Day 08 - Sea creature

Notes:

Mandatory fishie for the sea creature prompt, I think I don't have much more to comment than that hehehe

Work Text:

"Stop laughing and help me out of this already!" Rafayel whined, loud and demanding, as he tugged and pulled at net around his body. For the sake of your relationship, you had to bite down at the inside of your cheeks and hold back a laugh — but, my, what a sight.

You couldn't really blame Rafayel and, thankfully, he couldn't blame you for that either. After all, how could any of you know that this reserved, private spot on the coast was a fishing site as well?

You kneeled at the sand and right next to him, trying to untangle the ropes around his legs. "Stop squirming so much," you muttered, still unable to stop smiling.

"Can't you just cut it?" Rafayel sobbed quietly, feeling the net tightening around him as he tried to free his other arm. "You'll do a favor to the rest of the fishes in there, too."

"And what if the owner comes to check it? Who will pay for the damage?" You explained, but couldn't deny you didn't consider that option. There was no one around but the two of you, anyway, and a regular person would probably blame another sea creature — no human would be swimming that deep and make it out to complain about the net, after all.

The net went back and forth, its ropes spread out around Rafayel's body like a maze's map. You couldn't even tell what was up or down. "Maybe we should call someone…"

"Y-you can't!" Rafayel cried, shaking inside the net, "don't you dare leave me alone in here! You're my bodyguard, you shoul—"

"Relaaax, I won't leave you," you said, chuckling. Your head was about to burst from all that complaining, but you would never leave him like that. "I was thinking more of presenting you like a catch. A live lemurian would sure impress those old fishermen, eh?" You said, swiping a finger up his foot and earning a squeal from him.

"I-I'm not a catch!" Rafayel pouted, flailing uselessly inside the net.

"Are you sure about that? Because it sure looks like you took the bait," you teased, a little bolder this time as you tickled his restrained foot, then the other.

Despite the clear distress, Rafayel couldn't stop himself from laughing. His furrowed brows contrasted the annoyed smile that pulled at his lips. "H-hehey! Thahat's not fahAHAhair!! Ahaha, s-stohohop it!"

"Can you imagine? We would be in all Linkon's newspapers!" You continued, playfully, while aimlessly tickling his trapped soles, scratching at his heels and then poking at the spots around his toes. "'Off-duty huntress captures wild lemurian!', you'd be even more famous!"

"I-I dohohon't cahAHAHare!" Rafayel laughed, helplessly laying his head back in the sand after quickly running out of options to fight back.

The best he could do was to pull at his feet slightly or try to cover one sole with the other, not doing much but forcing you to change the tickling from one foot to the other. "Is that so? Guess it'll take me some time to convince you, but you're not going anywhere, right? ~"
