Lando had been live for about an hour at this point. Max and him were playing Fortnite and they were just getting into it, winning more and more rounds. He glanced at the chat every once in a while and read funny comments about their gameplay out of the corner of his eye.
He was enjoying himself, relaxing into his chair. This week, Lando hadn’t had time to go online yet, but today he finally found the time to sit down in front of his set-up and persuaded Max to play with him.
They had just queued into a new round when Lando remembered a post he had saved earlier that day. It wasn’t some sort of fan edit of him, it was a tweet showing a photoshopped image of Max that Lando found endlessly hilarious.
“Max, open my stream for a sec,” he said giddily after minimizing his face-cam.
He only had to wait a few seconds before he heard Max scoffing through his headphones. “You’re such a prick,” he said, but his voice was laced with amusement.
Lando laughed with him and then went to tab back into Fortnite again, but Max’s voice cut through once more.
“Bob, that’s a sick cap. Where’s it from?”
On stream, Lando’s face filled the entire screen now, a slight frown on his face. He had forgotten about the cap on his head already. He had only put it on in a rush before going live because he had been already late and couldn’t fix his hair anymore.
“Um,” he mumbled and swiftly removed it from his head while trying not to knock his headphones to the floor. Once he had the cap in his hand and the headset securely over his ears again, he turned it around, looking for a tag. The only thing he found was a small logo on the side which he didn’t recognize.
“No clue, it’s Oscar’s. I can ask him later,” he answered, shrugging his shoulders. Before putting the cap back on, he held the logo in front of the camera for Max and his chat to see.
“Alright, mate,” Max simply said in reply and Lando made sure to switch back to Fortnite.
When he glanced at his chat again, he saw them all freaking out about the mention of his boyfriend. Their relationship wasn’t a secret anymore, not after they’d come out last year. Lando knew that his fans would freak out over any kind of mention of Oscar or interaction between them and he honestly found it ridiculous and endearing at the same time. Oscar hadn’t yet appeared in one of Lando’s streams, most evidence of their relationship was reduced to race weekends and posts on their Instagram accounts.
Lando smiled softly to himself and then set his focus back to the gam and bantering with Max.

Sitting in his sim rig was like being cut off from the outside world. He was focused on his movements, his neck straight, the muscles in his hands flexing where he gripped the wheel, his legs stretched to comfortably reach the pedals.
The interaction with his chat always lacked in streams like this, he only remembered that he was even live when he achieved a lap time he was satisfied with. Between rounds, he had to make sure to shake himself out of his tunnel vision to read what his viewers said about his performance.
This time, after he had loosened his hands and shook out his stiff arms, the messages that he saw were mostly mentions of his own name.
@landonorris read chat bro
@landonorris
@landonorris Lmao oscar’s gotta sleep outside tonight
That last one made him blink in surprise and he scrambled to reach his mouse. He scrolled through the chat and realized that a few messages weren't mentions of his own Twitch name, but of Oscar’s.
@oscar_piastri81
@oscar_piastri81 yr bf is such a dork😭
Lando clicked on Oscar’s tag to see his most recent messages.
oscar_piastri81 : Lando I forgot my keys
oscar_piastri81 : Let me innnnn
oscar_piastri81 : Is the doorbell muted or what
Lando felt his eyes widen, “Oh, shit. Wait.”
Before the words were even out of his mouth, he was already on his feet, nearly falling over the sim rig and stumbling over his own feet. Lando reached the door of their apartment in just a few seconds and ripped it open while pressing the buzzer to open the door downstairs.
When he heard Oscar ascending the stairs, he stepped over the threshold and moved towards the sound. His boyfriend came into view and he had an exhausted look on his face. He hadn’t slept well the night before and had been out with friends the past hours.
“I’m really sorry, Osc. How long were you locked out for?” The guilt in his voice was clear and he threw himself into Oscar’s arms, burying his face into the other’s neck. He felt Oscar’s arms wrap around his waist and silently exhaled a sigh of relief at the realization that Oscar probably wasn’t too mad at him.
