Summary:

Title: I Was Forced To Marry The Demon King & Now I'm The Queen Of Hell

Broke, Blonde and Burnt out.

Xia Fei had enough. How much of his sanity did he have to sacrifice just to get by? He only meant to summon a demon to help him pay rent or pass his degree.

He didn't plan on becoming the Queen of Hell. Or the Demon King's wife.

Work Text:

Desperate times really called for desperate measures. Money was getting tighter and tighter each month and Xia Fei slowly became more and more forlorn. Overworked, stressed and tired, he’d had enough. The part time jobs he had were nowhere near enough for his living expenses. Why was living in Birdon so expensive?!

There was no use in complaining.

Even though ‘summoning a demon’ was beyond stupid and silly, no one would know if he tried it or not. And it's better to try and fail than not to try at all. Xia Fei let out a tired and defeated sigh once he looked at the pentagram he drew. This is so embarrassing and perhaps Xia Fei was a bit naive…

“Whatever…” He mumbled to himself. If it didn’t work out– which it most likely wouldn’t– then he’d just pretend this never happened. He shouldn’t feel embarrassed since he was alone but he couldn’t help this feeling.

He skimmed through his notes and began to chant foreign Latin words. In the worst possible accent, he said…

“Ego me offero. Veni ad me, potentissime daemonum –”

Xia Fei flinched as the floor with the pentagram suddenly cracked. The landlord will kill him for this one for sure! A glow appeared from below, spreading through the whole floor. “The hell!?” Xia Fei ran towards the door, but the glowing floor sucked him in.

He tried to grab onto something yet failed. Before his screaming could be heard, he fell into darkness.

When Xia Fei slowly opened his eyes, he found himself in a dim room, staring into a pair of deep red eyes. Confused, he looked around. He was sitting on top of a stranger who was lounging on a massive dark throne. The stranger had wild bright red hair, braided neatly. He wore dark traditional clothing that could resemble something out of one of the video games Xia Fei played. And not to mention the long ears, black horns and huge wings.

Did Xia Fei summon this guy? But then they would be still inside Xia Fei’s dorm room. So where is this place?

The man had a sinister smile as he was eyeing Xia Fei.

Suddenly, something poked his thigh. Xia Fei looked down and saw the man’s claws digging into his pants. “What the hell?!” Xia Fei gasped as he jumped up from the stranger’s lap to stand in front of him.

“The one and only,” the man said smoothly. “Welcome home, my queen.”

"W-What?" Xia Fei said, visibly confused. “W-Who are you?!"

The stranger chuckled. "You do an offering ritual and then dare to ask who I am, mortal?"

"What..." Xia Fei couldn’t make sense out of this situation. He had so many thoughts but couldn’t grasp onto even one.

"Is that your favourite word, mortal?" The man said, eyeing him. “You said that three times in a row now.” This man looked like something that could resemble a dragon. It was clear that this man was a demon, nonetheless Xia Fei wasn’t sure if demons should be this good looking…

"No I just..." Xia Fei did not know what to say. “I tried to summon a demon, not do some weird offerings!" Xia Fei looked around. Is this a throne room? Blegh, what a creepy design.

“Hm?” The demon raised an eyebrow. A deep chuckle escaped his lips as he slowly arose from his throne, approaching Xia Fei closer. “You offered yourself to me to come to the underworld.” He reached forward, his claws ghosting over Xia Fei’s cheek. “And how could I decline a fine morsel like you?” The stranger licked his lips, something glowing in his red eyes

Xia Fei let out a nervous laugh “Eh...” he took a step back. “So, you pulled me through.. my floor for what exactly?”

Another chuckle escaped the demon's lips. "So pretty yet so stupid.” He raised his hand, opening his palm. “Of course you offered yourself to me to be my bride, my wife."

“I did not.” Xia Fei said flat.

"You did"

“Listen, demon,” Xia Fei said. The demon looked unimpressed.“All I did was to try to summon a demon to get by– Uwah!!” Xia Fei let out a yelp when the demon pulled him closer as if he was a magnet with a single flick with his finger.

Slammed against the demon’s body, Xia Fei let out a sound in protest “None of this can be real!” His hands pressed firmly against the demon’s muscular shoulders.

Damn…

“Cannot believe your own luck?” The demon’s sinister smile showed his fangs again. His clawed finger running down Xia Fei’s pale cheek. “Then we should seal the deal completely, no?”

And with that he suddenly pushed Xia Fei down, tossing him into a bed with velvet silk. Xia Fei blinked confused. Gone from the throne room he found himself in a fancy, dark royal bedroom. "I think I am on drugs..." Xia Fei mumbled, unsure.

