This is more of a concept, and I’m not sure whether I’ll actually continue writing this or not. It depends on whether I get motivated enough to continue, and how it’s received.

Hope you enjoy!

It was no secret that Zeus, the King of the Gods, has had many, MANY affairs with other women -and sometimes men- over the years, despite being married to Hera. Because of his ‘habits’, he has ended up being the Father of many children in his immortal life, some of them were gods, some demigods, even some weird half-animal, monster-like things.

Maia, of course, had heard many tales and stories of the great Thunderer’s little ‘adventures’. But as the eldest sister of the Pleiades, it was her responsibility to look after the younger Nymphs and her sisters, it never occurred to her that SHE may be one of Zeus’s next ‘stops’-…. But here she is. Sitting in the middle of a forest. With a tiny, wailing baby cradled in her arms. What was she going to do?!

Maia was a reclusive woman, known for being shy and quiet- it wasn’t always that way of course-, she had mainly begun acting that way after the baby came into her life. She knew all too well what Zeus’ wife, Hera, would do to her, and her son, if she ever found out about their affair-. So, to avoid the Goddess of Marriage’s wrath, she retreated to a smaller, more mountainous region known as ‘Arcadia’, to hide both her, and her baby, from the gods. It was a paradise surrounded by beautiful mountains and hills, with large, grassy landscapes covered in a multitude of flowers and plants. All kinds of beings had found their home there: from wild animals, to Centaurs, and even other Nymphs. She found a cave on the cliff side, with a small entrance that was just big enough for her to walk through, but had a large, spacious interior. And that cave is where she, and her son, had lived for the past ten years. That was, until the supposed ‘safe haven’ she had selected for herself and her child, became victim to one of the many wars among the Humans… The once-beautiful, rich region known for its peace and tranquility, was now reduced to a mere shadow of its former, and true, self. Where tall, luscious trees once stood, was now jagged, splintered stumps. The waterfalls and pools where the younger Nymphs used to swim and play was dark and contaminated. And the vast green fields were the animals would frolic and prance around in, was now nothing more then ashes and rubble.

When Zeus heard of the incident in Arcadia, he was immediately enraged at the Mortals careless destruction and desecration. There used to be at least a hundred beautiful young Nymphs living there!- Just waiting for him to come down and— What a waste of women! But, being the amazing, handsome, drop-dead-gorgeous, best King of the Gods ever, Zeus just had to leave Olympus and inspect Arcadia for himself, there could still be beautiful women down there!

As he descended from the mountain, flying through the white clouds on his golden chariot, led by two giant Griffin-like creatures, and slowly landed in the dark, ashy wasteland that was once Arcadia, he was met with the sight of something -or, more accurately, someone- that he hadn’t been expecting…
