Chapter Text

An abnormally. A walking paradox. Martyn should be floating in the void of time yet is here, Becoming fractured but yet, whole, wandering the bustling city of New York. Not that he knows what that is. At the very least, he doesn’t have to kill his friends. At least, he doesn’t think he does. The clock is always ticking though and he is afraid it will stop.

Always ticking, always wasting time. He needs to get things done. However, he does not know how to get around in this world. There are these huge moving metal things that go faster then horses. But he thinks if he jumps in front of them he will die and his time would go down. He is already low on time. It isn’t worth the risk.

Low on time? He isn’t in that event anymore? But neither is he bound to another person, or in another world where the terrain changes. Maybe something will happen if he crouches?

Martyn crouches down to see if anything happens.

Odd, he is still the same height. He frantically looks around. There doesn’t seem to be a snail around. He frantically checks his pockets to see if there might be a task. Odd there is none. “Thud-Thud-Thud you’re wasting time.” His old commentary plays through his head and he takes off down the sidewalk not sure where he is going as he bumps into a familiar face.

“Sc- Scott! You’re here! You didn’t leave me!” Martyn quickly hugs the person in front of him not recognizing that this Scott looks different then the other Scott that he happens to know.

Scott standing still as he is being attacked by Martyn is confused. Martyn has been dead for over two-hundred years now and the last he checked, Martyn didn’t happen to even like him. This Martyn happens to be immortal in some form but also something else entirely. Scott stays quiet unsure how to react. Old him might have pushed him off and belittled the small man in front of him. But right now, he couldn’t bring himself to do that. Unless it was Sausage, but that is not the point.

Martyn looks up to Scott and reaches for his face. “You, you are already on your red life. No, that can’t be good. I’ll protect you don’t worry. I won’t betray you this time. I even had a fair fight with you last time, remember.” He looks around quickly. “Odd, are you going solo this round? You never strike me as someone that would do that. You always work best when you have allies. That must be why you are so low on lives. I am so sorry I didn’t get here sooner.”

“Martyn Woodhurst, what are you talking about?” Scott tilts his head. It isn’t that he doesn’t mind the affection, but seeing him act this way confuses him. He will never say no to a man willing to give him adoration.

“Woodhurst? That isn’t my last name. You know that Scott.” Martyn wraps his arms around the vampire not wanting to let go as if he leaves Scott will slip through the cracks again.

“Riiight.” The vampire doesn’t know how to respond. Why would he be there if this isn’t Woodhurst? What is this supernatural feel from him?

“My love, sing me one of our songs again.~” Martyn snuggles close to Scott.

“I am not a bard. If you want someone to sing, ask Ren.”

Martyn’s eyes light up. “Ren is in this game too? Maybe I can have both my husbands allied with me this time!”

Scott becoming increasingly more confused looks into Martyn’s eyes and some words stumbled out of them “A Serein Time God where death follows... Could be a time god or a death god.”

Martyn keeps himself close to Scott as he is just happy to be with him.

Scott wraps his arm around Martyn as he takes a picture and sends it into his group chat titled “the coven”

Coven “Leader” (Scott): ~Attached image

Coven “Leader”: Guys, what do I do? I got a time god attached to me!

Mother Of The Children (Cleo): My God

Mother Of The Children: How is he alive?

Mother Of The Children: And what do you mean time god?

Curer of Ren’s Tongue (Sausage):...

Curer of Ren’s Tongue: This is a really cruel prank Scott

Coven “Leader”: If I was trying to get under your skin Sausage I would have sent it to you directly. Not where everyone can see.

Master Detective (Drift): I’ll call Shelby and tell her you are bring someone home and not to panic.

AO3 Creator (Shelby): Martyn????

AO3 Creator: How can I work now????

AO3 Creator: Come home with the milk then!

Mother Of The Children: Aw,

Mother Of The Children: Is dad finally coming home with the milk?

Mother Of The Children: Tell him mom has moved on.

Scott rolls his eyes at Cleo fully aware that they can’t see his annoyance. He can’t even send his agitation down his fledgling bound as she doesn’t have one with him.

“Hey, I am going to bring you to my place. Okay Martyn?” Scott pats his head trying to appease him. If he really is a god then Scott should give him what he wants for now until he calms down and can be more rationally reasoned with.

