Chapter Text
Having been idols together for several years now, HUNTRIX decided to take a long-term hiatus from their activities while the honmoon is sealed. It was a well-deserved break after everything the three members have been through. Finally, the trio felt like they could relax.
After taking a month-long vacation to Jeju Island, the members decided to spend the rest of their hiatus at home in their large penthouse apartment in Seoul.
The August morning started just like any other day during a hiatus. Mira was the first to wake up, beginning to prepare breakfast for Rumi, Zoey, and herself. Cooking was something Mira enjoyed doing — but also she knew she could not trust Rumi or Zoey in the kitchen for the life of her. That would be a recipe for disaster. So, she was perfectly fine doing the cooking.
However, it was soon clear that this morning would be different. As the eggs cooked on the pan Mira put on the stove, the smell they emitted was overwhelming. She never truly believed eggs had that strong of a smell unless they were rotten, but these were not. The smell was enough for Mira to start to feel increasingly nauseous. She tried to ignore it, but she ended up politely gagging instead, heading off to try to focus on something else.
As soon as the toast was finished, Mira began to cut an avocado to put on it. She was immediately disgusted by the smell of the avocado as well, which made her wonder why her nose was so sensitive all of a sudden. Her stomach churned uncomfortably as she quickly cut the avocado, still careful not to accidentally cut her fingers. As soon as she placed the third slice on the last piece of toast, her mouth began to salivate and the taste in her mouth became both bitter and sweet at the same time. It was then when she finally accepted what was going to happen — but she knew she couldn’t leave the eggs cooking on the pan without anyone watching them. But to her luck, Zoey entered the kitchen just in time.
The youngest member seemed cheerful as she entered the kitchen, smiling over at Mira. “Good morning Mira! It smells good, as always!” She pointed out, but as soon as she noticed the pale, sickly look on Mira’s face, she paused in place. “Are you okay? You don’t look okay,” she asked with concern, her eyes widening. She spent enough time around Mira to instantly know when she was not feeling well.
“Watch the eggs,” was all Mira could get out before she made a desperate sprint to the bathroom. Zoey wanted to follow her to make sure she was okay, but she knew she had to do as Mira said. She had to make sure the eggs did not burn.
Luckily, Rumi was in the bathroom fixing her hair when Mira entered. As soon as she realized what was going on, she jumped into action. She stayed by Mira’s side as she vomited into the toilet, holding her magenta hair back for her.
As soon as eggs looked good enough to her, Zoey used a spatula to remove them from the pan, putting some on each plate set aside for the three of them. She quickly turned off the stove before rushing to be by Mira’s side like she desperately wanted to the entire time. She was relieved to find Rumi there, holding Mira’s hair back.
Zoey quickly realized that Mira’s glasses were about to fall into the toilet, quickly grabbing them off the pinkette’s face before they could. She then sat on her knees next to Mira, beginning to gently rub her girlfriend’s back.
As soon as Mira was finished, she let out a sigh of relief. Flushing the toilet as she looked back at her two girlfriends gratefully. “Are the eggs done?” She asked Zoey, seeming exhausted as Rumi let go of her hair.
“Yes, they are done. I remembered to turn off the stove too!” Zoey confirmed, which made Mira feel more relieved. She still could not forget that time Zoey nearly burnt the place down when they were teenagers. “But forget about that, are you okay?” Her eyes were wide, glistening with concern for her lover. Rumi was clearly wanting to ask the same thing, running her fingers through Mira’s long hair affectionately.
“I feel better now. I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” Mira muttered with slight frustration. “I felt fine when I woke up, but as soon as I smelled the eggs cooking I started to feel so nauseous…”
“It’s probably just a virus,” Rumi tried to assure Mira. “Get some rest today, we’ll take care of you,” she leaned over her kneeling partner and kissed the top of her head affectionately. Mira was grateful to have such caring girlfriends.
Mira took the rest of the day to rest with Rumi and Zoey both taking good care of her. It only took a couple hours for Mira to start to feel completely normal again, which was not typical for an illness but she was grateful nonetheless.
For the next few days, Mira continued to get sick at random times of the day. It made Rumi and Zoey start to worry for their girlfriend. This could not be a normal illness. There was something seriously wrong with their girlfriend, but they could not quite figure out what it was. So, by the fifth day, they decided to step up and do what was best for her.
“We’re going to take you to see a doctor today,” Rumi told Mira first thing in the morning. “I can’t handle seeing you so sick… we need to figure out what’s going on so you can feel better.”
Mira did not want to go. She hated going to the doctor ever since she was a child, her parents practically had to drag her there and hold her down whenever she had to get a vaccine. But she was tired of feeling sick, so she agreed on going to a doctor to find a solution. Regardless, she had no choice, as Rumi and Zoey already scheduled an appointment for her that afternoon.
So, they went to the appointment, fully expecting the doctor to say Mira had some sort of stomach issue. The doctor asked Mira plenty of questions and decided to run some bloodwork while Mira was there. The results of the bloodwork showed something no one was expecting, not even the doctor. So, the doctor seemed to be in a bit of shock once she returned to the exam room after getting the results.
“Congratulations,” the doctor started off. “One of the blood tests we ran was a pregnancy test, and it came back positive,” he shared with the trio. “Mira is dealing with the initial symptoms of pregnancy, For the most part she seems to be dealing with what’s known as morning sickness, though the name is misleading as it can happen at any time of the day,” he mentioned. “I can safely assume that she’s in her first trimester,” he explained to the girl group as all three of their jaws dropped. “I will put in a referral for Mira to see an obstetrician. For now, I prescribed some nausea medicine to help with the morning sickness.”
