dreaming boy slipped in trance

Summary:

Sometimes Jungkook just ends up by himself, feeling a little small and super soft. And that’s totally fine! He knows exactly what to do. As long as he’s comfy, that’s what matters. Wrapping up in a blanket with a stuffie nearby sounds perfect. And if he gets some cookies and banana milk too, that’s even better! Honestly, no one takes care of him better than he does.

Work Text:

This is an empty day. No commitments, responsibilities, plans, or many expectations. It’s been a long time since Jungkook had such a valuable opportunity to himself. He’s determined to enjoy his own company and do what he wants. It's hard to say if another opportunity like this will come along any time soon. Adult life is so intense and unpredictable.

Without schedules or obligations, he wakes spontaneously and peacefully, without the anxiety of following a routine. This is so rare that for a few moments he doesn't know exactly who or where he is. Once he’s settled in, he just lies there, half-asleep and with a calmer mind. It’s a huge relief not to have to move, with the blanket wrapped so perfectly around him. Nothing feels better to him now than staying in bed.

Everything about his bed is captivating: the super soft blanket, the down pillows, and the firm mattress. Every day, as soon as he wakes up, he starts dreaming about getting into his pajamas and going back to bed. There’s no doubt that bed is one of his favorite places to be, and that will never change. Nothing beats the feeling of being all soft and cozy in bed.

If the world spins and time passes, he doesn’t notice. He just remains there, lying still, without moving. He’s no longer sleepy; his eyes are open, or at least half-open, but he doesn’t bother to get up. To be honest, right now, he doesn’t worry about anything, and it’s wonderful, liberating, and sweet.. He can certainly get used to it. He can’t always have a quiet mind; when he does, it's a true blessing.

Lying in bed, with a calm mind and a light heart, nothing seems to matter. He doesn’t feel hungry or need to go to the bathroom. Actually, his stomach is so still it feels like it’s not even there inside him. Normally, anxiety never lets him forget this part of his body. All this stillness inside him is a sigh of relief amidst the chaos of everyday life. He wishes it could last forever.

This time, there isn’t a jumble of feelings vying for space inside him, as is usually the case. Nothing seems to truly bother him. All he feels is lying on a cloud, floating high in the clear blue sky, without any turbulence or distractions. This cloud is as soft and cozy as all the others. It’s like floating in a dream!

That’s how the world around him becomes so soft, calm, and silent. And it’s a wonderful feeling. Why was it taking him so long to get back to it? Or better yet, how had he managed to go so long without it?

His body slowly sinks into the depths of the cloud—or is it the blanket? It doesn’t matter. It’s so soft and comfortable. Incredibly perfect. So pleasant that he even starts to feel a little small and super soft. It’s almost inevitable. He’s so curled up, warm, and cozy that it’s hard not to feel a little small and very soft. It would be very unfair to blame him for that.

All the softness around him truly feels like a dream. A light, somewhat scattered dream, but still pleasant and comforting. But he’s still awake, which makes it all the better. He loves daydreaming, especially when it makes him feel small and protected. Right now, he doesn’t do it as a way to cope, but simply for his comfort, and that’s enough.

Lying down, Jungkook enjoys every moment of stillness, without moving abruptly, without noticing the passage of time. All he does is blink his eyes slowly, with a sleepy air, while breathing in and out slowly and gently. In, out, in, out. He’s so relaxed that he barely thinks about anything, lost in dreams as soft as cotton clouds. Inside, he feels soft and clingy, his tongue sweet as caramel, and his heart light and happy.

On days like these, nothing stops him from letting himself be carried away by this state of mind. He can be a little small, very soft, and even silly, if he wants to. There’s no reason to censor himself or put on a mask for others. He’s alone and more protected than ever in his own space. Nothing can stop him from dreaming a little, especially when he feels he needs it and has been waiting so long for it. Finally diving into his dreams is like a gentle breath after dark and troubled days.