“15 minutes, 20 maybe. I rang a few of the others’ bells but no one’s home,” he mumbled into Lando’s hair and slowly moved them both towards their apartment. Oscar let go of him when they stepped inside and he closed the door behind them.
“I’m sorry,” Lando mumbled again, but he noticed that he had to fight a smile that was beginning to stretch across his lips. He knew he shouldn’t laugh, he might’ve been halfway in the doghouse, but he couldn’t help himself. Even though Lando had ducked his head to hide his face, Oscar picked up on it.
“Really? You don’t look it,” Oscar grumbled and stepped into Lando’s personal space. He felt Oscar’s arms wrap around him again, pulling him in. This time, Oscar’s head rested in Lando’s neck and where he had expected kisses, he received small, teasing bites against his skin. He squirmed in Oscar’s arms and tried to push him away, but it was helpless; he was trapped.
After a few seconds of this, Lando was reduced to giggles, halfheartedly slapping at Oscar’s arms.
Once Oscar finally stopped his revenge, he breathed in deeply before he moved to look into Lando’s eyes. “I’m tired,” he said, a cute pinched expression on his face. This close, Lando could see the worn out lines around his eyes.
“We can take a nap, I’ll just have to turn off the stream first,” Lando answered, without thinking twice. The prospect of cuddling with his boyfriend in their warm, comfortable bed was pretty appealing.
“Are you sure?” Oscar double checked.
“Of course. Least I can do, babe,” Lando answered, surging forward to press a soft kiss against Oscar’s lips. It only lasted a few moments and then he finally untangled himself, pushing Oscar toward their bedroom. Then, he returned to his streaming room to say goodbye to his chat.
“He’s safe and sound, Chat. But I’ve gotta go make it up to him now,” Lando said when his face was in frame again. He threw in a wink for good measure and waved at the camera before cutting off the stream.

“You ready for Mario Kart?”
Max had convinced Lando to stream with him and a bunch of other people he either only vaguely recognized or didn’t know at all. He was slightly overwhelmed by all the different conversations taking place in the voice chat.
He had prepared his whole set-up so he wouldn’t be the person everyone had to wait on, but in that moment he realised he couldn’t find his controller. Lando’s eyes widened and he frantically looked around on his desk, under his desk, everywhere in his room. He couldn’t find it.
bro is NOT ready lol
what now lando😭
???
“Give me, like, two seconds,” Lando quickly told the others and then muted the call.
Lando reached for his phone and opened Oscar’s contact. This felt like the few times he’d had to call his mother when he was home alone, when he couldn’t find things that she was able to help him find from miles away. Shaking the comparison from his mind, he pressed the call button and turned on the loudspeaker.
When the call connected he immediately rambled on. “I’m on-stream. Do you know where I put my controller? The yellow one?.”
There was a short silence in which Lando imagined Oscar blinking a few times, his eyebrows creasing in thought.
“Um, living room? By the TV, I think,” Oscar seemed completely unfazed by Lando’s question.
Lando was already on his feet, hurrying to the living room. When he reached the TV, his gaze flitted over every surface and luckily, Oscar was right.
“Yes! Thank you, babe. Love you,” Lando replied happily after he had picked up the controller. He waited for Oscar’s answer, “Love you too, baby,” and then he hung up and returned to his room.
“I'm ready,” he informed both his chat and the others once he had sat back down and unmuted himself.
four
Every time they remembered the first time that Oscar had visually appeared on one of Lando’s streams, they couldn’t help but laugh.
Oscar had picked up on the fact that when Lando was deeply engrossed in a game, he could get pretty worked up about things that didn’t do the way he wanted them to. Or when the other players were being big idiots whose whole purpose is to get on his nerves.
Oscar had also picked up on the fact that when Lando gets worked up over things like that, he will get loud. Screaming and shouting and cursing, because even if that had never solved a single of his problems in the past, he reckons there’s a chance that it will this time.