“Welcome to our pre-wedding night.” The demon hovered over him. “Ready to be devoured?”

“I don't even know who you are, what the hell do you mean devour!” Xia Fei pushed his palms against the demon’s chest.

“Hmm, right.” Completely unbothered by Xia Fei’s movement, the demon came to realisation. “You may call me Vein, the Demon King-”

“Yeah, of course you are!” Xia Fei scoffed.

“You…”

“Xia Fei.”

“Xia Fei,” Vein flicked his forehead, the room echoing a loud thud.

“Ow!” Xia Fei whined. “Why!?” Tears forming at the corner of his eyes from the sharp pain.

“Dont interrupt your husband… your king.” Vein warned him.

“Wait…  if I marry you what will happen to me?” Xia Fei asked.

“Then you’ll be the queen to bear my children of course” Vein simply said.

“Uh, you know I am a man” Xia Fei said as if Vein didn’t see the obvious.

“So?” Vein tilted amused his head.

“Ah, I see.” Xia Fei let out a nervous chuckle. “Excuse me, yeah?” he said calmly. Then he turned around to crawl away and grab on the bed’s headboard “HELP ME! SOMEBODY SAVE ME AND GET ME BACK!!” he yelled.

Vein burst into laughter “You are funny!”

“That’s not funny at a-ah!” Xia Fei yelped when Vein grabbed his ankle to pull him back. He couldn’t believe it. This hot and suspiciously handsome thing is claiming to be a demon king who wants not to only marry him but impregnate him?! Xia Fei was sure he was probably in a coma and dreaming this mess.

How do Japanese comics end in such stories, anyway?

“You have a very honest face.” Vein said as he watched over Xia Fei.

“Huh?”

Vein licked his lips as his eyes gleamed sinister. “I cannot imagine the faces you make when I have my first bite on your tender meat~”

“Uhm, I thought this was about marriage…” Xia Fei said quietly.

Vein scoffed and pressed Xia Fei further into the mattress, pressing his lips against the blonde’s as he intertwined their fingers. Stupidly enough, Xia Fei’s heart skipped a beat. He felt like his breath got taken away and it took him a moment to snap out of it.

“Mh!” Xia Fei shook his head. “N-No, wait–!”

Vein stood still, only putting so little distance that he could look at the other’s face.

Damn.

Xia Fei looked at the demon’s face. It might be his imagination but Vein’s expression softens slightly. And what a damn attractive face he had– but was Xia Fei really this superficial? That easy? Having really no standard or shame at all to sleep with … this thing he barely knew?! This very attractive, muscular and handsome thing. Perhaps not… perhaps…

He threw his head back to let out a frustrated groan. “Ah, whatever!” He grabbed Vein’s face, who’s eyes widened slightly by the unexpteced touch. “Just don’t do anything weird.”

Vein’s smirk widened as he pressed his lips against Xia Fei’s again.

Tired, worn out and feeling completely boneless was Xia Fei resting on top of Vein. Both covered by a nice silky blanket, his breathing was slow and relaxed while the Demon King caressed his back lazily. Xia Fei wasn’t sure if demons had hearts but he was certain he felt Vein’s calm heartbeat.

“What do you think?” Vein asked him.

“Unfortunately… it was amazing…” Xia Fei confessed, embarrassed.

“Hm?” Vein chuckled. “That, I am certain of, but I meant which sacrifice do you want to choose.”

Xia Fei raised his head, confused. Turning around to look at the foot of the bed, he felt his face getting pale. Two ugly demons were standing at the foot of the bed, drooling and lumpy, grey and probably slimy. They were just standing there, no emotion or thoughts. Or maybe they did have thoughts, Xia Fei wouldn’t know.

“Oh god.” He groaned in disgust and pressed his face into Vein’s neck again.

Vein smirked as he watched Xia Fei, placing a kiss on the blonde’s temple. “Alright, then we go with both.” he said as he continued to stroke his back gently. His touch was surprisingly tender for someone who was supposed to be a Demon King. Not that Xia Fei minded, not completely at least.

Then he snapped his fingers, the demons squealing and then vanished. Xia Fei was just glad he did not see anything. He let out a long sigh against the demon’s neck.

After laying lazily on the bed for a while Vein told him that his servants prepared a bath for Xia Fei. “Alright…” He mumbled as he went to the fancy bathroom. Before Xia Fei could comprehend why demons would need to take baths too, something caught his eyes at the reflection of the bathroom mirror.

