Despite popular belief, Johnny Storm was not an idiot. Sure, he might not be as smart as his brother-in-law Reed was, but still, Johnny was not an idiot. He knew he probably shouldn’t be falling for the Fantastic Four’s PR manager of all people, but he couldn’t help it. Not when you looked like that, and laughed at all his jokes like he was the funniest person you’dever met, and were probably the nicest girl he’d ever met. He also knew dating the team’s PR manager and keeping it a secret from said team probably wasn’t the best idea he ever had, especially when one of those team members had a knack for turning invisible and popping out of nowhere to scare you. But he was in love, and love makes you do stupid things, as they say. Like leave the door open when the two of you are lying on his bed with no space between the two of you.
The two of you weren’t doing anything wrong. You were only lying together with your head resting on his chest, over his steady heart, as he had an arm wrapped around your waist, his thumb lightly tracing circles onto your skin, before he took one of your hands in his and pressed a kiss to the back of it.
It was fairly innocent, though that still didn’t stop an invisible voice from yelling, “Oh my god!”
The both of you quickly jumped off each other, sitting on opposite sides of the bed, before Sue revealed herself with a look of shock etched across her face.
“You two are together, aren’t you?” She exclaimed, pointing a finger between the two of you.
“Please don’t fire me,” were the only words to leave your mouth as Johnny simply stared at his sister with a smile and a shrug. Because, at this point, he really didn’t care if anyone found out anymore. He wanted everyone to know that you were the reason he was happier than usual. That you were the reason he was smiling more and was out of the house more often. He wanted everyone to know who his girl was.
Sue only sighed as she stared back at her brother, knowing what his noncommittal shrug meant, before turning to face you. “I’m not going to fire you,” she said softly with a smile. “I’m just happy he finally has someone that makes him happy,” she said, nodding her head to Johnny. “Because between you and me, he has not been good at hiding the fact that he was seeing someone.”
“Hey!” Johnny exclaims, but you and Sue only laugh at his protest, a knowing smile on her lips as she shoots you a quick wink.
With that, Sue turns to leave, hand on the doorknob as she pulls it closed. “Ben owes me ten bucks now,” she says with a smile as her parting words.
“What?!” The man next to you exclaims, causing you to laugh. “You were betting on my love life?!” He yells through the now closed door. You can hear Sue's laughter as she walks down the hallway, probably off to find Ben and claim her reward.
You’re still laughing to yourself at his dramatics as you wrap your arms around his broad shoulders, gently pulling him down to cuddle with him again, already missing his constant warmth.
“Cmon, lie down,“ you gently coax.
Johnny only sighs, wrapping an arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him as he lies back down. “Can’t believe they were betting on if I was seeing someone or not,” he mutters to himself, before pressing an affectionate kiss to your temple, a small smile playing on his lips at the thought of not having to hide around with you in secret anymore. That now, he can finally love you as loudly as he wants to in his home.
