Summary
Johnny’s gaze was fixed with fascination as the muscles beneath the leathery skin began to twitch, then spasm. He took a step forward in anticipation, then a few more until he stood directly beside the table and the creation’s thick and quivering thigh was within arm’s reach. That flesh had been so still, so cold when he had supplied it. A strange compulsion struck him to reach out and caress it now, to see if he could feel the life as it flowed back into that limb.
