Everyone and their intuition

Summary:

Everyone sort of knew they were together, but they weren’t officially together, were they?

That’s what Blondie was trying to figure out anyway

Work Text:

After the dragon games, all anyone wanted to do was relax. So, briar threw a party, which may not have been the best idea seeing as most were still recovering. But no one really cared to bring that up.

Especially Blondie who was filming videos for her her story on hexagram. Scanning through the crowd for some interesting footage, she stops on darling and apple. Which was fair, Darling was her true loves kiss, it was fair to assume they were together now. Or had been for awhile seeing as Darling kissed her in the first place.

Blondie probably should’ve looked more into those glances they made all through the games. But maybe it was nothing, plus, Sparrow was trying to start a fight with Ramona and she could not miss that.

And she didn’t, Sparrow almost hitting her as he goes to swing at Ramona, who gets stopped last moment by Justine. They’d really become good friends since dorming together. After that, Cupid had to drag her back to the dorm so she wouldn’t get hurt. Which Blondie happily obliged, especially seeing as Cupid was her best friend.

“Do you know if Darling and Apple are together?” Laying beside Cupid on her bed, staring up at her.

“I don’t know, probably.” Cupid answers without much thought behind it as she goes back to scrolling. “Look.” Flipping her mirrorphone around to show a video of Daring doing a backflip into the enchanted lake, singing some Taylor Quick song.

“Wow, I missed that. Something about that doesn’t sit right with me.” More of a grumble, annoyed as she stared at the video. Cupid nodding in agreement, turning off the light and moving to bury her head into the crook of Blondie’s neck as Blondie continues to scroll. “Maybe I’ll interview Raven about it tomorrow.” The only response they got was the soft breaths against their neck showing that Cupid was already asleep. Moving to go to sleep herself, thinking about how she’d get to the bottom of it.

They had the next 2 days off as the teachers and everyone started to feel better after the affects of the Evil Queen’s magic finally started to completely wear off. So, Blondie took the opportunity while she had it and got ready bright and early, waking up Cupid in the process.

“This is so hexciting.” Blondie halfway through throwing on her shoe as she grabbed her iPad. Cupid only frowning as she watched the scene in front of her, closing her eyes to go back to sleep. Tying her shoes as she walked out the door and fixed the strap of her messenger bag.

After a while of walking around with no idea of where Raven was, even after asking Maddie, she gave up. Hoping to find something new to add to her blog as it was rather quiet at the current time.

Which was rather sad, until she found Dexter, of course he’d know where Raven was. Excitedly asking him where she was.

“She’s with Cerise, I don’t know where.” He answered, looking everywhere but her and as she inspected him, she really never understood how Cupid could like him. He was just not right for her. Which is probably why he’s with Raven currently and thankfully not her roommate.

Although, basically all of the guys at Ever after weren’t very good options. Daring? Too arrogant. Sparrow? Too loud. Hunter? In a relationship. Alistair? Well, either way none of them deserved her best friend.

So she trudges back to the dorms, slipping her bag off at the door and falling back into her chair.

“Was it not just right?” Cupid asks, sitting up from her bed. Blondie just shakes her head as Cupid goes to stand up “would lunch cheer you up? Maybe we could stop at the glass slipper or something?” shopping and lunch did sound rather right at a time like this. So, with that, Cupid starts to get ready as Blondie scrolls on her phone, watching everyone’s story intensely for some hint of anything.

“I’m ready.” Blondie having to stop herself from staring as she stands up, darting to the door to hold it open. Following Cupid as they start the short walk into town hand in hand. Stopping at their regular lunch place first, walking all day has taken quite a lot out of Blondie. Ordering their regulars, they go to sit by the window as Cupid asks about the interviews, which Blondie recites all of what had happened prior.

She only stopped when she noticed familiar shapes a few feet away. Her hand moving from Cupid’s to her bag before stopping as they walk up first. That wasn’t a normal response from people who were supposed to be hiding something, but it was Apple.

“Earth to Blondie, really fitting the stereotypes.” Cupid says as Blondie nods in the direction that they were staring. “Oh, wow.” As Blondie rushes to finish her meal in hopes she could catch them before they walk out but it fails anyway.

“I need the scoop. It’s not like I’ll out them if they don’t want me to, that’s just so not right on every level.” Cupid nods at that as Blondie starts to wonder why they’d hide their relationship in the first place. They were probably together since the whole wonderland incident, they’d become close since then now that Blondie was putting all the pieces together.

Darling had switched to knight courses as of recently, so she didn’t care enough to hide that, as well as everyone being accepting of queer people at school. Especially Daring and Dexter who were their brothers. But it truly was anyone’s guess.

Blondie would learn after she got down to it. So day after day, her and Cupid go there daily, expecting more of them but Blondie eventually loses the plot of that and starts talking to Cupid and shopping afterwards. A very rewarding week in her opinion. She could think of anything better than spending her happily ever after with Cupid.

After one of these dates, she sees Briar sent a Dm about a party for Hopper’s birthday. Immediately liking the message and showing it to Cupid who nods.