Right now, just the idea of spending the day in bed with a blanket and taking a few naps seems amazing. When he’s like this, he's not picky about what he wants to do, nor does he have much energy to spare. Most of the time, what he does most is simply sleep with his blanket and a stuffie. If he’s already spent a lot of time in bed, he’ll lie down on the couch, choose one of his favorite cartoons, and start watching. In reality, what he does doesn’t really matter. All that really matters is that he feels light, comfortable, and protected.

So he just lies in bed, perfectly calm and peaceful, more than willing to let drowsiness take over him again. If she arrived, he would welcome her warmly, as if she were the embrace of an old friend. But something unsettled him inside before that could happen. A sweet, bubbling restlessness rises within him with a quiet force. Suddenly, his heart makes a special request, and his mouth fills with the desire for something sweet to taste.

It’s really hard to control the craving for sweets when he feels a little small and very soft. It’s like facing giants in a war. No matter how hard he tries to shake it off, he finds himself daydreaming about banana milk and chocolate chip cookies, as if it were instinctive. To be honest, any kind of sugar would be most welcome. As a child who loved sweets, it’s no wonder he still feels this way sometimes.

Sweetly, surrendering to this craving, he sits on the edge of the bed, a little dizzy, a little clumsy. His beloved blanket slips onto his lap, but it rests comfortably there. So, with his hands, he rubs his eyes to ward off the sleep, then covers his mouth to hide a yawn. Right now, he can’t be blamed for feeling a little small and lazy. He’s like a soft, sleepy teddy bear, dreaming of a pot of honey to feast on.

He sits there, a little slow, a little distant, trying to decipher his little inner world. He feels a little small and very soft, but his mindset doesn’t change. Even though he wishes he could act differently, he’s still himself, just letting go of his masks. He still knows how to take care of himself, and he can do it better than anyone. Right now, all he needs is to stay comfortable and safe. And, of course, find some candy. He can definitely do that!

The first step is to put on his slippers, making sure his feet are warm and protected. Of course, he does this with all possible concentration, because a little caution never hurts. If he’s a little small, then he has to be even more careful. And so, having succeeded in his first task, he looks carefully at his feet, hidden beneath the blue pajama pants covered in little white bunnies. It seems appropriate to swing them gently back and forth, and that’s exactly what he does before jumping out of bed.

Leaving his bed is always sad, but he manages to face it, just as he has every other day. Today, however, he wants to carry a little piece of it with him, so he quickly grabs his favorite blanket, super soft and decorated with sparkling stars, ready to take it wherever he goes. Right now, the blanket is like a magical cape, making him strong and brave like a hero. Of course, he couldn’t leave it behind, no way!

Jungkook is surprised to see his stuffed dog appear on the bed as soon as he removes the blanket. Oh, he’s sorry. Bam was under the blanket lying with him the whole time, and he barely remembered. How could he have forgotten? He should have remembered that he brought him to sleep with him last night. Bam was so soft and cozy, as always.

This is enough to bring a pang of sadness to his lips. He’s missed some great opportunities to cuddle with Bam! He feels bad about it. Like all dogs, Bam is loyal and a great companion. It wasn’t right to forget him like this. Bam doesn’t deserve this at all. He’s his best friend!

Jungkook made a mistake, and yet Bam continues to look at him as always, with small, round eyes that shine soothingly, as if to say everything is okay. This is how he knows, without a doubt, that he’s forgiven.

With a murmur of relief, he doesn’t wait and immediately holds Bam. “My baby, my baby,” he cries, his voice sweet and soft as an angel’s, clearly affected by his condition. Still, there couldn’t be a more fitting voice for him. Whether he’s a little small, a little too soft, or anything in between, sweetness always suits him.

Of course, everything feels better when he holds the blanket on one side and Bam on the other, right next to his face, like a double hug. The blanket warms one cheek, while Bam’s soft fur tickles the other. It’s good, good, so good. He simply loves it. Being with them is safe and good, as it always has been. He enjoys it alone, giggling softly and softly, until he tires of it. It’s never been so good to be a little small and a little too soft.

