“I want you.” Yukiko states like a command.
“If you ever get with any other man, I’ll kill myself” Yukiko bluntly continues, not stuttering in the slightest.
“WAIT WHAT?????” Chie stammers out.
Chie was simply put, confused. She was used to Yukiko being weird, laughing at anything amusing and also always being a bit possessive of Chie, especially after rescuing her from the TV world but she didn’t expect Yukiko to straight up say it, after all Yukiko was known to be a tad bit shy with her feelings. Chie really had to think of a response and fast, Yukiko’s stare was killing her. Her brown, almost red eyes stared straight at Chie as Chie’s cogs in her head were turning to give a decent response - she was always more of an actions speaks louder than words sort of person.
“Chie, you’re quiet now.. Are you really thinking about this?” Yukiko asked caringly but with a slight sweetness to it. It made Chie almost melt on the spot, especially with Yukiko subtly rubbing on her biceps, her boobs slightly touching it and Chie really couldn't look away. She liked Yukiko, she really did but she didn’t know how to respond, she liked Yukiko more than anyone else but she still liked everyone else, so why did she feel so different when she was around Yukiko? She was so deep in her mind that she was startled when Yukiko started giggling. Was she just joking about all of this? Should she still give a serious response? Man, this is so stressful, who knew telling a friend you liked them was so hard?
“Chie! Your face! It looks so goofy when it’s all scrunched up like that!” Yukiko gasped out, trying to breathe after laughing so hard which caused Chie’s face to turn as red as those SP replenishing tomatoes Yu always carries around.
“Hey! I’m trying to actually think seriously for once!” Chie rebutted back but with no real bite.
“Well…do you have an answer yet?” Yukiko innocently asked, batting her eyelashes slightly
“Uhm...I’ll get back on that…uhmm…Tomorrow! Yea, tomorrow definitely!” Chie scuttered out with as much confidence as a chihuahua before hurrying off, leaving a bewildered Yukiko behind.
Chie hurried to her room, ignoring her mom calling her for dinner. She had to brainstorm and fast. Should her response be poetic with sophistication and deeper meaning - maybe she could use those poetry books Yu gave her one time. Or should it be more simple and quick, then she could do some sick acrobatics to show her emotions? She was really stuck, nothing in her life could have prepared her for this - not even fighting weird bara shadows. Regardless, she still brainstormed on random notebooks, hoping that Shakespeare himself comes to possess her to write something meaningful. Should she call Yu on how to write a meaningful confession, or Yosuke for moral support - wait…Yosuke would just torment her and use this as blackmail, and Yu would just be…awkward to say the least. But she cracked down, writing anything that came to her mind; she could do this, she can do this, she has to do this!
Somehow, tomorrow came - almost too fast, like some god of creation was mocking her for not being able to form a coherent response. But Chie was ready, her hair looked extra good today, she had her response memorized, she could take on anything that would come her way, even a golden hand! She waited for classes to finish, watching the clock tick slower than ever until the bell of salvation finally rang. She took a bewildered Yukiko’s hand and dashed out of the classroom at lightning speed - she was ready for this!
The two of them reached the Samegawa floodplains, both severely out of breath from giggling (on Yukiko’s behalf) and running at lightning speed.
“So, why did we have to get here so fast?” Yukiko huffs out.
“Well I just wanted to make sure no one else was here before us, privacy Y’know?” Chie replies back. Yukiko simply nods back.
Chie takes a deep breath, hyping herself up in her head “You can do this, you can do this” repeatedly.
“Yukiko, for the longest time I’ve always felt a connection to you unlike any other..” Chie starts, heaving a deep breath before the big reveal.
“YUKIKO AMAGI I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU” Chie screams at the top of her lungs, causing crows to flee. Yukiko just stares at her, eyes glistening as her eyes latch onto the fierce girl in front of her - absolutely mesmerized.
Yukiko suddenly jumps onto Chie, hugging her as tight as possible which giggling uncontrollably which leaves a bewildered but overjoyed Chie as she starts to laugh alongside Yukiko but resulting in both of them falling back onto the green plains.
“Chie…I didn’t think you would take that so seriously…but thank you. Thank you so much Chie and…I love you as well” Yukiko confesses with a light blush appearing on her cheeks causing Chie to blush at the adorable sight and quickly give her a peck on the cheek, resulting in Yukiko turning as red as her cardigan.
“Chie! Warn me next time!” Yukiko scolded in feign aggression
“So…if I ask, would you let me?” Chie smugly asked.
“Of course I would,” Yukiko replied, closing the gap between them with a kiss. Chie responded by deepening the kiss further, causing them to cuddle together as they continued - in their own world, forgetting about everyone else.
