Work Text:
I look out at the achingly familiar beach. This town has been part of my childhood, summers spent in various hotels, houses, tents in the vicinity. Used to be just us, maybe with the cousins, then there was Charlie, and he fit in so beautifully the first year that he came with us. Holidaying with him and my family may not have been the most private, but we made do.
Now, I watch him make sandcastles with Bailey, lecturing all the while about tides. Alesia is splashing happily in the shallows.
It’s come full circle and I couldn’t be happier.