“Wait? How?” Zoey was the first to question, trying to put two-and-two together. “We all have vaginas. Doctor, how is this possible?”
“It is not my job to question that, but it is nothing we’ve seen before,” the doctor answered, deep in thought. “Unless Mira has been seeing a male partner.”
“Absolutely not!” Mira was disgusted by even the suggestion of that. She would not dare ever cheat on Rumi and Zoey, who were the loves of her lives. “I would never!”
“Regardless, Mira is pregnant and you must prepare for a baby,” the doctor deadpanned, not wanting to waste his time speculating. “Other than that, Mira seems perfectly healthy.”
Mira was understandably confused as the trio left the doctors’ office, walking together back to their apartment which was not far away at all. She could not properly process the news yet, but she now knows that they would have to extend their current hiatus to a longer period of time. Raising a child was not an easy feat, especially if their child ends up anything like herself. Hopefully the honeymoon stays sealed for that long.
However, Rumi’s mind was clear. She had a possible explanation in mind for how Mira got pregnant. It was the only possibility that did not involve Mira being disloyal. “It was the honmoon,” Rumi suggested, eyes lighting up with realization. “It shone bright gold while we had sex, remember?” She reminded her girlfriends. She had more knowledge about the honmoon than anyone else, having been raised by Celine. “That has to be how Mira got pregnant! The honmoon blessed us with a baby.”
“Oh, yeah!” Zoey seemed to perk up as soon as she remembered. “That’s got to be it! There’s no other way!”
“It seems like we still have a lot to learn about the honmoon,” Mira responded, agreeing that it was the only possibility. That particular night in Jeju, the three of them took turns for hours until the honmoon shone gold and became more sealed than it ever was. “I had no idea this was possible.”
Now that they had their most likely answer, the trio began to plan how they would break the news to Bobby and Celine, and how long they would have to extend their hiatus from music.
Pregnancy was not easy for anyone, but Mira handled it with ease, much better than Rumi or Zoey would have. As the fetus within her grew, more and more symptoms began to arise. As her morning sickness faded, the aches, pains, and scorching heartburn made themselves known. Thankfully, Rumi and Zoey knew how to spoil their girlfriend, always offering her back massages and always going along with her weird pregnancy cravings.
Rumi and Zoey were glued to Mira’s side, loving on her even more than they ever have. As soon as they learned that they were having a daughter (which should have been obvious), they began to turn one of their spare rooms, which used to be Mira’s solo room, into a nursery. They bought plenty of cute decorations for the room, wanting it to be personalized for their baby girl.
Some days, all the trio wanted to do was cuddle up and watch movies. So, they would cuddle on their couch, watching a movie on their TV as both Rumi and Zoey rubbed Mira’s belly, feeling all of the soft kicks within. Rumi eventually began to sing to their unborn daughter, which seemed to calm her down whenever she was especially active.
They all loved their baby girl so much already, and they could not wait for her to be born. They would make sure to give her a good childhood that none of them truly had.
Two days before Mira’s due date, it was time.
Mira was relaxing on the couch when she began to feel intense pains in her stomach, followed by the sensation of her water breaking. As soon as Rumi and Zoey realized what was going on, they made sure to rush Mira to the hospital. They were so prepared for this day, and now it finally arrived.
Mira’s labor was painful, the pinkette unable to help herself from nearly screaming from the pain on the way to the hospital. As soon as they arrived, Mira was brought into labor and delivery, where they quickly went to work. Mira was three centimeters dilated and the pain was already too much for her, so they went ahead and administered an epidural as soon as they could. Rumi and Zoey sat by Mira’s sides nervously, Rumi holding one hand and Zoey holding the other. They provided comforting words of encouragement as Mira gave birth to their baby.
After three hours of intense labor, the familiar wail of a baby crying could be heard. She was here. Their daughter was finally born. After delivering the placenta, Mira relaxed in the hospital bed, exhausted from giving birth.
“You did a great job, my love,” Rumi spoke gently, leaning down to press a kiss against Mira’s sweat-soaked forehead. “She’s here and she’s beautiful.”
Zoey was off to the side, admiring their newborn daughter. Their daughter was now over the stress of being born, sleeping in the hospital crib. The attending doctor watched her with a smile.
“You can hold her now, if you would like,” the doctor told Zoey. “She’s perfectly healthy. 3.6 kilograms.”
Zoey could not help but cry tears of joy as she held her baby girl for the first time, walking over to show Mira and Rumi. “Look at her. She’s so sleepy,” she sniffled, showing her girlfriends who both began to cry as well. “She’s adorable… I-I can’t believe we made her with the help of the honmoon.”
Mira, who normally did not cry so easily, was sobbing so hard she could not speak. However, she reached her arms out, desperate to hold their daughter for the first time. The little one needed skin-to-skin contact with Mira, after all. Zoey noticed and carefully passed their daughter to Mira, watching as she settled in her arms.
“O-Our little Byeol,” Mira sobbed, holding the sleeping newborn close.
When it came to choosing a name for their child, it was a long debate, especially since all three of them had different preferences. However, they eventually agreed on naming their daughter Byeol, which means star in Korean. May she shine bright like a star even in the darkest of nights.
As Rumi admired their daughter, she sobbed harder as soon as she noticed little strands of light purple hair on the top of her head. “She has my hair,” she pointed out in between sobs. “She has my hair… she looks just like me,” she repeated, sniffling hard. It was unusual to be born with purple hair like Rumi was, which she later learned was a sign of her demon side. She figured their daughter’s hair would be black, similar to Zoey’s hair and Mira’s natural hair color. However, it seemed like Rumi’s demon genetics won in the end.
A brand new chapter of their lives has just begun and they were more than prepared for it.
