Chapter Text
I was wearing a fancy dress and pretty heels. I don't remember where I got either of them. Things kind of blend together after 168 years. You see, I'm a vampire. And I like to collect things. I don't even know if these shows came from the same decade as the dress.
Elena was invited to the Mikaelson ball. And seeing as my brothers forced themselves as her dates, I decided to tag along. Despite not actually getting along with any of Mickelson's.
“You're too much trouble,” someone yelled. That sounded like that hybrid. Someone is about to be in trouble. And being in trouble with Klaus Mikaelson usually ended in somebody dying. I followed the sound of his voice.
I went up the stairs. There was Klaus Mikaelson and what I assumed was his brother. Either Kol or Finn. Those are the only two I haven't met. Klaus had a dagger in his hand. One of the magic daggers that could temporarily kill an original. His brother was backed up against the wall.
I'm about to do something very stupid. Something that could very much end up in my death. Klaus could just rip out my heart. But knowing him, he'd probably bite me and let me slowly die from a werewolf bite.
I used my vampire speed to run over there. I threw Klaus over my shoulder. He landed in the wall across from his brother and I. His hybrid features came out. He looked pissed.
“Niklaus, old Buddy. Let's not get all Violent, alright. He's only been out of that old coffin for like a couple of days,” I laughed. His brother looked at me like I was insane. Which, I probably am. I'm trying to save a stranger, a Mikaelson stranger, from the psycho hybrid.
“Salvatore, what the hell are you doing,” Klaus asked. “Don't dagger him. And if he hurts you or something, kill me. Deal?” I requested. “Fine. But I'm telling you. You'll be dead within the week,” Klaus agreed.
Klaus walked out of the room. Leaving the Mikaelson brother and I in the room alone. He sped over to the abandoned dagger and put it in his pocket. He was rather cute. But not cute enough for what I just did for him
“I'm not going to steal it. I can't use that on you. It would kill me. And I just risked my life for you. Why did I do that,” I sighed. The Mikaelson brother started to laugh.
“What's your name?” The brother wondered. “You go first. I just risked my life so you wouldn't get unconscious for a few decades. I deserve to know your name,” I instructed. “Kol Mikaelson I'm surprised you didn't know,” Mikaelson informed. “I'm Y/N Salvatore. I knew you were either Finn or Kol,” I chuckle.
“Do not dare call me that bore,” Kol frowned. “I was just unsure. It was fifty-fifty,” I chuckle. “Well, now that you know my name, use the correct one,” Kol instructed. “Okay, Finn,” I teased. “You must really have a death wish. You have tested two original vampires in less than ten minutes apart,” kol pointed out. “I should probably leave before I go down and tell Rebekah that I don't like her hair,” I laughed.
“Have a drink with me first. Take it as a thank you,” kol requested. “Depends. Blood or beer. I'm kinda on a diet. I don't drink during parties. I'm a social drinker,” I joked. “We have aged bourbon. It's downstairs,” Koll suggested. “That works for me,” I agreed.
He offered me his arm and I took it. I started walking down the stairs with Kol. My brothers were talking in hushed whispers to Elena when they caught me. Damon looked like he was going to have a stroke. Kol didn't seem bothered by it. Kol and I sat down at the makeshift bar they had. He ordered us both a bourbon.
“So why did Klaus want to dagger you,” I wondered. “Already going for the great emotional trauma I see, Kol chuckled. “I just saved your ass from being daggered. I think I deserve to know why,” I chuckled, “You're friends with Matt,” Kol attempted to remind me. “That's more of a Elena friend but sure. What about it?” I wondered. “I attempted to kill him and then Damon snapped my neck,” Kol recalled.
“Wasn't Matt your sister’s date?” I asked. “Yeah, he was. She wanted me to kill him. But then she changed her mind. it's a long story,” kol confirmed, “Your family is confusing,” I chuckled. “Thank you,” Kol smirked. “That wasn't- Nevermind,” I sighed.
“You're friends with Elena, correct?” Kol asked. He had turned all serious on me. “Yeah. Why,” I wondered. “She's talking to my mother. Do you know why?” Kol questioned. “No. All I do know is that she's planning to lie to Elijah about it. I just wouldn't drink that champagne if I was you,” I confirmed.”I already did,” Kol frowned. He shook his head to hide his worry. But I had already seen it
“Thank you, little Salvatore. Let me walk you out,” Kol smirked. “Such a gentleman,” I joked. Kol hooked his arm with mine and I let him. I could feel my brother planning his murder. We walked away from the bar before even getting our drinks. Probably because of the champagne talk.
“Do you mind walking me home?” I requested. “Didn't you drive here?” Kol remembered. “I rode with my brother, Damon. And seeing as he snapped your neck, they'll be a lecture. And I'd rather wait until the morning for a pointless lecture,” I explained. “Well, in this case. I'll walk you home,” Kol agreed.
