Home, a place where I can go-
To take this of my shoulders,
Someone take me home-
<><><>
Grian was tired of being alone, being cold, and eating next to nothing, day after day.
He didn’t want to die.
He wanted to survive and feel warm again.
But trapped in this broken world-
With shattered code-
The likelihood of that happening was incredibly slim.
You see Grian was a Parrot hybird, quite a bit smaller than your average player and quite literally the runt of his clutch-
They left him here.
When the code collapsed that is-
His family escaped, but when he tripped…
…
His mother looked back at him with guilty eyes.
She valued the survival of the strongest.
And he couldn’t make the cut..
She left him.
<><><>
Look I didn’t power through the struggle
Just to let a little trouble, knock me out of my position
And interrupt the vision.
<><><>
Grian wasn’t hurt by the world collapsing- he had been small enough that the corrosion died out before it could work its way to the finer details of the world.
It was still barren of fairly unliveable for most-
But not Grian.
There was a spark in his belly, a stubborn right to survive in spite of his family.
He found seeds to eat and small caves to hide away from corrupted mobs.
<><><>
After everything I witnessed, after all of these decisions.
All these miles feet and inches
They can’t add up to the distance.
<><><>
Still Grian longed for more than survival.
He wanted his family, he wanted his home-
<><><>
That I have been through, just to get to
A place where even if there's no closure, I'm still safe
I still ache from trying to keep pace
Somebody give me a sign, I'm starting to lose faith
<><><>
Grian let out a warbling chirp in sorrow at the thoughts-
He was only 7!- he shouldn’t have to do this alone!
<><><>
Now tell me, how did all my dreams turn to nightmares?
How did I lose it when I was right there?
<><><>
Just last week his mum had tucked him into bed, next to his two siblings.
Both taller than him, but both just as loving.
They did love him-
Or
At least they had…
<><><>
Now I'm so far that it feels like it's all gone to pieces
Tell me why the world never fights fair?
<><><>
Grian let out another hopeless cry.
They had loved him.
Which is why this betrayal hurt all the more!
<><><>
I'm trying to find
…
..
Home
<><><>
“Impulse did you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
“It sounded like a kid almost-“
People…
There were people here??!
Grian scrambled out of his little cave and chirped longingly out into the broken world
<><><>
A place where I can go
To take this off my shoulders
<><><>
“There it was again! Didn’t you hear that?!”
“Well I did that time but- it sounds more like a bird than a kid Skizz-“
“Kids can be birds too Dipple Dop- c’mon”
Grian looked around frantically, crying as he did-
<><><>
Someone take me home,
<><><>
“Look there he is!”
Grian spun, just in time to see two figures,
one was an Angel with brilliant white wings and faint halo, wearing a suit with his sleeves torn off.
The other was an Imp, with a wiry tail and rounded horns, who wore primarily black and yellow.
The Angel was jogging over to Grian.
And Grian sprinted towards him.
<><><>
Someone take me Home!-
<><><>
Despite neither of them knowing eachother the Angel scooped Grian up and held him protectively to his chest-
And Grian clung to the man like he was life itself.
The parrot boy was big enough to be held in two of the Angel’s hands, but other than that he was still just a mite of a thing in comparison.
“Whoa there really was a kid in here!!” How did he survive?!”
The Imp said as he caught up to the Angel.
“I don’t know man, but by the looks of it hes been out here alone for way to long-“
“How can you tell he’s been alone?? Maybe there are others?”
“Nope- his wings are a mess, if he were here with anyone they would’ve helped him preen-“
A gentle hand came and rested over Grian’s soar wings and he whined softly before nuzzling into the Angel’s chest further-
“We should get him back to Hermitcraft- he probably needs medical attention.” The Imp spoke again, his voice was warm but also worried-
“Yeah, my thoughts exactly Dipple Dop- and I have the feeling he’s not going to mind.”
Grian chirped happily in confirmation which drew out soft laughter from both of his people.
They were his people now too-
They were warm
And seemed safe enough- they wanted to save him from this place
No bad guy or corrupted creature would care for him like this-
Not even his own mother could manage this level of kindness-
“Yeah, quite literally attached to you there- do you want me to open the portal?”
“Yeah Dipple Dop, bring us back Home.”
Home-
Grian was going home.
