Chapter Text

Karasu woke up from the sound of birds chirping outside.

It was two days before summer break was over and school’s started again.

He was gonna enter high school this year which he wasn’t really looking forward to, since he had heard some not very nice stories from his older sister.

After taking a few minutes to stare at his ceiling and think about the day ahead Karasu got up from his bed and stretched before going to the kitchen.

There he found his older sister and his mom talking while his grandma made tea for herself.

Karasu’s mom was the first to notice him.

“Good morning.” She smiled at him and he gave a small smile back.

“Mornin‘.” He greeted back before entering the bathroom, leaving the other three to talk.

After carrying on with his usual morning routine and eating breakfast he was headed back to his room when his mom called out to him.

“Hunny? Can yer find some time to go to the store today?” She asked sweetly.

“Hm? Yea, sure, what ya need?” Karasu turned with his hands in his pajama’s pockets.

“Thank you, I’ll give you a list.” His mom smiled brighter and went off to get a pen and a paper.

Karasu sighed and proceeded to his room to get ready.

He picked out some clothes to wear and sat down on his bed after getting dressed.

After a bit of scrolling on his phone he decided his mom was probably ready with the shopping list and left his room to go to the kitchen again.

There, he spotted his mom chatting with his grandma.

“Mom? Can I have the list?” He asked, interrupting their conversation.

His mother turned to him, a bit startled, and handed him the piece of paper.

“Yes, here yer go. Again, thank ya, darlin’.” She said as she also handed her son some money for the stuff.

“It’s nothing. Anyways, I’m off now, bye ma.” Karasu exited his house and began walking to a seven eleven nearby.

In a few minutes time he was there.

He stepped in and after getting a cart he started off the top of the shopping list.

“Eggs…” he muttered to himself as he read the first item on the paper. Specifically two six-packs.

He continued getting the items and once he was done he pulled up at the register. He took out his card to pay as the employee he hadn’t seen before, a boy that looked around his age, scanned his items.

This is probably a part time job for him. Karasu thought.

As he was waiting, he observed the boy’s bizarre hair. It was white but with a dark green stripe reaching his cheek.

They boy looked up from the items he was scanning. “Do I have something on my face? Or am I just nice to look at?” The boy behind the register had noticed Karasu’s intense gaze on him.

“Huh? Don’ be so full on yourself, and I don’t like guys like that. I was just thinking.” Karasu slightly raised an eyebrow at the other guy’s confidence.

He glanced down at his uniform and read his badge. Otoya Eita, it wrote.

Otoya shrugged. “Whatever helps you sleep at night...You can tap.” He gestured to the machine and Karasu payed with his card.

“Again, I was just thinking. Nothing else.” He said before picking up the groceries and walking off.

“If you say so…” Karasu heard him mumble before he started assisting the next costumer.

“He’s kind of an ass…but also fun.” Karasu thought as he walked home.

Later, at night, his mind couldn’t stop drifting to that Otoya guy. He tried a bunch of sleeping positions yet he couldn’t seem to be able to sleep at all.

After some thought he let his curiosity get the better of him and he searched the guy on Instagram.

Not a long time of searching later he found him and discovered he had a small following. He checked and as he thought, most of his followers were women.

Even with his weird choice of hair, Karasu himself couldn’t help but think the guy was attractive, so surely he had girls after him.

He looked through his page more and after fulfilling his curiosity he could finally fall asleep.

The next day passed with not anything interesting happening. He talked a bit with Hiori about tomorrow but other than that it was pretty boring.

Then, came the first day of school.

Karasu got up at about seven am to get ready for the day. After completing his usual morning routine he wore the clothes he picked out from last night and went on his way for school.

He arrived at eight fifteen am. Hiori spotted him and walked over with another guy. He looked the same height as Hiori and had brown hair and glasses.

“Hey, Karasu!” The feminine looking boy greeted.

“Good mornin’ Hiori. And yer are?” He looked at the other boy.

“Yukimiya Kenyu. Pleasure to meet you, Karasu.” Yukimiya extended his hand for Karasu to shake.

“Yeah, same here.” He took his hand and shook it.

“I only just met Yuki, a few minutes before you arrived.” Hiori mentioned to Karasu.

“That’s right. We were both waiting and he started a conversation.” Yukimiya added.

Karasu raised an eyebrow. “Waitin’?” He questioned, curious.

“Well I was waitin’ for yer and he was waiting for his friend.” Hiori answered.

“Speak of the devil.” Yukimiya waved over at someone behind Karasu.