“Ha?” He turned around to check his back, his eyes widened. “What the hell is that!?” Xia Fei yelled, when he saw a mark on his back. Almost looking like a tattoo, covering his whole back.

“Don’t worry, that will fade and shrink over time.” Vein said, leaning against the doorframe.

Xia Fei approached the demon. “No- what is that?!” He demanded answers.

“The ritual is complete.” Vein simply said.

“Can you explain something fully once! What the hell this even means?! What happened to me with this?!”

“Well first, this makes you almost officially the Queen.” Vein shrugged, lazily. “The only part for that to be done is the marriage ceremony.” His eyes were hinting at something mischievous as he was having fun getting a reaction from Xia Fei. “Second, in order to stay with me forever you had to leave your mortality behind.”

“So I stop aging?” Xia Fei’s eyes sharpen.

Vein chuckled and strolled over to the other man. “See? You can be smart.” He patted Xia Fei’s head as if he was patting a well behaved pet. Then his sharp claws traced the side of Xia Fei’s face, his cheek down to his lips. Sharp nails pressing against the blonde’s soft lips. "And now… you’re mine for as long as hell burns."

“… Was that supposed to be romantic? You should work on your pick up lines– w-wait does that mean…” Panic rushed over Xia Fei. “With his mark… I–… did you impregnate me?!!”

“No yelling.” Vein leaned closer to bite his cheek.

“Ow!” Xia Fei flinched. Thankfully Vein’s sharp fangs did not penetrate his skin.

“You are not pregnant, no need to worry. Well for now at least.” Vein said as he rubbed the spot on Xia Fei’s cheek he had just bitten with his thumb.

“Not yet…because?”

║▌║█║▌│║▌║▌█

This was really happening. He couldn’t believe it. Is he really going to marry a hot Demon King and become his bride just to escape his poverty?!

… and the assignments he missed.

Damn right.

Xia Fei was dressed in white and black, ceremonial, rich robes as he stood before the infernal flaming court.  All demons– ugly and beautiful ones, weak and strong ones, gathered together to witness this day.

Xia Fei walked down the hellish dark aisle. Decorated in black and red flames, roses and other ornaments. Fortunately, the ceremony was brief. Vein stepped forward, fingers laced with Xia Fei. His smile gentle, his eyes proud as he gave Xia Fei’s hand a light squeeze.

Then they turned around, facing hundreds of demons, who were waiting for their King to speak. “I present to you your Queen.” Vein declared.

A roar erupted through the halls. “THE QUEEN! THE QUEEN! THE QUEEN!” the demons chanted as they bowed, their heads lowered in respect.

“What the hell…” Xia Fei mumbled to himself.

Suddenly, Vein squeezed his hand again, shifting Xia Fei’s focus back to him. The blonde gazed at the demon for a while, then he blinked, confused. "I just realized… where are your wings?"

Vein’s lips curled into a slow smile. "You want to see them?" He asked softly.

Before Xia Fei could respond, Vein’s massive wings burst open, stretching out in full glory. Xia Fei flinched in surprise, the demons chanting.

Vein chuckled as he grabbed Xia Fei, whose eyes widened as he pulled the blonde closer. With a powerful thrust of his wings, they launched into the air. “W-What are you– w-wait, don’t!!”

Xia Fei clung to him instantly. Arms wrapping tightly around Vein’s neck. Scared of falling down, he did not look beneath. “Not like that! I didn’t say anything about flying!” Xia Fei whined.

Vein only laughed, flying higher through the cavernous sky above the hellish towers. The world below glowed in deep reds and oranges. Beautiful yet terrifying.

But Xia Fei wasn’t looking at the view. His eyes locked on Vein’s face. The red haired man had no smirk this time. No cocky grin or mischievous smile. He had nothing but a soft warm expression on his face. Xia Fei could curse himself when he felt his heart skip a beat.

Xia Fei hid his face into the crook of Vein’s neck for a moment, still holding onto him tightly, his arms thrown over the demon’s shoulders. How ridiculous, he felt a warm fuzzy feeling in his chest. Embarrassed he looked at Vein again who was now looking at him with the same soft expression.

What kind of demon would look at someone with such mellow eyes? It didn’t make any sense. Not that Xia Fei was trying to find any logic behind the situation he was in.

He just accepted his fate. Leaning closer to Vein’s face he whispered against his lips “Lǎobǎn…” The kiss was tender and despite his fastened heartbeat, Xia Fei felt calm.

“Missed me?”

Notes:

Xia Fei is not Xia Fei if he does not call Vein his Lăobăn.

I wrote this as a side project for fun, so don't take this serious. (If you can even take this serious...)