Outside his room, with his blanket and Bam in his arms, his place remains the same, but suddenly, he’s so excited to spend the day there. He can think of some cool things to do, but at the same time, just relaxing and doing nothing seems pretty good too. To be honest, he can do both easily, effortlessly. What a fantastic, wonderful day!

Immediately, he wants to run to the kitchen for candy. But if he goes to the bathroom first and brushes his teeth, that wouldn’t be so bad. Brushing his teeth isn’t on his bucket list. Hmm, definitely not. But, after all, it’s just a few moments in a day full of things he really wants to do. So, okay. He can handle it.

Before anything else, he decides to safely tuck his blanket and Bam into the couch, because it’s better for them to stay there, waiting for him. Being separated from them is definitely harder on Jungkook than it is on them. Still, he’s proud to have made the right decision for everyone. He did really well!

Even though it’s a little small like this, he doesn’t forget what he has to do. “Brush my teeth, brush my teeth!” he thinks out loud as he walks to the bathroom. Yes, he has the right to be silly like that. Also, when he talks to himself about what he has to do, everything becomes easier and more fun.

In the bathroom, he does everything he needs to, including brushing his teeth. Of course, he does it his way, which means half-heartedly and with little thought, but it’s good enough. If he does it too quickly, no one there will notice. The water and toothpaste stains on his white shirt aren’t a big deal either. In his mind, everything seems small and silly. And for now, he convinces himself it’s okay to think of things that way.

When he finishes brushing his teeth, his attention turns to the mirror and he sees himself exactly as he feels: a little small, very soft, and with a special sparkle in his eyes. Actually, his hair looks funny, the messy strands forming two almost symmetrical mounds, like little towers, but he doesn’t even bother to tidy it up. There’s nothing compelling him to do that today.

“Now, sweets!” he declares as soon as he leaves the bathroom, bursting with enthusiasm to run to the kitchen. His uneasiness about this can no longer be contained. He wants sugar, and he wants it now!

*

Attentive to everything around him as he heads to the kitchen, his place feels like a new, magical land waiting to be explored. It’s small and modest, but he loves it with all his heart. The reason is that he’s put a lot of effort into making every corner feel special, something he loves. That’s why there are colorful drawings he made on the walls and strings of gold stars hanging from the doors.

He thinks his house feels like a real home, and no one could deny that. To be honest, no one can blame him for making it a priority to make the space more welcoming to his inner child now that he has the chance. He does this only for himself, so it’s not for anyone to judge him. Also, he rarely has guests, so everything stays safe and exactly as it should be.

In the kitchen, Jungkook heads straight to the fridge for his beloved and incomparable banana milk. Having the opportunity to drink it is always something very special. He always gets butterflies in his stomach, anticipating finding banana milk waiting for him in the fridge. No matter how much more access he has now, the magic of each sip remains the same.

Fortunately, when he looks in the fridge this time, he still finds one last banana milk waiting for him. The truth is, there’s almost nothing else in there. It’s a little disheartening that he’ll have to organize his groceries soon. But for now, he doesn’t bother to keep that in mind. He definitely doesn’t need to worry about anything big today. He can enjoy his last banana milk at his leisure, and only then worry about the rest.

With banana milk in hand and his heart leaping with the sweet promise of happiness, he heads to the counter, or rather, to the cookie jar. Usually, he carefully considers how many cookies to take so they don’t run out quickly, but today, he doesn’t care. He simply opens the jar and fills his hand with as many cookies as he can hold without dropping any. Without a doubt, he has every right to be this happy.

To make things easier, he places the cookies on a white plate decorated with a pink bunny with perky ears and a smiling face. It’s one of the ones he saves for special occasions like this. Because it’s plastic, he wouldn’t mind if he accidentally dropped it. He would certainly be very disappointed if he had to clean up any mess or fix any damage that day. All he wants is to do things right.

“Slowly… slowly… that’s it, okay…” he guides his own steps as he holds everything firmly and walks to the couch very cautiously, with a balance that would make any tightrope walker envious.

He wouldn’t cause any accidents today. Anyone watching from the outside would be impressed by how careful he’s been. He can certainly be very proud of that!

