A mix of emotions were present in the Blue Jays clubhouse on November 2nd, 2025.
“Hey, Max,” Chris said. “Are you… coming back next year?”
“Do you even need to ask?” Max practically growled. “There’s no way that’s my last outing. I came to the Blue Jays to win another World Series. Let’s make it happen.”
Chris smiled. “Yeah, that’s about what I thought. I want another chance with this group as well.”
“It was my damn fault,” Jeff said. “We were two outs away from a win and I fucking blew it. It feels pretty shitty to cost you all World Series rings.”
“Come on man, don’t beat yourself up over it,” Brendon said. “I mean, just look at me. At least you helped us win many times during the season! I didn’t help us win at all! I just fucked everything up!”
“What? No,” Myles shook his head. “You had a great first half of the season.”
Brendon sighed. “Yeah… FIRST HALF…”
IKF was scrolling through the hate messages on his phone. “Really, it’s my fault…”
“Oh, shut up already,” Myles said. “Anyone who sends you hate messages should take a look in the damn mirror.”
“Yeah! Plus, I get hate messages all the time!” Brendon said. “Everyone says to ignore them!”
“Yo, Mason,” Louis said. “Could you pass me my shoes?”
“Yeah, sure,” Mason said.
“Thanks. As I’ve said before, you don’t throw that hard, but it works.”
“Oh, shut up.”
“Hey, does anyone know where Kirky went?” Bo asked. “I thought he might need some consolation after hitting into that game ending double play…”
“Oh, he fine,” Vladdy spoke up. “He went to get soup from his Abuela.”
Bo raised an eyebrow. “Abuela…?”
“Grandma,” Vladdy clarified.
“Ah.”
“Yeah, he with his family now. I’m leaving too, and I got some extra plane tickets to Cancun!” Vladdy smiled. “Anyone want to join?”
George sighed. “Yeah, sure… a vacation sounds nice right about now…”
“You alright, bro?” Daulton asked.
George sighed again. “Yeah, I’m fine… I just wish we could’ve gotten those rings…”
Daulton sighed. “Yeah, I mean… we WERE the better team.”
“Yes, and we can pat ourselves on the back knowing that,” Kevin said. “This year, we became the best team in baseball. We had a better record than the Dodgers in the regular season. In the World Series, we outscored and outplayed them.”
Trey nodded. “We’re blessed to have had such a good run… I never would’ve dreamt of this at the beginning of the year. To get to play at this level, with this wonderful team…”
Ernie sniffed. “Oh, damn it… I thought I was done crying… I love you guys so much…”
“We’ll come back and get it next year,” Nathan said. “I mean, that’s our whole thing, isn’t it?”
Joey nodded. “Never back down, never give up! We’ll finish them off next year!”
“Comeback! Comeback! Comeback!” Addison chanted.
“Yeah, that’s the spirit!” Joey said. “Anyway, Davis, Ernie, you guys wanna go home and sit on the couch under blankets watching horror movies while eating popcorn?”
“Yeah, sure,” Ernie said.
Davis nodded. “Yep, sounds like a plan.”
“Can I come?” Addison asked.
“Sure, but you’re sleeping on the couch,” Davis said.
Addison shrugged. “Fine by me. Last time I did that, I got the first pinch hit grand slam in World Series history.”
“It’s not much of a couch anyway,” Davis said. “More of a pullout…”
“Whatever.”
“Is it okay if I come with you guys?” Nathan asked.
“Yeah, sure, why not,” Ernie said. “It’s a pretty big couch.”
“May I join as well?” Shane asked.
“Huh? Yeah,” Davis said. “I didn’t know you were into horror.”
“Oh, no, I’m not,” Shane shook his head. “I’m more interested in talking with you about moustaches.”
Davis’s eyes lit up. “Oh, yeah! Let’s go!”
“By the way, has anyone seen Gimenez?” Ernie said. “I haven’t seen him since yesterday…”
“Oh, he long gone,” Vladdy said. “He went back to Venezuela for the offseason.”
Ernie nodded. “I see…”
“Wait, I just got a text from him,” Vladdy took his phone out. “It looks like he… overthrew the Maduro regime and brought prosperity back to Venezuela! That’s my boy! Viva Venezuela!”
Ernie’s eyes lit up. “Let’s fucking go!!!!!”
