The movie "beetlejuice" plays on a small box TV.
McNamara watches while eating popcorn, she isn't sharing.
Duke pets veronicas cat, while not paying attention to the movie.
chandler silently judges veronicas movie choice.
then suddenly veronica quietly groans.
"you picked the movie, whats the problem now?" chandler asks with annoyance clear in her tone, Veronica replies with "the shadow man that appear in my closet is back again"
McNamara looks at her like shes crazy, then says "the fucking what is in your closet??" with a lot of concern in her voice,
Veronica replies with "the shadow man. do you not see him? look" she points towards her closet which was left open. the heathers see nothing.
"How often does this shadow man appear in your closet exactly?" Chandler asks with a strange amount of concern in her voice,
Veronica replies with "every night around 3:30 and stays until 6:25. i hear him whisper sometimes but i can never hear what hes saying"
chandler replies with "thats creepy as hell"
McNamara awkwardly says "uh how about we forget about the shadow man and get back to the movie" she grabs another handful of popcorn and shoves it into her mouth.
They continue watching the movie.
Mcnamara and chandler both still a little creeped out from the whole “shadow man” thing.
Duke wasn't listening to the conversation so she didn't care. She's still petting Veronica's cat, who has now crawled into her lap.
Eventually Duke and Veronica fall asleep,
leaving McNamara and Chandler alone.
“Do you think that shadow man guy is a ghost or something?.. Do you think Veronica can see ghosts?” mcnamara asks.
Chandler responds with “im not sure, but whatever it is, it needs god”
Mcnamara says “i thought veronica was an atheist, how is she gonna get god if she doesnt believe him?” with a bit of confusion in her tone, chandler replies with “i was being sarcastic”
Mcnamara says “that makes a lot more sense”
They stare at each other for a few minutes then mcnamara says “im gonna go see if theres any snacks in the kitchen” chandler says “but you two family size bags of pop corn like ten minutes ago”
McNamara replies with “so? I'm hungry again. I’ll be back”
Then she gets up and leaves the room.
Chandler returns to watching, and judging the movie.
Veronica starts waking up, and while half asleep she mumbles “the shadow in the closet is moving closer” then falls asleep again.
Chandler glares at her, then shifts her vision to the closet.
‘Hell does she mean by that?’ chandler thinks to herself.
‘Shes probably just having a bad dream.. At least I hope its just a bad dream.” Chandler mumbles.
She goes back to watching the movie, and occasionally glancing at the closet.
After a while the fire alarm starts going off.
Duke wakes up in a panic, then says “whats going on? Whats the noise?!” confusion is clear in her tone.
Chandler replies with “calm down, heather its just the fire alarm.. We should probably leave. Wake up veronica, i’ll go get heather” ,duke responds with “‘kay”.
Chandler gets up and leaves the room to get mcnamara from the kitchen.
She walks into the kitchen, and sees McNamara sitting on the floor asleep. The microwave is on fire.
“Goddamn it, heather. Wake up!” chandler yells. Mcnamara blinks awake, yawns, then says “whats goin’ on?” chandler replies with “you set the microwave on fire, dumbass”
“I did? Oh well we better get out of the house then” mcnamara says sleepily, then stands up.
They both walk outside of the house, and see duke standing by the mailbox with Veronica in her arms, sleeping. Veronica's parents are standing next to Duke, her dad is half asleep, and her mom looks pissed.
Chandler and McNamara walk over and stand by duke.
Mcnamara says "couldn't get her to wake up?” referring to Veronica, who is asleep in Duke's arms.
Duke replies with “nope” and then she yawns.
Veronica's mom walks over to them and says “care to tell me who set my microwave on fire?” anger and annoyance is very visible in her tone.
Chandler says “heather did it”
Veronicas mom blinks then says “three people here are named ‘heather’ please be more specific”
Chandler replies with “mcnamara” and points to mcnamara.
Veronicas mom looks at mcnamara and then says “im gonna call your father to tell him what you did. Also next time you’re here stay the hell out of my kitchen ” then she walks back over to where she was originally standing.
“Damn, you lost kitchen privileges” duke says.
“Not even just cooking privileges, full on banned from the kitchen” Chandler adds on while snickering.
Chandler then asks “wait what are we doing about the fire?”
Duke replies with “oh Veronica's parents called the fire department because the wall behind the microwave also caught on fire, didn't you see?” Chandler replies with “no, i didn't see it.”
After a few minutes a firetruck pulls up and gets the fire put out.
After the firetruck leaves, everyone heads inside.
The heathers return to veronicas room, with Veronica, whos still asleep in Dukes arm.
“Hey, Heather, were you listening when Veronica was talking about the shadow man?” mcnamara asks duke, duke replies with “yeah, she told me about him a while ago, why?”
Chandler buds in and says “maybe because its creepy as hell”
Duke replies with “shes schizophrenic how is it creepy?”
Mcnamara responds with “she is? When did she say that?”
Duke says “yesterday, at lunch when we were planning this shitshow of a sleepover. Weren't you guys listening? She said she might see somethings and say something about it”
Chandler replies with “i stop listening after i got what time to show up”
Mcnamara says “i wasnt paying attention at all”
Duke sighs then says “of course you weren't”
Duke puts veronica onto her bed, then sits down on the bed.
“Im gonna go back to sleep now. Night”
She lays down next to veronica, and passes out.
“We really should start listening when we plan things” mcnamara says to chandler. Chandler replies with “yeah. We never will tho… well its been a long night. Im gonna head to sleep”
Mcnamara responds with “okay, i’ll do the same then. Sleep tight”
Its decently peaceful the rest of the night.