His chat finds it funny. Admittedly, they aren’t in the same building as him and they can easily turn down their volume in case it got too loud. Oscar on the other hand didn’t find it as amusing. He was in the same building, in the same flat even, just a few walls separating the noise from him. He also assumed that their neighbours couldn’t possibly be pleased about it, but so far, no one has complained.
So, it was up to Oscar again.
Sometimes he would simply send Lando a text, telling him to keep it quiet, sometimes he would even enter his boyfriend’s stream chat to tell him, letting the other chatters bring it to Lando’s attention. However he would go about it, Lando would acknowledge it with a duck of his head in embarrassment and an endearing smile on his face. He would apologize and then make sure that he won’t disturb Oscar any further.
Today, Oscar thought he should have a little more fun with it.
It was still early in the evening and Oscar was sitting on the couch in their living room with a book in his hands. At first, Lando’s shouting came every 10 minutes, nothing too distracting. But a while ago it had become almost unbearable, impossible to focus on the words on the page. He’d re-read the same sentence for the fourth time before he finally decided he couldn’t take it anymore.
Oscar swiftly stood up out of frustration, only to freeze for a few moments because he didn’t even know what he was going to do. The book was still in his hands, but he closed it and placed it on the coffee table next to his phone. Normally he would just text Lando, wait a few minutes and then go on with his reading. Somehow, that hadn’t felt satisfying to him in that moment.
However irrational the thought, Oscar wanted to see his boyfriend. They had spent the entire day together and Lando had only been streaming for about two hours, but Oscar missed him.
He has never been in front of the camera in Lando’s livestream. They had talked about it only briefly before. That Oscar could join Lando any time he wanted. Lando didn’t pressure him and he has never been disappointed with Oscar when he refused. He surely wouldn’t mind if he crashed his stream now, right?
So, willing himself not to think about it too much, he rounded the couch and walked down the hallway to Lando’s streaming room. Oscar was in luck that the camera was angled in such a way that the door couldn’t be seen. It stood open already, which explains why the sounds were so loud.
At first, Oscar just stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed in front of his chest. Again, he was lucky no one could see him, because he was sure that he had a, though exasperated, lovestruck look on his face, fondly staring at Lando and how he acted in this atmosphere.
Oscar didn’t tune in to Lando’s streams often, not when he was in the same place as him anyway. Sometimes, when their schedules didn’t allow them to be together, he would watch whatever Lando was doing in order not to miss him too much. Not that he would admit to doing that.
Now, Oscar still didn’t have a masterplan on what to do, but he decided he couldn’t do much wrong in sneaking up on him. He pushed himself off the doorframe, relaxing his arms without lowering them. He slowly moved forward and tried to keep out of frame, despite not knowing where it started.
Lando had just let out another loud curse, his hands momentarily lifting off the keyboard and mouse in exasperation.
Seconds later, Oscar was already right behind him, surely he could be seen now from where he stood. He braced himself and then seized his opportunity by pushing his hands towards Lando, making contact with his shoulders.
The other man flinched violently, obviously not having expected the contact. Simultaneously, he let out a loud yelp and somehow managed to toss his headphones off his head. For a few seconds he was frozen, his shoulders and head pulled down, hands in the air, headset hanging down his chair.
“What the hell!” Lando exclaimed when he finally caught himself again. His head whipped around to look behind himself.
Oscar still had his hands on his shoulders, though he moved them down towards his arms in what he hoped was a soothing motion. He desperately wanted to keep a straight face, but once he saw the starstruck look on Lando’s face, he couldn’t help himself any longer.
The room wasn’t filled with Lando’s cursing anymore, but with Oscar’s full-belly laughter. Lando just looked more confused with every passing second, but the hint of a smile was visible as well. Oscar ducked behind Lando’s chair, hiding himself away while he tried to get his laughter under control.