The raven haired boy turned around and was surprised to see the same person from the store.

As Otoya reached the group he noticed Karasu. “Hey, you’re the weird haired guy from two days ago.” He pointed at the other’s hair.

“Huh? Dude, ya can’t be talkin’…” Karasu crossed his arms.

“You know each other?” Yukimiya looked between the two of them.

“Well ain’t that nice? We can be like a little friend group.” Hiori said, mostly to Yukimiya.

Yukimiya hummed in approval. “How’d you two meet?” He directed his gaze on Otoya.

“I met him at the seven eleven I started working at.” Otoya replied simply.

A moment of awkward silence followed.

Hiori decided to be the one to break said silence. “Well, my name’s Hiori and he’s Karasu.” He gestured to himself and Karasu. “And yer are?”

“Otoya.” The shorter man introduced himself and gave Hiori his hand to shake.

Hiori took his hand and smiled brightly. “Nice to meet ya, Otoya.”

Then, as if on cue, the bell rang and the four made their way over to the gym for the school’s opening ceremony.

They were each assigned their seats and lockers and got welcomed by their homeroom teachers

Karasu, Otoya and Yukimiya were all in class 1-A while Hiori got separated from them and got put in 1-C.

After the introductions they met up again and Hiori immediately started complaining.

“C’mon Hiori, it’s not all that bad. We’ll talk at lunch. Plus I don’t think you’d want to be talking in the middle of class.” Yukimiya tried his best on comforting Hiori.

“It’ll be so boriiiiing…” He put his arms around his neck and pretended to choke himself. “I hate this.”

“Calm down, snowflake, just make a new friend in there an’ you’ll be fine.” Karasu suppressed a laugh at Hiori’s expression.

Before Hiori could respond Yukimiya talked again.

“Yeah, he’s right, I’m sure there’s nice people in your class, that will love to be friends with you.”

“There’ll probably be people who don’t have friends either.” Otoya added.

“I have friends! And you three can’t talk, you’re literally all together…what the hell have I done to deserve this…” Hiori huffed.

“On a happier note, do you guys wanna hang out right now? Since we don’t really know each other that well.” Yuki tried drifting the conversation.

“Sure, I can.” Karasu said and Otoya agreed.“Me too.”

Hiori stopped his fast pace and thought for a couple seconds before answering. “Yea, I think I can, too.”

“Great! You wanna go for karaoke?” Yukimiya smiled and asked.

The three others agreed and so they started walking to a karaoke place.

After arriving, they rented a room and sat down.

They ordered some snacks while choosing a song.

First up went Otoya, singing “Cinderella boy” by ‘Saucy dog’ in a very dramatic way.

After an hour or so Hiori and Yukimiya had to go home so only Otoya and Karasu were left.

They were both a bit tired so they decided. For a few songs before they leave as well.

“You wanna do PonPonPon?” Otoya smirked a bit as he asked Karasu.

“Really…? That’s what you chose?” The taller boy sighed. “Sure, why not, kelp head.”

“Alrigh- Wait, kelp head?” Otoya said, offended, after realising what the other said.

“Yea, cause it looks like ya have a piece of kelp on yer head.” Karasu grinned at Otoya’s visible annoyance, as much as the shorter tried hiding it.

“Then I’ll call you Kakasu, cause your hair looks like shit.” Otoya said before choosing the song “PonPonPon by ‘Kyaru Pamyu Pamyu’.

“Yer- whatever…” He got up from the chair he was sitting on and took his place next to Otoya.

They sang the whole song, Otoya struggling to stay serious while Karasu looked at him, amused.

After finishing up a few more songs that Otoya picked and Karasu had no say in they exited the karaoke shop.

“So which way are yer headed?” Karasu asked.

Otoya pointed to the direction karasu was gonna go and the taller boy furrowed his brows.

“…are ya sure, kelp head?” He raised a brow, thinking Otoya was messing with him. But how would he know where Karasu lived?

“Yes, I am, shit head. Why?” Otoya put a hand on his hip.

“Cause that’s were I’m goin’.”

“Oh. Well then, I guess you’ll have company.” Otoya shrugged and started walking.

Karasu rolled his eyes before he stared walking with him.

After arriving home and getting into his pajamas, he sat on his bed, thinking about the day he had.

This Otoya guy could be annoying, but he was pretty interesting. What really bothered Karasu was the fact he kept popping into his head.

Notes:

I hope that was a good ending. Also I wanna add more ships but I don’t really know what to add so if you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate it!!
