Nice had always loved high places, that's why he was thrilled the day he discovered one of his abilities as hero was flying; after all, he finally was able to dive into the sky he always stared at.
But now, sitting at the edge of that building still under construction, he wasn't staring at the clear blue sky, but the hard ground several stories down. Whenever he had to fly, the albino never feared to fall, but now the desire to push his body that couple of inches seemed Like the next logical step.
What he did the previous night, what he attempted to do... Every single memory of what it was and what didn't get to be were eating him alive.
Why? Why did he agree to do something like that? Why did he volunteer?! This wasn't like him at all! He didn't want to hurt anyone!
Actually, the reason he accepted to become a hero in the first place was because he wanted to save people, to protect the lives of those in danger because he couldn't protect his parents; he wanted to protect their smiles because he couldn't protect his own.
But could he really call himself a hero after what he did?
And the fact that he willingly did it made things so much worse, because he didn't do it for a greater good, but because of his own selfishness, because he was scared...
If he didn't do what Mr Shang wanted him to do, he'd be put aside, he'd be forgotten, he'd be alone again...
But, he was still alone now, wasn't he? Was there a reason for him to exist when he betrayed himself and the teachings of his family? Could he continue living with himself knowing he was willing to become a killer just to be allowed to stay close to the man he grew to see as some kind of father?
He really started to contemplate taking the fall...
