In which Damian's been feeling off all day and he can't figure out why. Like there were rocks in his stomach. A knife through his heart. And whispers in his ears. A jounrey of self reflection and a whole lot of guilt as Damian comes to terms with the lives he's taken. It hits him all at once as hes never really thought about his actions before. He never had a reason to, he was raised as an assasin, and assasins don't feel remorse. But here, in this family, bound by the golden 'no kill' rule he begings to grapple with the consequences for his choices. And with a little help from a certain 'crow' the guilt is amplified tenfol.
This is a longer fanfiction, 11000 words without the bonus chapter added onto it. I'm sorry if the pacing is strange, or if too much happens to quickly. I struggled a little to keep it consise yet detailed and eventful. But if long angsty stories are your thing, then you've stumbled across the right fic!

I had not intended for this to be a sad fanfiction; it was supposed to be happy only, but the happiness got away from me. I promise it isn't full angst, though, it's just a little swirl of the fun and the misery. Not to mention a whole load of unsaid feelings because Jason is emotionally constipated and cares for his kids too much, and the alley kids care about him just as much.

This is the full/Extended version of my third chapter in the "5 times Jason was there for his kids + 1 time they were there for him (Ft. Bat family members)" fanfiction that I posted. It is part of a series of fics, however, this can absolutely be read as a standalone fanfiction as well!
Also!!! There is no explicit JayRoy content in this, you can interpret it however you would like. I just noticed there was a significant lack of Lian and Jason fanfictions that weren't explicitly JayRoy, and I know not everyone ships it. I want this story to be enjoyable to everyone; that is why it is interpretive.

Summary
This series is just for fun! It's full of fluff and angst -Stories of love, hardships, and fun times. A series of stories centering around the chaotic life of Jason Todd and the even more chaotic lives of kids growing up from all kinds of backgrounds, ages, and identities. The complexities of human life and individuality make it easy to separate yourself and become reclusive. Jason had experienced it himself, but maybe this cast of ever-changing and growing street urchins could help him feel like he has a place to belong after all.
In other words; A grouped-together series of all my fanfics revolving around Red Hood and the kids of Park Row/Crime Alley. These characters are all original characters, as actual lore doesn't give us many canon children to work with, but if I can find them, I may include more works about canon DC characters.

Summary

Upon the first meeting, promises of love, intimacy and a shared future are robbed away as Sabo declares that he has no intention of seeing this marriage through. Even so, he leads you into his confidential biding without any regards for your feelings. Leaving you then no choice but to descend into darkness in the process of taking matters into your own hands ; you spiral between his personal affairs and living up to royal expectations for the sake of avoiding a grim fate with an unsavory suitor from overseas.

Red Hood’s modulated voice is bone-chilling. Nearly every sleaze-bag in Crime Alley had become accustomed to the gravely robotic nature of it. The unnatural shifts in his words and the variations in pitch being just ever so slightly off putting. Borderline uncanny, yet everyone who’s heard it knows there’s a human behind that voice. A man who choses to blow a hole through someone’s skull without so much of an afterthought.
Though, no one had ever heard that voice scream.
Not until tonight.
Or, Red Hood is captured, Nightwing saves him and while helping him afterwards, puts the wrong puzzle pieces together and confronts him which does not go quite how he planned.
