Summary
Rem purses her lips for a moment as she seems to ponder something. “Do you need assistance?”
Misa swallows hard, shivering as the hot water down her back suddenly feels like it may burn her.
“I usually do it alone,” Misa mumbles back. “Washing, that is.” She giggles nervously and closes her eyes, thankful that she isn’t forced to watch Rem watch her, though the feeling of being stared at doesn’t fade.
In the quiet that follows, Misa runs over several possibilities in her head, playing out snippets of false memories. Every single one of them make her nervous, but the ones where Rem leaves her to herself are, somehow, especially embarrassing.
“But,” Misa starts quickly and opens her eyes again, confirming that Rem has yet to look away. “I wouldn’t mind. It’s hard to reach my back sometimes, actually.”
