Work Text:

It was the twelve day of summer crafty was in her tower drawing an picture of the smiling critters.

She hums a tune, her horn glowing softly as she adds delicate details to a piece. The tower is filled with canvases and sketches, each one unique and vibrant.

The sun streams through the stained glass windows, casting colorful patterns on the floor. She glances up briefly at the sound of footsteps, then returns to her work with renewed enthusiasm.

The footsteps grow closer. She sets down her brush and leans back, alert but not alarmed. Her ears twitch, picking up the familiar sound of her fellow critters approaching.

She calls out cheerfully, "Come in! I've been waiting for a muse to inspire me today." The door creaks open, revealing two members of the smiling critters.

Crafty chuckles at the sight of the mischievous duo. "Ah, you two again. What mischief are you planning this time?" She pats a spot next to her on the stool.

Catnap bounds over, tail swishing. "We're bored! Can we help you draw something fun?" Bobby nods enthusiastically, already rummaging through the supplies.

Crafty raises an eyebrow at the request. "Fun? I was just finishing up a masterpiece. But since you're here..." She gestures to a blank canvas.

The two critters look at each other with excitement, clearly not taking no for an answer.

Catnap grabs a handful of colored pencils and plops down next to Bobby. "Let's make it a masterpiece that will make everyone jealous!" Bobby grabs a paintbrush and a jar of glitter.

Crafty sighs playfully, "You two are going to get paint all over my supplies." She stands up and moves to supervise the chaos.

The paintbrush starts to dance in Bobby's hand, and Catnap begins drawing with a dramatic flourish. They start arguing over colors, their voices rising in pitch.

Crafty watches with a mixture of amusement and concern, knowing they'll end up with something... unique.

The arguing turns into a paint fight. Bobby accidentally splashes Catnap with a bright yellow streak, and the cat retaliates by covering Bobby's side with blue. Crafty quickly intervenes.

Crafty:"Alright, alright! That's enough. Let's keep it contained to the canvas."

The two critters look at her with puppy dog eyes, but she holds firm. "No more splashing. I need to see what you've created first." She points to the canvas.

Catnap reluctantly sets down his brush and Bobby takes a step back, admiring their combined work.

The canvas is a colorful blur, with random shapes and lines. Catnap pouts. "But it's not as pretty as what we wanted!" Bobby nods in agreement.

Crafty examines it closely, then smiles. "It's certainly... expressive. Though I do prefer a more coordinated approach."

Catnap sticks his tongue out. "Coordination is for the weak! We're creative geniuses!" Bobby giggles and nods again, her paint-splattered paws reaching for more supplies.

Crafty shakes her head chuckling, "You're both creative geniuses, but let's focus on something more structured for now." She hands them each a clean brush and some paper.

The paper gets passed around, and Catnap immediately starts doodling a heart and dogday but quickly erased the dog. Bobby starts sketching a stick figure with a crown.

Crafty sits back down, content to watch them work. She occasionally gives pointers on how to make the shapes more symmetrical.

The room fills with the sound of scribbling and occasional giggles. Catnap attempts to add a mustache to his heart, but it looks more like a lopsided caterpillar.

Bobby's figure is starting to look like a crown with horns, and Crafty can't help but laugh at their antics.

The sun sets outside, casting long shadows. Catnap stretches and yawns, then stretches his arms towards the sky. "I'm hungry!"

Bobby finishes her drawing and shows it to Crafty. It's a castle with a tiny unicorn on top.

Crafty claps her hooves together. "Ah, a masterpiece in the making. What do you think, Catnap? Want to make some sandwiches?"

Catnap nods enthusiastically, already drooling at the thought of food.

Bobby tugs at Crafty's sleeve. "We'll help make them!"

She ruffles his mane. "Of course you can. But first, let's clean up this mess." She gestures to the paint-splattered canvas and supplies.

Catnap groans but starts gathering his brushes. Bobby starts picking up the paper with a determined look.

The room slowly returns to order, though the smell of paint lingers. Crafty leads them to the kitchen, where she has a plate of sandwiches waiting.

The kitchen is decorated with more colorful art supplies and half-finished projects. Catnap snatches a sandwich and practically inhales it.

Bobby sits at the table, munching slowly and admiring the food. Crafty watches them eat, a warm smile on her face.

Catnap looks at the art supplies and then back at Crafty. "Can we keep some of these for our next masterpiece?"

Crafty thinks for a moment, then nods. "Maybe, but only if you promise to use them responsibly." She points to a corner where she's organized the supplies by color and purpose.

The two critters nod seriously, then dig back into their sandwiches. They finish quickly and start exploring the kitchen, looking at all the tools and paints.

Crafty follows them, making sure they don't touch anything that might break or stain.

Catnap finds a bottle of glitter and holds it up. "What if we use this for something special?" Bobby peeks over her shoulder, intrigued.

Crafty raises an eyebrow, "Glitter? That's quite the ambitious project. What do you have in mind?"

