White stones smoothed by the tides lined the flower beds; purple sea lavender sprouted from the saline soil by the seaside cliffs. She threw herself off, aiming between the rocks half-concealed beneath the wild blue.
Your heart fluttered in the freefall and seemed to stutter at the salty water’s bite. She threw her arms around you, and your breathless bodies melted together, like ripened fruit in the summertime—too colourful and oversweet.
