They all sat on a comfortable circle of couches in a corner of Larry’s office.
Nicky and Ahkmenrah were playing Candy Land. Nicky was currently winning, although from Ahk’s calm expression and smile, he’d probably let Nicky win.
Jedediah and Octavius were glued to each other’s sides, as usual. They had been backseat driving Nicky in Candy Land, yelling different things at him(the poor boy had looked very confused, thank God Ahk was okay with letting him win). But for now, they had grown tired and were instead sitting against the box of Candy Land, leaning on each other, watching the game and occasionally laughing over things they whispered to each other.
Sacagawea was conversing with Attila, with Teddy by her side. Sacagawea was talking about how she would track different animals, and Attila would add to the conversation by telling Sac how he would cook each animal. Sacagawea would then kindly explain why he would probably die before he would be able to catch the animal, which Attila would nod thoughtfully to. Teddy looked a little uncomfortable but as he was supposed to be someone who had fought bears with his bare hands, Larry presumed he couldn’t say much. He looked happy as long as Sac was by his side.
Larry sat on an armchair, watching Ahk and Nicky’s Candy Land game. He had a thermos bottle of coffee in his hand and a warm smile on his face. It was a peaceful day, a rare thing at the museum, which Larry was grateful for. He could sit around and be with his family, doing nothing… Or at least until Dexter found something to steal, or something even worse happened.
Larry tried not to worry about that. For now, he was happy to be with his museum family.
