But cooking is a whole different skill.
Now.. How does he do this?
Hopeless. Scar took out his phone to research online.
Searching online he typed; a step-by-step guide to prepare roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.
A website presented itself with the fool guide.
Here's a step-by-step guide to preparing a delicious roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy:
First Roast Chicken:
Ingredients:
- 1 whole chicken (3-4 lbs)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 lemon, quartered (optional)
With that, Scar started preparing the ingredients. He took out each ingredient one-by-one as his phone continued to speak.
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Rinse and pat dry: Rinse the chicken and pat it dry with paper towels.
3. Season the chicken: Rub the chicken with olive oil, salt, black pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
4. Stuff the cavity: Stuff the chicken cavity with lemon quarters (if using).
5. Truss the chicken: Use kitchen twine to tie the legs together.
6. Roast the chicken: Place the chicken in a roasting pan and roast for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
7. Let it rest: Let the chicken rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Scar was screwed. He was making so much noise, enough to wake the whole neighborhood just by dropping pans. But, as expected, Grian didn't wake. Didn't even stir one bit with the noise.
Hmm. Maybe that's why he was so specific with how he wanted to be awakened.
Now to prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Ingredients:
- 3-4 large potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 1/4 cup milk or half-and-half
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Boil the potatoes: Place the chopped potatoes in a large pot and add enough cold water to cover them. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
2. Drain and mash: Drain the potatoes and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
For Gravy:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions:
1. Make the roux: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to make a roux, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
2. Add broth: Gradually whisk in chicken broth, bringing to a simmer.
3. Thicken the gravy: Cook until the gravy thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
1. Carve the chicken: Carve the roasted chicken into slices.
2. Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy: Serve the chicken with mashed potatoes and spoon some delicious gravy over the top.
Hope this helped! Enjoy your roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy!
Everything was set. Other than the mess he made, the dining table was all perfect.
A candlelight in the middle of the table, creating a romantic atmosphere.
The aroma of the chicken wrapped its scent every inch of the room.
The plates, the wine, the cutlery, all in perfect place.
Now all that was left is to wake the sleeping beauty.
Grian instructed Scar with the same instructions for as long as they've known each other now. Shake and whisper gently. Though, that never worked.
Scar entered their room, finding his lover in the same spot and same position as when he left.
Smiling fondly, Scar approached the sleeping man, sitting right by his side. Shaking Grian's shoulder gently while whispering “time to wake up” was not the most effective way to wake up a drop dead gorgeous being who has the energy of a hundred birds.
Stirring slightly while mumbling something incoherent was Grian's way of announcing, “leave me be, but don't leave me.”
“Grian, it's time for dinner,” said Scar — voice above a whisper — but with the same gentleness and fondness.
“Grian.”
SMACK
Grian had smacked a pillow at Scars face as the formerly sleeping man sat up lazily.
How does such a soft pillow become so hard when in the hands of Grian?!
“What time is it?” Asked the sleepy Grian, voice deep, and groggily — probably from the long hours of sleep he's had.
“About seven thir–”
SMACK
“I told you to wake me at six!”
“Bu– but, you were so peaceful! I couldn't possibly disturb you,” Scar started panting as he tried to explain his way out of a possible homicide. “You were like a sleeping cat!”
That got Grians attention as crimson red started to appear on his face. Maybe that was because of his rage, or maybe his love for Scar. Who knows? (I prefer the latter)
“You'll have to help me prepare dinner then.” Grian huffed.
“Relax, my love. I've got a surprise,” Scar led them outside the room, and down the stairs.
“God, please don't tell me you've ordered takeout.
“Of course not!” Last time Scar did that, he got more than two smacks from a hard pillow.
Grian was never fond of takeout, especially if they had food in the kitchen. Much like a mom, yes. (Maybe like a mama bird)
“Ta-da!”
Grian was silent. Scar turned to view the man's reaction; his expression was worth it. Grian's eyes glittered as he viewed the sight around, mouth slightly agape.
Grian stuttered inaudible words before clearing his throat. “You did all this? Why?”
A sly smirk grew on Scar's face, “you deserve only the best,” Grian had no answer for that. Grabbing his wrist and walking towards the table. “Bon appetit!”
“Thank you..Scar. Really, this is amazing.”
Step two: success. Time for phase three of the scheme.
