When Demeter had heard the rumors of Kore having a child, she wasn't going to stand idly and allow a Nature God to be raised in the earth like some common plant. She struck a secretive deal with her hated daughter, in exchange for the child, she will finally leave her and her husband alone so that they could have more children without her interference.
With seeing no other option for peace, Persephone chose to hand over her firstborn to Demeter. To be raised on Olympus.
Demeter built up a story of Zagreus being her and Zeus's son. He is raised to be his mother and father's sweetheart, and despite sometimes being naughty, he is well loved by all of his family. But it all comes crashing down when he is caught in the crossfire of a wedding dispute. The Chthonic gods become aware of Zagreus's existence. Olympus refuses to hand over their newest Olympian to the hated Chthonic gods, and a war begins to brew between the families, each with the goal of saving their son.

Soon enough, a person came into view, wearing a cloak that covered their face, making him unable to make out any features on their face.
Before he knew it, he was on their back, carried to an unknown place as his unconsciousness faded.
If only he knew what would happen and how things would take a turn. Not only would the person would become so important to him but he would enact his vengeance for those that betrayed him.

Demeter has a plan: kidnap Nico di Angelo, take him to her sanctuary in Eleusis, and give him the structure, discipline, and childhood no one else ever gave him.

While Hades awkwardly learns to be a father amidst diaper changes and tangled lectures, Nico's abduction triggers a chain reaction on Mount Olympus. Zeus, Poseidon, and Apollo decide they too can "rescue" their own demigod children.
But amid punishments, viral humiliations, and cups of warm milk, Nico faces something far more terrifying than his captivity: the discovery that a deeply broken part of him might not hate being cared for as much as he should.
A story about gods trying to be parents, parents trying to be gods, and a boy trying to find the difference between a cage and a home.

El problema es que Nico tiene catorce años, sobrevivió al Tártaro, y no está dispuesto a que lo traten como a un bebé. Ni siquiera cuando le ponen una pulsera que sella sus poderes, lo visten con mamelucos y lo encierran en una cuna de madera divina.
Mientras Hades aprende torpemente a ser padre entre cambios de pañal y sermones enredados, el secuestro de Nico desata una reacción en cadena en el Olimpo. Zeus, Poseidón y Apolo deciden que ellos también pueden "rescatar" a sus propios hijos semidioses.
Pero en medio de castigos, humillaciones que se vuelven virales y tazas de leche tibia, Nico se enfrenta a algo mucho más aterrador que su propio cautiverio: el descubrimiento de que una parte de él, profundamente rota, quizás no odie ser cuidado tanto como debería.
