When Damian showed up at his Father’s residence, he knew it was a risk. His mother did not intent for their meeting to be so soon. She wanted him to train a bit more and experience more combat so he could easily subdue any pack members that threatened his place as next head alpha of his Father's pack.
However, she couldn’t have anticipated that he would form a pack of his own as soon as he hit maturity. He had no regrets, saving the life of the gift his Grandfather bestowed on him was far more important.
He knew this wasn't the future she envisioned for him or how she wanted him to meet his Father for the first time. Asking for a favor without proving his worth, please. She would be seething in rage if she knew. Nevertheless, he was here, hoping his father would take in a newly presented alpha pup and his omega companion into his pack.
Timothy shivered where he stood next to Damian, barely able to stand on his own. Damian originally planned to find a safe place for him to rest, just in case the meeting went south. Of course, the older omega stubbornly refused to let Damian confront his Father on his own, regardless of how physically taxing it must be on his body by now.
Timothy was already starting his heat and needed to be resting in a nest yesterday. But, they didn’t have much time to make their escape from the League after the claiming bite. Damian already felt like a failure of a pack alpha even thought it was meant to be temporary arrangement.
It was cruel to make Timothy push his body this hard when his instincts were probably screaming at him to find a safe spot and nest. He wished their circumstances were different, but life had other plans. All he wanted was to protect Timothy like the older boy had done for him the last few years.
He never thought the comfort omega his Grandfather gifted him would become one of his closest confidants, let alone friend (brothers really, though they kept that a closely guarded secret). He knew the omega's role would change once he grew older and presented. Timothy would be taken away and be a comfort omega for the League members instead.
He already knew that when he was away on missions, Timothy had to undergo training. Training that was delayed because Damian was still a pup and needed an omega around. He heard rumors that his Grandfather was personally overseeing the training of Timothy and it was hard to miss the scent of Ra’s that would linger around the omega’s scent glands.
The worst was seeing the bite marks near the older omega’s scent glands and the lingering smell of post heat. Tim never admitted what happened when he was away but he knew not all the trainings were combat related. His Mother reassured him that Timothy would be safe but, he was afraid that it was too late to save him from his Grandfather.
If he had shared a heat with Timothy then it must mean his presentation wasn't far off. His Grandfather made his intentions clear and his status us a pup wouldn’t be an option to shield the omega anymore.
The night Damian presented, he knew he had to act fast. Once his Grandfather was aware he lost his pup scent, Timothy would immediately be sent to the older man’s bedchamber. He had no regrets claiming Timothy that night and securing his protection under him as pack. He just wished that he had the time to properly take care of the omega and prove his worth as pack alpha. All he could do was get to the one person who could keep them safe from Grandfather.
Maybe Timothy could finally have a heat in peace now.
He made a vow to take care of the older boy, before he made the claim. Even though he was doing a poor job of it now, the older omega was trying his best to hide his discomfort. He could tell from the bond the omega was trying to suppress how bad his heat really was.
He couldn't stop the physical signs and his face was flush from the fever. Damian was worried that Timothy would need to be hospitalized if they didn’t get him in a nest soon. He must be close to a drop by now.
Damian wasted no time on knocking the door, helping Timothy stand upright. The older boy was barely lucid now but still managed stand his ground when the door opened and let out a protective scent. Making it clear that the younger boy was under his protection. He was proud of his only packmate, and grateful for lending him a bit of strength to face his Father for the first time.
He let the comforting scent ground him and his nerves calmed down enough that was able to confidently state his name and relation to his Father. Pleading to the man to take them into his pack, and keep them safe from his Grandfather.
He barely finished before he was ushered in by the man. In a flash, he and Timothy were fed and led to a pack nest, with promises of more supplies to help Timothy’s heat. As he laid in the nest, Timothy’s arms holding him tightly against his chest, he finally felt like he could relax. The scent that surrounded him comforted him most of his life and now there were new scents that promised the same.
He knew that there was a lot they would have to explain but for now, Damian wanted to take a nap with the one person he trusted the most. As long as they had each other, Damian had no fear of what the future may hold.
