Work Text:
Pike leans against the cave wall, head throbbing, as he watches Spock tear another strap from one of their equipment bags. “You don’t have to do this, Spock. Just let me go.”
“I’m sorry, captain.” Even with Pike’s hands bound behind his back, Spock keeps his phaser trained on him as he works. “But I must.”
“Just let me have my communicator,” Pike reasons. “Let me call Enterprise and they can send help.”
“I cannot allow you to contact anyone else.” Spock stands, keeping his head low to avoid hitting the cave ceiling as he stalks towards the captain. “You would be endangering us both.”
“You don’t have to do this.” Pike winces as Spock roughly grabs his broken ankle, but doesn’t bother to struggle. He’s figured out by now that that would be futile. “Spock, do you hear me? You can untie my hands and we can both get out of here. No one has to get hurt, Spock.”
“I am sorry, captain. But you have been compromised.” He touches Pike’s shoulder. “I cannot allow you to harm yourself or anyone else. When you are yourself again, I hope you will understand.” Then he squeezes, and everything goes dark.