Step two was much more successful than Scar had thought. A part of him was telling him that it was enough, but another part was yelling at him to finish the job.
He opened the book once more and began reading.
Step 3. Gift Giving - Take note of what your partner's interest may be when it comes to items. Make sure to find out if they prefer store bought or handmade as well!
If your partner is not the gift type, that is unfortunate. Though, it never hurts to try!
Below are simple and affordable gift ideas for your lovers.
Flowers - Nothing can go wrong with flowers. Either store bought, hand picked, or even hand made! All depending on your partners preference. It is, of course, better if you have some clue or idea (or basic knowledge, really) of what your lover's favourite flower is.
According to surveys I have conducted long before, a fair amount of people have answered “I don't know” when it comes to favourites. Don't you fret, this problem is solvable.
Flowers are also extremely symbolic. With much research and help from a personal friend of mine. She's conducted research on the ever so elegant; Flower Language.
Lilacs: symbolizes love or nostalgia of past love.
The Red Rose: symbolizes romantic love and passion.
Lilies: are often associated with purity and virtue.
Tulips: represent perfect love, elegance and new beginnings.
Sunflowers: symbolize loyalty, adoration, and happiness.
Daisies: Symbolize innocence, purity, and new beginnings.
Irises: Often associated with faith, wisdom, and royalty.
The list went on and on and on and on, but Scar chose to ignore the rest. He's already got a bouquet plan in mind.
Stuffed Toys - Those people whose inner child is still longing for their childhood toys will surely appreciate a heartfelt gift of a stuffed toy.
Chocolate - What could possibly go wrong with buying your partner chocolates? Unless they're allergic, scratch this off your list. Go for those goofy, cheesy, loving heart shaped chocolate boxes, and woo your partner into loving you more than ever again.
Well. That's all Scar needs for inspiration to strike.
While Grian is out of the house to spend the day with his siblings. Scar left the house just about right after Grian did.
First; to buy a toy of some sort. Grian's mentioned before that he misses a certain childhood toy, which was (if Scar hasn't forgotten) a toy bird.
So with many options, Scar chose the colorful scarlet macaw. (Maybe because it reminded him so much of Grian)
Victorious with his first purchase, he made his way towards a cookie shop. Much like an actual parrot, Grian was in fact allergic to chocolate.
Viewing the options of freshly baked cookies, a particular one caught his attention; snickerdoodles.
So. He bought a box of em.
He saved the best for last, flowers. He's decided to pay a visit to the famous ‘The Overgrown’ owned by Katherine, a friend of a friend. Who sells the most beautiful, fresh flowers known to this town.
Now, to scavenge those flowers.
He stepped foot in the cozy flower shop, instantly greeted by the scent of each flower.
All sorts of different flowers — big and small — in different baskets and bouquets.
“How can I help you?” A woman greeted Scar, her name tag spelled the words “Katherine” in shiny, italic letters. Meaning, she's the owner. (Duh)
“I was hoping to find a bouquet of sunflowers?” Scar explainer. “The best you've got.”
A spark of excitement glistened in Katherine's eyes, “follow me this way.”
There was a basket full of sunflowers and small daisies. The sight was breathtaking. Heck! This whole place is breathtaking! The atmosphere of the whole florist shop feels like an enchanted empire of flowers.
Katherine was preparing fabric for the bouquet, “how big do you want it to be?”
“Uh— really big,” Scar chuckled. No matter how big the bouquet is, it won't come close to the love he has for Grian.
While Katherine hummed to herself as she prepared the wonderful bouquet, Scar felt a buzz in his pocket.
(Unread Messages)
3:07
my love♡: i just got home
my love♡: where are you??
3:08
You: dw, my love, I'll be home soon
You: just buying a thing or two!
He put away his phone when Katherine started speaking.
“Alright, that'll be ten bucks.”
“Five.”
“Um.. sir, this is non-negotiable..” Katherine trailed off awkwardly.
“O– oh! Right. Sorry.” Scar stammered, face flush with embarrassment.
Despite feeling victorious with his achievements, he can't stop the rush of adrenaline in him. He's hoping Grian will like it.
He was all giddy and happy when he started making his way home. Excited to see his husband.
He pushed open the door, “honey, I'm home!”
“Kitchen!” He turned to follow the sound of Grians voice. Seeing his lover drinking tea, all peaceful and silent, sent his heart to an oven.
Nothing warms his heart more than seeing his lover at a peaceful state in the privacy of their own abode.
