Work Text:
For my dreams, I keep a constant hush
The portrait of who I will become is drawn with a silent brush
I paint a path with colors bright and warm
While keeping the canvas covered, from those who wish me harm
Once, I proudly shared the sketches of my future life
Only to discover that my peers wished me nothing but strife
That was the day I learned people can’t hate on what they don’t know
So forgive me for moving in silence, it’s the only way I can safely grow
In this world where people are crabs and life is the barrel
I can’t afford to be pulled down by those who want to see my dreams in peril.