“What’d you do that for, you muppet?” Lando asked while retrieving his headphones and straightening up in his chair again.
Oscar was still giggling like a madman, but he straightened himself up as well, sliding his hands from Lando’s shoulder toward his chest. He let them rest against his pecs and then tried to hide his smile in Lando’s curls, pressing close.
“Sorry. You were screaming the whole house down,” he softly spoke into the side of Lando’s head, amusement still evident.
“Oh,” there was a short pause, then “Sorry, Os. I’ll keep it down.” Lando’s voice sounded sheepish and a small laugh bubbled out of him before he could stop it.
“Alright,” Oscar said in reply and pressed a short peck to Lando’s temple. “Have fun.”
Just as he moved to untangle himself, Lando caught one of Oscar’s hands in one of his own. He pressed an equally soft kiss against Oscar’s knuckles before letting him go. With one last look at each other, Oscar returned to the couch and read a few more chapters of his book, completely undisturbed.
Later that night, after Lando had ended his stream, they were in bed together, ready to go to sleep. But before they turned off the light, Lando had shoved his phone towards Oscar to show him something.
It was a clip of Oscar’s jumpscare earlier. It made them both laugh again and Lando lightheartedly slapped his shoulder. Looking at it from this perspective, Oscar noticed something he hadn’t before: the way they had both looked at each other just before Oscar left the room.
It wasn’t a long moment, just a couple of seconds, it had barely felt significant then. But the sheer love on both of their faces was so clear that apparently Lando’s chat was teasing him about it.
Now, when Oscar looked up, Lando was already staring at him, the same expression of his tired face. Oscar leaned down to press their lips together. It was a gentle press of lips, Lando’s hand coming to rest against Oscar’s cheek to turn his head, their noses bumping.
“I love you,” they both said before falling asleep.
five
“Oscar!”
No reply.
“Osc!”
Still, no reply.
Just as Lando took a deep breath to shout his loudest ‘Oscar’ yet, the man in question appeared in the doorway of his streaming room.
“What?” He sounded concerned, his eyes darting from his face to his body and around the room.
“Do you want to order food?” Lando said, turning his chair so that he was fully facing his boyfriend.
“What?” Oscar’s voice was deadpan now, concern only slightly colouring his features now.
“Food?” is all Lando replied, waving his phone next to his face to make his point clearer. If it could even get any clearer.
“That’s why you alerted the entire neighbourhood? I thought you fell off your chair or something,” Oscar said as his shoulders lost all its remaining tension. Lando was fine. Just a huge pain in the ass.
“How would I fall off my chair? I have great core strength,” Lando grinned in reply, slightly swiveling his chair left and right.
Oscar only rolled his eyes at him. If Lando wanted to be funny with him right now, he would gladly play along.
“And you couldn’t have willingly got off your chair and come outside to ask me?” Oscar got comfortable in his place by the open door.
“No, that would’ve meant walking,” Lando replied smartly, the grin still firmly set on his face.
“It has wheels. You could've rolled to me,” Oscar insisted, making sure his voice sounded sincere, as if that was an honest request for next time.
And apparently, for Lando it was, because he took off his headphones, placed them on his desk and pushed off to roll towards Oscar.
Oscar lost some of his composure as a surprised laugh made its way past his lips.
A couple seconds later, Lando was sitting right in front of him, leaning back in his chair and grinning up at him.
Oscar was pretty sure that they couldn’t be seen in Lando’s stream right now, but surely their voices were being picked up by the microphone. Oscar decided he didn’t care, the sight of Lando, silly and relaxed in front of him, was taking up most of his brain right now.
“Wanted to see you,” Lando admitted quietly, his grin turning into something softer, his eyes gleaming up at him. He didn’t seem to care either.
Lando reached out his hand and Oscar did the same. He stepped closer until he stood between Lando’s spread knees, their entwined hands hanging between them. Oscar returned his boyfriend’s smile.
“Could’ve come to me then,” Oscar said, laughter on his tongue. He was winning the menace-off they were having.