“Thank grimm that we don’t have to help. It’s going to be a smaller party for once.” Cupid sighed, hoping that after this it would be the end of dealing with the dappling situation as Blondie called it. Not that she disliked the daily dates and days out into town, but it was rather dramatic of Blondie to put all this effort into it.

It was rather late into the afternoon as they finally got back to school, stopping at a few shops on the way back and getting lost.

So, all they did when they got back was take a nap, or that was Cupid’s plan. Blondie was planning on staying up but ended up falling asleep beside Cupid on her bed. She really should be more used to the touch seeing as Blondie always thought that Cupid’s bed was “just right” and they sat beside each other in most of their classes.

They even started getting ready for the party together. Blondie finishing her makeup early and going over to help Cupid. Blondie looked at her for only a moment before pulling her closer, just close enough that she could feel Cupid’s breath on her as she looked at the lipstick in her hand and then to Cupid to ask if it was okay.

Cupid nodded quickly, accepting the offer quicker than Blondie expected her to. Wiping off the excess with her finger so it looked right.

“Do you want me to help with your eyeshadow. I don’t know why it takes you so long to put it on.”

“Yeah me either, guess I just get distracted is all.” Blondie only shaking her head to switch out the lipstick for the palette and pointing towards the bed for Cupid to sit down on. Coming back a few moments later with the palette and moving to essentially straddle Cupid, not really noticing it at all. It was moments like these where Cupid swore that she was doing it on purpose and that they really were more than best friends forever after.

“What’s got you distracted now?” Blondie asks as she finished helping Cupid, staying there for a few extra moments. Cupid just blinking up at her “You’re really pretty.” which she thought was only what she was thinking until Blondie smiled at her and she realized she said it out loud.

“We should get to the party.” Cupid moving to sit up, Blondie jumping up as if finally remembering what they were getting ready for. Both of them moving to put on their shoes and grab their mirrorphones. Walking the familiar path to the boy’s dorms. Both of them hoping Daring or Sparrow didn’t get drunk enough to try and prank Faybelle or one of their other teammates.

And surprisingly, it was still in the early stages, Hopper’s cake only having a slice taken out and everyone just talking like normal.

It only really started to get interesting when Hopper feels confident enough to try and ask Briar to a dance. This led to Faybelle almost cursing him due to that. They really were good friends even with their destiny.

Even if Briar pulled her to the side and they seemed to disappear for the rest of the night. All of this reminded Blondie that she was looking into Dappling.

They were invited to every party after all, a glance down the hallway saw the slightest glimpse of Darling getting dragged down into an empty room. This led to Blondie completely ditching Cupid, leaving her only with a kiss on the cheek that left her in confusion.

She chose to look into it, finding them in a room with the door over halfway open. Now, what was going on was Apple had gotten tired of waiting for Darling to ask them out. Apple knew she didn’t have to go out with her destined prince or princess, but something drew them to Darling. Hanging out with them constantly as of recent really showed that to them.

They learned what happened from Raven the next day and was hoping Darling would bring it up first. Apple was hoping that Darling liked her to begin with, and this party was the end of their rope.

She finally kissed Darling, hoping she’d reciprocate, which she did, getting pushed onto the bed in the process.

Although it was quickly broken up by the sight of Blondie who had her both agape.

“Blondie!” Apple yelps, Darling’s hand still positioned on her back which stopped her from leaving and fighting her friend for ruining the moment with Darling. Darling who somehow looked more charming than they normally did, smiling up at Apple. “Why can’t you just bother your girlfriend?” Apple dropping her head onto Darling’s chest as Blondie looks utterly confused.

“She means Cupid, who’s been in love with you for months?” Everything clicking sort of, Blondie hadn’t really put together the fact she’s been in love with her best friend. It was always scoop after scoop, but now that she thought about it, she’s been into her best friend forever after for almost a whole year.

“So you guys do like each other right?”

“I hope so?” Darling says as Apple grumbles something before pulling her into a kiss as Blondie runs out, looking for her best friend.

Before, however, she could ask her friend out, Cupid walks up to her and leads them to a window. Looking out at the moon and the speckled stars that were probably a constellation that Blondie didn’t know of.

“So, I like you.” Blondie relaxed as she got what she was hoping, not really wanting to spew out a lot of words that would probably make them seem like an ass instead of an actual confession “are you okay?”

“So, I was actually just about to ask you. So, basically, they only now got together. Anyway, I only now realized that I like you and I’m so glad that you asked me out or I think I would’ve sounded like a game of madlibs like, right now.” Getting pulled into a kiss by Cupid, smearing the lipstick Blondie spent so much time admiring.

“Finally.” Cupid moving to pepper kisses across their face as Blondie smiled, putting all of the pieces together, and wow, was she oblivious. It was actually painful at that point.
“Please tell me I’m not going to be all over your blog like one of those weird couples.”

“Now that I have the idea-“ getting stopped with a kiss that made her hope that this was her destiny. Not like she had some kiss to prove anything, but either way she wanted to be with Cupid for what felt like ever. Now she sounded like those cringe couples she’d always bully. Wow.