“I have a surprise,” he announced. Grian looked up, wide eyed and mouth slightly agape.
Scar stepped forward as Grian stood up, eyes not on the flowers and items, but eyes laid on his lover.
“For you, my light,” he handed over the flowers and placed the box of snickerdoodles on the table. “I also got you this.”
Holding up the scarlet macaw plush, Grians eyes sparkled with nostalgia and tender love.
“Scar, I— I have no words,” Grian stammered as gestured to the box and plush with one hand while holding the bouquet with the other. “Thank you.” He finally said, voice low and gentle.
“No need to thank me,” Scar sat down, opening the box of snickerdoodles. “Snickerdoodles for your tea!” He suggested, but his tone came out more like he intended it.
“I really appreciate this, Scar,” he sat down as well.
He wonders if Grian is still mad at him. That won't be a great topic to bring up, so he stays silent.
They spent the rest of the afternoon finding a vase for the sunflowers.
Scar found himself reading the book once again. He's unmotivated. He feels that everything he's done was enough.
No. If the sun brings sunshine all across the world everyday. Then what he's done is yet not enough. And it will never be enough, but that doesn't mean he'll stop.
Step 4. Quality Time - take your partner out on a hot date, depending on their preferences.
And that was all Scar needed to read for the perfect idea.
Overtime, Scar has been reading less of the book, mostly just the idea and he'll handle the rest.
Now. That date.
The date of the date (heh) will be simple. Saturday afternoon, what could go wrong? They had nothing planned and a picnic on a sunflower field sounds amayzin.
“Scar, where are you taking me?” He giggled. Grian was blindfolded the whole way to this “surprise” Scar was preparing.
From the moment he entered their car and to arriving at their destination he hasn't seen a thing. Not even a glimpse of light, but he trusts Scar with all his life.
Now that he thinks of it, Scar's been acting weird this week. Not the normal Scar weird, but extra sappy weird. Not that he's complaining, Scar's been nothing but sweet and gentle with Grian. He just isn't quite sure what's triggered it to multiply by a hundred.
They've been walking for about three minutes on what feels like a bunch of grass. His guess? A field, due to the flat ground.
Finally, they've reached a stop. With the cool wind and the warm sun on his face, he's thrilled to find out what's beyond the blindfolds.
“You can take it off now.”
With minimum struggle, he takes it off. Delighted and dazed by the breathtaking view.
In front of them is a picnic blanket with all the picnic essentials you could possibly need. But not only that, they were in the middle of a sunflower field, with the sun just at the right angle to reflect upon the sunflowers.
How can he describe this? Extravagant? Marvellous? Bewildering? Astonishing? No words can describe how beautiful, incredible, desirable, and exquisite this view is.
So simple, yet the thought and effort put together was respectable.
“Grian? You good?”
Oh right. He hasn't said a word since the removal of his blindfold.
“Ye— yeah? Oh— sorry. I was just..” he stuttered between words. “It's beautiful, Scar.”
“Glad you like it,” he beamed. “C'mon, I've got your favorite tea.”
The rest of the afternoon was splendid. He’s never wanted time to slow down more than he has right now. What a great day he thought—but little did he know—this was just the beginning.
“Shall we go home?” He sighed. He didn't want the date to end just yet, but it was starting to get dark.
“Not quite…yet.” Excitement and curiosity rushed through Grian's veins.
“Oh?”
“I had one more idea in mind,” said Scar while he was cleaning up the leftover goodies, placing them in the picnic basket. “Just a cherry on top for tonight.”
Grian couldn't stop the wide smile that crept to his face. He still wasn't sure what's gotten to Scar. It was like Scar was wooing him all over again, not that he was complaining about it. No, he'll never complain about the extra love.
He just wonders if it has something to do with Grian giving Scar the silent treatment after Scar betrayed him in a game of Monopoly.
Did Scar feel bad?
But that was so long ago, surely not?
He wasn't really mad at Scar, he just wanted to tease and pout about it. After all, pouting about betrayals is one of his specialties.
Without a blindfold this time, Scar took him to the movie theatre. And the rest of the night was perfect.
Some would say Scar is successful, but apparently, Scar needs more than success.
Upon the arrival in their humble abode, they realized they haven't really cleaned up the kitchen since lunch.
Scar offered to do so, and who was Grian to oppose?