Sitting on the couch, he sets the banana milk and plate of cookies aside, then kicks off his flip-flops and puts his legs up. After resting his back, he brings his knees toward his chest and props his feet up on the seat. Ahh, now he’s truly comfortable and relaxed.

Obviously, he’s a strong advocate of sitting with his legs tucked up. No one can convince him there’s a more comfortable way to sit. The social norms that require him to sit upright with his feet on the floor are irrelevant when he’s alone. It’s absolutely fair this way.

It doesn’t take long for the super-soft blanket to cover his legs, while Bam settles between his cheek and shoulder, firmly in his hand. Then, he lets out a sigh of relief and satisfaction, as if everything is perfect. But you know, there’s something that can make everything even better…

“Cartoons?” he wonders aloud, considering whether that would be a good entertainment option for the occasion. Of course, there’s no objection to that. “Okay, cartoons!” he decides immediately and without fuss. It’s great to be a little smaller and not think so much about things.

Resolutely, he keeps Bam snuggled against his shoulder while extending his other arm to reach the tablet that’s been sitting on the other side of the couch since last night, after he’d played with it. Of course, he ignores the TV, because the convenience of using the tablet is almost magical at this point. Besides, watching cartoons on the tablet has a special touch when he’s a little smaller. The screen is so immersive that he can barely look away.

Once the tablet unlocks upon recognizing his face, he just taps the YouTube icon to access a playlist of episodes of The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show. Clearly, he makes this choice entirely influenced by the special interest he’s had in Snoopy these past few weeks.

To be honest, rediscovering Snoopy was a true gift. Everything about him is so nostalgic and meaningful that it’s impossible not to feel deeply drawn to him. If Snoopy has become his lock screen and now his companion when he feels a little small, it’s because of a genuine interest that continues to grow and become increasingly special.

So, after propping the tablet on the arm of the couch, he finally starts the playlist. As soon as the episode starts, he pulls his legs up even further and leans toward the screen. Instinctively, he settles deeper under the blanket, while Bam rests comfortably between his shoulder and neck. Soon, the plate of cookies is on him, strategically placed on his chest, shortening the distance to his mouth so he can savor each cookie without missing any of the show.

From then on, everything flows smoothly and perfectly. The show’s short, simple dialogues are a relief, and the blend of sounds and colors inspires that softness and nostalgia he loves so much. It’s undeniable that Snoopy brings a special charm to it all. His every gesture in the show makes his heart laugh with pure and simple happiness. Even simple, it’s full of feeling and depth. Jungkook completely lets himself go.

The cookie crumbs in his mouth and the chocolate chips melting on his tongue make everything seem even sweeter and, therefore, even better. If he drops a few crumbs on the blanket, it’s not a big deal. With his eyes on the screen, he hardly notices. Everything is simple, pure, and magical, like a dream.

When the cookies are gone, he still delights in the pleasurable ritual of poking his banana milk to drink it with a straw. Without a doubt, using a straw always makes it more interesting for him. It’s part of the magic that surrounds it all. So he savors every moment of it, slowly savoring each sip as he watches the show. The sweet, fruity flavor spreads in his mouth, guiding him to the best places in his mind, where he can always lose himself in sweet, soft dreams.

Leaning on the arm of the couch, watching the show that interests him most at that moment while holding his banana milk, protected by the blanket and with Bam nestled against his neck, nothing can disturb his peace or make him feel bad. He loves all these little things so much and doesn’t need to waste energy hiding it. For now, he has the freedom and security to act this way. He can gently lose himself in the surface of dreams, protected and at peace. Nothing compares to that.

This is how he spends his day. Allowing himself to dream, to care for himself, and to heal. Alone, but nestled in his favorite blanket, and with Bam always there. A little small, very soft, and increasingly content with himself. He does such a good job, doing what he loves, taking care of himself. He can certainly be proud of that. Everything is beyond what he could have dreamed. Without a doubt, he deserves to have more days like this, where losing himself in dreams is simple, sweet, and so good.
