Work Text:

Stephen held his coat in his hands. He’d retrieved it from where he kept it when he didn’t have it with him. Now he was giving it to Tony.

Tony sat on the bed, love, desire, and hints of uncertainty in his beautiful brown eyes.

“Most people would revel in the opportunity to be given a selkie’s coat,” Stephen pointed out as he joined Tony. “I know you felt it when you first touched mine.”

“It felt… good,” Tony admitted.

Stephen caught Tony’s hand and guided it to his coat. Tony shivered, eyes darkening with desire. Stephen’s own heart raced; Tony’s love and devotion blanketed him as Tony’s soul nestled around him. “It feels good for me, too.” Not everyone would give Stephen this feeling. Just Tony.

If it had felt good the first time—it had been the impetus for Stephen chasing Tony—it only felt better now, because Tony loved him. Tony cherished him, Tony would protect him. The promise resonated in his soul.

He wanted this forever. He kept Tony’s hand pressed against his coat as he reached out with his other hand to pull Tony into a kiss. Tony’s desire rippled through him. Tony groaned; Stephen knew Tony felt something too. “It feels good,” Stephen murmured between kisses. “I know you want it.” Another few kisses. “I want it, too.”

Tony pulled back, Stephen kept Tony’s hand in his, pressed to his coat. It was unfair, probably, ensuring Tony could feel him, feel how good this was. Stephen wasn’t too noble to press his advantage. “Stephen,” Tony said. “It’s so much trust.”

Stephen laughed. “Tony, I found you. I chased you. I married you.”

“People get divorced,” Tony muttered. “You’re giving me power over you.”

True. But Stephen suspected he had his own power over Tony. No. He knew he did. This made them even. “We’ll be forever.” He tugged Tony in for another kiss. “You swore to love and care for me for the rest of our lives. Protect me, too.”

For a while they just kissed, tender. “Yes,” Tony finally said. “Yes. I’ll take your coat. Gonna keep you so safe.”

Exultation spun through him. Stephen pulled back, laying his coat across the blankets. He pushed Tony back onto it. Tony groaned. Stephen laughed as he straddled him. “You thought it felt good before?” Stephen asked. “Just wait.” They had a marriage to consummate.