Catnap grins mischievously. "We could make a glitter unicorn! With sparkles and everything!" Bobby's eyes light up at the idea.

Crafty sighs, but can't help but be amused by their enthusiasm. "That's quite the task. But I suppose we could try."

They both cheer and rush to the storage area, pulling out more supplies. Crafty watches as they rummage through boxes, making a mental note to clean this up before bedtime.

Catnap starts pouring glitter into a bowl, spilling some on the floor. "Oops!"

Bobby quickly tries to clean it up, but more glitter gets spread everywhere. Crafty steps in and gently pushes them aside.

Crafty:"Let me handle this. You two focus on the unicorn. And no more spills."

They pout but obediently sit back down. Crafty starts organizing the glitter, separating it into colors and sizes. "Now, what color unicorn do you want to make?"

Catnap thinks for a moment, then points to a rainbow. "Rainbow unicorn! With every color!"

Bobby nods enthusiastically. "And a mane that sparkles like stars!"

Crafty laughs and begins mixing the colors together. "You two are going to be up all night at this rate." She adds some water and starts stirring.

The mixture turns into a shimmery paste. Catnap grabs a unicorn horn mold and starts filling it with the glue mixture.

Bobby grabs some pipe cleaners and starts shaping the mane. They work in harmony, occasionally bickering over who gets to add the finishing touches.

After a few hours, the unicorn is almost complete. It's a vibrant rainbow with gold and silver accents, and the mane is so thick it almost looks real.

Crafty steps back to admire their work, a proud smile on her face. "Not bad for a last-minute project."

Catnap holds up the finished unicorn. "It's perfect! We did it!" Bobby high-fives him, then they both turn to Crafty expectantly.

Crafty claps her hooves again. "Now you need to give it a name. Something creative."

Catnap thinks hard, then shouts out. "Rainbow Sparkles!" Bobby nods in agreement. "And a catchphrase! Like 'I glitter brighter than the sun'!"

Crafty rolls her eyes but can't help but smile at their creativity.

They both start chanting "Rainbow Sparkles! Rainbow Sparkles!" over and over, each time getting louder and more excited.*

Crafty sighs and says, "Okay, okay! But remember, it's not just a name. It's a concept. A spirit." They stop chanting and look at her with serious faces.

Crafty adds, "A spirit that will inspire others to be creative too."

Catnap nods solemnly. "We'll make sure it does. Right, Bobby?" Bobby gives a thumbs up. "And we'll protect it from any mean critters who'll try to steal it!"

Crafty shakes her head, but she can't deny their determination. She takes the unicorn and places it in a special display case she had prepared earlier.

She checks her watch and gasps. "Oh no, it's getting late. You two need to go to bed soon."

The sun has set completely now, and the tower is getting darker.

Catnap and bobby nods and started to walk back home

Crafty watches them leave, then looks at the unicorn one last time. "Sleep tight, Rainbow Sparkles." She whispers, knowing it's just a toy but feeling a connection to it.

The tower grows quiet, except for the occasional rustle of feathers from her bird friends. She goes to her room and changes into her nightgown, then sits on her bed, thinking about the future of the unicorn and its potential.

She suddenly hears in knock on her door. She jumps slightly, startled by the sound. The knocking is gentle but persistent.

Crafty stands up and walks to the door, opening it slightly. She sees a silhouette outside. It's Simonsmoke's outside.

Simonsmoke's voice comes through the crack. "Crafty? Can I come in? I need to talk to you about something important."

She hesitates for a moment, then opens the door wider to let him in. He steps inside, looking concerned.

Simon takes in deep breath."C.. crafty I..I need to tell you something ."

She notices his troubled expression and sits down again, gesturing for him to join her. "What is it, Simon? You seem worried."

Simon:"...w..well." He fidgets with his hands, clearly struggling to find the right words. The tension in the room grows thicker.

Simon:"I... I think I'm falling in love with someone."

Simonsmoke had been lost in thought, staring out his window at the starry sky. His mind kept drifting to a certain someone who had caught his attention recently.

He had tried to distract himself with work, but nothing seemed to work. The more he tried to push the feelings away, the stronger they became.

He finally gave up and paced around his castle, running his fingers through his hair in frustration. He couldn't stop thinking about the unicorn-haired female, how her smile made his heart skip a beat.

Simonsmoke let out a frustrated sigh and collapsed onto his throne, burying his face in his hands.

The more he thought about her, the more he realized how ridiculous it was. He was the mighty dragon of the nightmare critters, and she was just... well, she was just a girl. But there was something about her that he couldn't shake off.

He groaned and looked up at the ceiling, debating whether to confront his feelings or keep them hidden.

The hours passed, and he finally decided to take action. He stood up and walked to the mirror in his chamber, examining his reflection with a frown.

Simon:"What am I doing? She's probably not even interested in me."

He muttered to himself, but deep down, he knew that wasn't true. His eyes lingered on the image of her smile, and he felt a pang of longing.