“Osc,” Lando groaned, dragging out the ‘o’ and letting his head fall forward. It landed against Oscar’s chest and while he only laughed in reply, he lifted his other hand to run his fingers through Lando’s hair.
After a short silence, Oscar gave in, “I could eat.”
About 30 minutes later, while Lando went back to his stream and Oscar returned to the living room, the doorbell rang. Oscar got their food, tipped the delivery guy and headed toward Lando’s room.
“Delivery,” Oscar announced. This time, he stepped into the room and walked until he reached Lando. The other man turned around again and made grabby hands into the direction of the bag Oscar was holding.
“Sit with me?” Lando asked, and Oscar could see how hopeful he was.
“Of course, Lan,” he smiled in reply. How could he deny him that simple request?
So, Oscar retrieved himself a chair from the other room and sat down next to Lando. While they ate, he could practically feel the glee radiating from him while he talked to both Oscar and his chat.

osc

Lan

They passed each other in the hallway and Oscar only grinned in silent reply to Lando’s raised eyebrows. Oscar brushed his hand along Lando’s arm and then hurried towards his streaming room. It was Lando’s family that was at the door. Together with Oscar, they had organised a surprise visit for their boy. Lando was always at his happiest when his family was there, and they hadn’t seen each other in a while.
Now Oscar just had to get through the unexpected request of sitting in Lando’s stream. It was a small price to pay, if he really thought about it.
He entered the room and, having psyched himself up on the way there, he sat down on Lando’s chair. He didn’t say anything at first, only waved at the camera. Very entertaining, he thought.
“Hi. Well, Lando’s occupied right now, so. How’s it going?” He slightly cringed at his own words.
OMG HII
hiiii
How are you!!
u look so good
When will you start streaming yourself?
That last one made him chuckle. Oscar had never had the urge to expand his media presence by getting into streaming himself. He wasn’t much of a gamer and wasn’t sure how he would spend two, three or even more hours amusing such high numbers of live viewers. He was well media trained, of course, but this seemed vastly different from a post race press conference.
Lando was great at it, and he greatly admired his ability to sit through this and the fun he had while doing it.
“Probably never. Appearing in Lando’s streams is nerve wrecking enough. I have no clue how he does it, he’s really good at this,” there was a soft smile on his face and it seemed that the chat realized it even before he had.
thats so cuuuute omg
HE’S BLUSHING
I love you sm Oscar
“But it’s all really sweet, I see why he likes it.”
Luckily, Oscar only had to endure a few more minutes of this. The chat called him various versions of cute and hot and seemed to enjoy everything he said, no matter how little it actually was.
Lando came bouncing back into the room and immediately threw himself at Oscar, wrapping his arms around him. The position was a little awkward, with Lando standing in a crouch and Oscar sitting down, but he hugged back just as tightly.
And then, to probably everyone’s surprise, Lando dropped down into Oscar’s lap with a giddy grin on his face. Oscar’s own arms came around to lightly rest his hands on the other’s waist.
“Chat, Oscar planned the best surprise ever so we’ve got to go now! Byeee,” Lando rushed out in one breath and turned off the stream in just a few clicks.
When he was done, he jumped up again and pulled Oscar with him, tugging him in another crushing hug.
“You’re the best. Thank you so much,” he breathed out. And then, just as quickly, he pulled back and tugged at Oscar’s hand to drag him towards the living room where his family waited.
It nearly gave Oscar whiplash, but he reciprocated each of Lando’s movements as best as he could. He loved seeing him like this. In his opinion, a happy Lando was the most wonderful sight one could endure and Oscar felt like the luckiest man in the world to witness it so freely.
In the evening, after they had all spent a lovely day together, Lando posted a picture on his Instagram story: his whole family, including Oscar, sat on the big couch in their living room, all laughing and talking. He captioned it with a red heart. He turned his phone off for the rest of the night. He had all he needed right there.
