He hoped she knew the difference as the silence wore on.
“Call it even?” Lois asked with a small smile playing on the corner of her mouth as she bit her bottom lip. Clark wanted nothing more than to free it from her teeth with his own lips.
“Yeah, Lo,” Clark whispered, smiling softly, leaning towards her unconsciously, desperate to be closer to her even if only a few inches. Her smile widened, blinding him with the brightness of a thousand Christmas trees wrapped in string lights. “We can call it even.”