Simonsmoke clenched his fists, his determination growing. He was Simonsmoke, the richest critter in the forest. He shouldn't be feeling this way about someone who was just a stranger.

But the more he tried to ignore it, the more he wanted to see her again. He needed to find her and... confess.

He grabbed his cloak and headed for the door, determined to search for her. The forest was dark and dangerous at night, but he was the one who ruled it. He would protect her if necessary.

He stepped outside, the cool night air hitting him as he made his way into the depths of the forest, his heart racing with each step.

As he walked, he could hear the sounds of the forest at night. The rustling of leaves, the chirping of crickets, and the occasional hoot of an owl. He kept his senses alert, scanning for any sign of her.

The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting eerie shadows that seemed to dance around him. He quickened his pace, eager to find her and end his internal struggle.

Simonsmoke finally arrives at her tower, his breath misting in the cold air. He looks up at the tall structure, his heart pounding. He takes a deep breath and knocks on the door.

-Back to the present-

Simon:".. crafty I....I love you."

Crafty's eyes widen in shock her heart skipping an beat. She wasn't expecting that confession at all.

Crafty:"You... love me? But we've only known each other for a short time."

Simon looks at her earnestly, his heart racing. "I know it's sudden, but I can't deny it. Every time I see you, my feelings grow stronger. I've never felt this way before."

He takes her hooves in his hands, his voice trembling.

Simon:"I've been trying to suppress them, but they keep coming back. I've been watching you work, your creativity, your kindness... everything about you."

Crafty's heart flutters, but she's still processing the confession. She squeezes his hands gently.

Crafty:"Simon, I appreciate your honesty, but we're friends. What if it doesn't work out?"

He nods, understanding her concern.
Simon:"I know it's risky. But I can't help it. I want to be with you, even if it means risking our friendship."

Crafty sighs, her expression softening. She looks at him with a mix of affection and doubt. "I don't want to lose you either. You're my friend, Simon. But love... it can be so complicated."

He leans closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "I'll do whatever it takes to make it work. I'll fight for you, Crafty. Just don't push me away."

She looks into his eyes, seeing the determination and love there. Her resolve weakens.

Crafty:"You're very stubborn, you know that?"

Simon gives her a small smile, taking it as a sign that she's considering it.
"And you're very beautiful. That's why I fell for you."

Crafty blushes slightly, feeling a mix of flattery and guilt. She knows that Simon's feelings are deeper than just physical attraction.

Crafty:"Simon, you're making this harder than it needs to be."

He chuckles softly, a hint of desperation in his laugh. "I know. But I can't help it. You're my gem, my greatest treasure. I need you in my life."

Crafty's heart skips a beat at his words. She can't deny that he's always been there for her, even when they weren't together.
"You're my friend too, Simon. But what if you get hurt? What if I hurt you?"

He cups her face with one hand, his thumb stroking her cheek. "I've already been hurt before. And I've learned to deal with it. But I don't want to lose you, and I don't think I could ever hate you."

She leans into his touch, her own hand covering his. "You're too good for me, Simon. I don't deserve you."

Simon shakes his head firmly.
"Don't say that. You're perfect in your own way. And I don't care if you don't think you do. I want to be with the real you, not the one who doubts herself."

Simon:"I'm not gonna say it again, crafty will you be my girlfriend?

Crafty looks into his eyes again, her heart racing. She takes a deep breath and says softly. "Yes, Simon. I'll be your girlfriend."

His face lights up with joy, and he pulls her into a tight embrace. He whispers against her ear. "Thank you. I promise I won't let you down."

Simon started to spin crafty corn in he's arms.

She laughs, surprised by his sudden enthusiasm. The spinning motion makes her feel dizzy and happy.

Crafty:"Simon, slow down! You're going to make me dizzy!"

Simon grins mischievously, holding her tighter. "Too late! You're stuck with my fast-spinning antics now."

Crafty giggles, playfully hitting his shoulder.
"You're such a dork! I can't believe I'm dating a dork."

Simon stops spinning and looks at her with adoration. "But you love me anyway, right?"

Crafty nods, her heart fluttering again.
"Yes, I do. Even if you're the most ridiculous person I know."

Simon holds crafty closer. Simon:"ca....can I kiss you?"

Crafty's breath hitches, her eyes widening. She looks at him with a mix of nervousness and excitement. "Yes, you can."

Simon leans in slowly, his lips hovering just above hers. The tension between them is palpable as he whispers again. "Close your eyes."

She closes her eyes, waiting for the kiss. Her body trembles slightly, anticipation building.

He finally closes the gap, pressing his lips gently against hers. It's a tender kiss, filled with all the feelings he's been holding back. His hands grip her tighter, not wanting to let go.

Crafty melts into the kiss, her own hands finding their way to his neck. She kisses him back with equal tenderness, pouring all her emotions into it. The world around them fades away, leaving only the two of them in this moment of pure love.

The star's twinkles above them with colorful light as the moon's moonlight shine's beneath the blooming couple.
