To be clear, it was a favor forged out of mutual interest. Either side had something to gain from this deal. There were zero other reasons why Scar might’ve accepted Grian’s invitation without really considering it. Zero.
It didn’t matter that Scar had been too distracted by Grian’s mischievous grin to catch his question at first. It didn’t matter that his stomach had practically launched into his throat when the words actually did register. It didn’t matter that they were the same ones he’d fantasized about hearing for the better part of two years now.
“Scar,” Grian had said, dangerously earnest. “Go on a date with me.”

Scar agrees to Grian's invitation to spy on Tango and Jimmy's date. Surely, there's no way spending Valentine's Day pretending to date his best friend will dredge up any underlying affection though, right?

“… What was that?” Gem stared at him like she had seen a ghost. Her jaw might as well have been touching the cobblestone and her eyes looked about to bulge out of her skull. She had turned about 5 shades whiter.
“Oh, it's Scar’s newest bit,” Grian answered casually. It was definitely nothing that warranted that sort of reaction, didn't even make top 5 of craziest things Scar had done. Maybe not even top 10. He flattened the shopping district overnight just a few weeks ago.
“His newest bit…” Gem shook her head, recomposing herself. “Can you please explain what exactly is the bit?” Before Grian could reply, she added: “From the very beginning, with as many details as possible. What is wrong with you two?”(or: Scar rehearses to get the best love confession)

Scar was in a middle of a fight, sliding back on the rooftop as he heard his com bis with a new caller number “It’s Gri. One sec cub.” he answered it with cubs voice going out ‘SCAR YOUR IN THE MIDDLE OF—“ The call going to his earpiece cutting him out. “Hey birdie—“ Scar said ignoring cubs distress as he grabbed his bow again shooting an arrow straight through the guy in front of him. “—How are you?” Scar said with a grin immediately getting in a better mood getting to hear his husbands voice.

Summary
The bell rings familiarly, the same noise Grian heard since elementary school. He’s still zoned out, thinking about how to escape through the window, maybe run to one of the fast food places across the street...
...He looks over, and sees a guy smiling a little too brightly at him. He had brown shoulder length hair half pulled up, green eyes, a varsity jacket with blue jeans, and that smile was still blinding Grian's eyes. He was forced to look down at the table. While doing so, he caught a glimpse of one of the cheap rubber bracelets the football team gave out at the games. “GoodTimes #14” was in blue lettering on the white background of the bracelet.
“It’s my lucky number.” A voice splits the silence, it’s the guy’s voice, clearly noticing him staring at his bracelet. Grian did just lock eyes with him then immediately look away, that may have been a little rude
