Work Text:

Winter greeted Linkon with a gentle white shower. Some landed on the sidewalk, some covered the roof. A few others preferred to sit near the open window, gazing into the comfortable apartment of a couple who had recently proclaimed their love.
“Look, Xavier! It’s snowing!” With great enthusiasm you remarked, bare palm extending out to capture the first snowfall of the season.
“The weather forecast said it would snow today,” his voice echoed from behind. He observed the snow with you for a bit before resting his silvery head on your shoulder and turning to face you. You hastily stretched out to wipe away the snowflakes that had decided to settle on his hair.
Just then, a strong wind swept by, causing you to quiver slightly. “Whoa, it’s so cold!”
Xavier stood up straight and wrapped his arms around you, drawing you into his embrace. “Yet when you left your flat, you forgot to bring any warm clothes.”
Your entire face was pressed against Xavier’s chest, held tightly by him. You justified yourself by saying, “I didn’t go anywhere. Just your place. It's basically just a few steps. There’s no need to wear more clothes anyway…”
As soon as you finished speaking, you sneezed. Xavier instantly closed the window and pulled you onto the sofa with him.
“The change of seasons could cause illness so easily. If you’re not dressed warmly enough to go outside, then stay here.”
Hearing him say that, you pondered if that was an excuse to keep you here longer. Xavier and you had known each other for a while, but dating was a recent tale. You had never stayed at his house so late. But, judging by his pleading gaze, you assumed that stepping outside to welcome the first snow of the season might be postponed.
In other words, Xavier and you decided to stay at his place and play video games. Xavier loaded a fighting game onto the system and handed you a gamepad. Even though he adjusted the room temperature, you still felt chilly. You sat closer to him on the sofa in search of warmth.
Xavier was wearing a rather large hoodie that appeared to be considerably looser than normal. At first, you thought he had bought the wrong size, but with the weather like this, you could see why he did.
“By the way, Xavier. Can you please share some warmth with me?” You said as you tugged on his shirt.
“Shall I get you another hoodie?”
“No. I want this one.” You firmly grasped the hem of his shirt. That was the entire point of having a boyfriend: to whine and make demands while he went out of his way to make you happy.
Xavier chuckled. “Okay. But I won’t take this off. If you want it, you’ll have to find another way.”
“Huh?”
At your surprised expression, Xavier calmly explained, “The shopkeeper told me this hoodie is made of stretchy material. Two people can fit in.”
You glanced at him with wide eyes. He was undoubtedly scheming something, but you could not prove it as long as he maintained such a naïve facade.
"You're saying…we could try wearing one hoodie?" You asked again.
Xavier's lips curved up slightly. "That is what you suggested. I simply wanted to evaluate if the hoodie's elasticity was as advertised."
Before you could respond, Xavier pulled up his hoodie. He donned an additional layer of warm clothes below. Certainly, you would not say no to such an invitation, though. You slipped onto Xavier's lap with a peculiar sense of having fallen into a trap, despite the fact that you had planned to tease him from the start.
You awkwardly crawled into Xavier’s hoodie, accidently bumping your head on his chin. Xavier merely chuckled and softly rubbed the top of your head. He helped you settle into his lap, with your face poking out from the collar.
“Do we look like one of those kangaroos at the zoo?” You could not help laughing. The hoodie was roomy enough for both of you and incredibly warm. All of Xavier's warmth surrounded you. Even his scent lingered, as if you were drowning in his arms.
“Here is your gamepad.” Xavier slid your purple controller into the hoodie. His was yellow. They were a pair with moon and star designs and cute white bunny buttons.
However, it was difficult for you to focus on the game from this posture. Xavier saw your squirming and asked:
“You can’t see the controls if you sit like this, can you?”
You had grown accustomed to this controller after spending so much time playing video games with Xavier. Hence you said, “Actually, I don’t need to look at the buttons anymore. I’m just adjusting my position to be most comfortable.”
Xavier complied with your wishes. He wrapped both arms around you with the yellow gamepad in front of your abdomen. “I’ve memorized all the buttons too,” he whispered. His chin rested lightly on top of your hair again. “Is this position good?”
"Perfect." You grinned joyfully and leaned against him as if he were an exquisite pillow. "I think we can play a few more rounds now."
"Then you'll have to stay here a little longer."
It was getting late. Snow was falling faster and harder outside. The game on the large screen had long since concluded, but it had not been turned off. On the sofa, you fell asleep, wrapped in Xavier’s hoodie and his gentle embrace.