In exchange, Grian decides to clean their bedroom. Not much work, just a simple “since you cleaned the kitchen, I'll clean the bedroom” gesture.
But something catches Grian's eyes. Hidden under piles of clothes in Scar's closet was a book. Not just any book.
The Key to a Happy Marriage by the Mayor of Animalia the book title read.
Now where has he heard of the name “mayor of Animalia” before?
…
Lizzie? Does this have something to do with Lizzie and Scar's not so secret meeting a week ago?
That explains a lot… Lizzie used their lovers quarrel to promote her work. How brilliant of her.
Grian opened the book to its current bookmark.
It read:
Step. 5: Physical Touch - hold your partner not only in embrace, but hold their heart like a delicate fine piece of art.
Nothing warms the heart more than small, quiet gestures such as holding hands, hugging, and cuddling.
Right. So that's Scar's next plan? Grian feels multiple emotions at once. A part of him feels warm for thinking that Scar went all this way to follow a book to make him feel loved, but another part of him is distraught. Why would Scar think Grian doesn't trust Scar enough for him to woo him all up again?
Like, how dare he? But also, he's amazing.
But, a small voice at the back of Grian's mind is whispering to him. A mischievous, cheeky plan that might be worth the reaction.
He doesn't wait for Scar to finish up with the dishes. Instead, he heads downstairs to find the brunet finishing up by putting away the now clean dishes. He looks back, eyes meeting Grians.
“Oh! Did you need something, love?”
Grian doesn't respond to this, instead he pulls Scar in for a hug, burying his head on Scar's shoulder.
Now, some of you may think this isn't really a revenge sort of thing to do. But if he's one step ahead of Scar from completing his little master plan, the reaction will be worth it when he drops the bomb.
Scar stills for a minute before exhaling sharply, “my hands are wet, G,” voice sounding like he accidentally kicked a puppy, “sorry, I can't return the hug.”
Grian still doesn't respond, not trusting himself to not say “I know about the book” so soon.
Grian stepped back, offering Scar a tender smile. Seemed to work since Scar turned to a tomato.
Anyways, back to his scheme.
Scar's hand seemed dry enough, so he took it and placed Scar's hand on his, smiling up at Scar.
He then hastily pulled Scar to follow him upstairs. “Let’s go to bed,” he paused to pull a fake yawn that sounded far too real. “It's late.”
Wordless, he sat on their bed — waiting for Scar to get ready — since Grian got the head start of getting ready for sleep.
He couldn't stop smiling at Scar's pink face. Despite the years they've been together, being flustered and surprised by each other's actions and words are still genuine and true in their hearts. He must've been truly caught off guard with Grian’s antics.
The moment Scar was in range, Grian immediately pulled him into bed. And once Scar was all comfortable laying down next to him, he snuggled up on him. Cuddling him like they were apart the whole day.
Well… they weren't apart the whole day, but they haven't really…cuddled for a week. Which, mindless to say, is possibly Grian's fault.
Scar didn't question it, just reciprocated. Wrapping his arms around Grian's waist, holding him close.
“So…” Grian starts, “when were you gonna tell me?”
He heard Scar gulp.
“About?”
“The book,” he said casually, “how dare you? You seriously thought our marriage was falling apart?” He scolded, and despite the words he spat out sounding furious, he was just teasing.
“It…wasn't?” Scar asked, hesitant with his choice of words.
“Unbelievable,” Grian sighed. “Sorry I made you feel that way.”
The tension finally left Scar's body, holding Grian tight, but gentle and closer.
“I'm sorry for that act I pulled while playing Monopoly too… and for thinking our marriage was falling apart.”
“I'll accept your apology…under one condition.” He slightly pulled away from the warmth of Scars chest to fully view the man's face.
“Anything.” Scar whispered.
“Kiss me until I forgive you.”
With zero hesitation, Scar's hand made its way to the back of Grian’s head, pulling him into a soft, passionate kiss.
And, wow. It felt like fireworks.
No amount of kisses will get Grian to get used to the way Scar kisses him.
They eventually had to pull apart. Curse oxygen.
“So?” Scar asks, “am I forgiven?”
“Hmm…” Grian hums, “I'm not sure,” he teases.
Grian's giggles get cut off by Scar's lips. Kissing him deeper, but with the same gentleness as before.
“Apology accepted,” moving his hand to cup Scar's face, as he leaned closer to connect their lips once more.