“Okay~” Martyn swings his voice as he takes the vampire’s hand and follows his lead.

“What is your last name then if it isn’t Woodhurst?” Scott asks as he strolls down the street heading to the penthouse.

“You don’t know? But we’ve been together and friends for so long!”

“Sorry, it has been a while since I’ve seen you. It has been over two hundred years so maybe it slipped my mind.”

Martyn pouts. “Littlewood. You made fun of me for the name when you learned about it and said it was unforgettable.” He was quiet briefly. “This game has been going on for over two-hundred years?! No wonder you are on your red life!” Martyn runs in front of Scott and puts himself in a ready stance as if he was getting ready to fight. “I’ll make sure we make it to the end like you always do, don’t worry Scott!”

Scott quietly looks at the little fish god punching the air as he sighs. “Martyn, I have no idea what you are talking about. We are in New York. I’m going to take you to Drift and Shelby. Maybe they can help me with...” Scott looks Martyn up and down as he tries to determine his next words but chooses to use his original one anyways. “...this.”

“This” is not something that Martyn was expecting to be called but here he was anyways. He wonders who these two people are that Scott talks about but if they are his allies then that would help him out a lot. Although, normally small groups are typically better for these kind of games until the end.

The air in the penthouse is tense as the two of them wait for Shelby to get down from her office. Does Scott have allies if they are not around at base? Is a question Martyn asks himself looking around also thinking that the place looks rather nice for games that have a high chance of arson.

“You’re base looks nice. You must have been the one to build it yourself as you always want your places to look nice despite how Scar is arson prone.”

Scott tilts his head. “Who is Scar? Is that another one of your friends in your world?”

Martyn opens his mouth to speak but no sound comes out. This isn‘t a death game? Then this Scott’s eyes are just red and he isn’t going to just die? In disbelief he wraps his arms around the vampire clinging on hope that Scott just has amnesia and the forgetting his last name was just some sick joke that he is playing. He was with Scar, bDoubs and Etho last game. He should know who Scar is.

He hears foot steps heading down from the floor above and they seem to stop in front of the two of them. “Scott what is going on?” Shelby’s voice is quiet as they see a Martyn clinging onto Scott as if his life depends on it. Surprisingly Scott isn’t pushing him off.

“We got a little time god that seems to have broken containment.” Scott pats Martyn’s head as he seems to be shaking.

He is scared about what is going to happen and what Scott will do. He doesn’t know the machinic of this game yet. It is entirely possibly that there is no machinic. Why does Scott keep calling him a time god? Martyn looks up and sees someone also with red eyes looking at him. Are all of Scott’s allies on red? Did he lure him in to a trap? No Scott... Scott wouldn’t do that to him, right? Does he have no allies this game then? Is he going to have to be alone?

“Scott, he is clearly scared, do you know what about?” Shelby questions as they reach for Martyn until he flinches.

Scott trying to sooth the person next to him thinks on how to respond. “Hey, little God, I know that where ever you came from might not be the safest place, but you aren’t there right now. You are safe.”

“Safe?” Martyn echoes Scott’s last word. “Do I have your word that I am? You’re loyal in every game. I know that if you promise me something it has to be true. You might be known to gaslight people but you normally don’t to your allies. We are allies this... time right?”

Martyn looks as if he is about to break down into tears. “You are safe now Martyn. I don’t know where you are from, but whatever happened, you don’t have to go through that again.”

If this was a little more then two-hundred years prior then maybe this Martyn would have to fear Scott. But it isn’t and Scott realizes that even if he doesn’t understand this situation. He has to deal with what is going on with Martyn carefully.

Martyn gets on top of Scott’s lap and straddles him with his legs looking into the vampires crimson eyes pushing down on Scott’s shoulder blades. “You promise we aren’t in a death game?”

A death game is something that if he is used to then that would explain his reactions. “I promise that is not what is going on.”

Martyn grabs Scott’s shoulder tightly as he starts shaking. “Do I have your word Major? Tell me that I have your word!”

“If my word means that much to you, then yes, you have my word.” Scott doesn’t understand why he is so adamant about this. Major isn’t even his last name. However, he had been thinking about changing it, so that would be a good one. He would love to separate himself more from the events of Oakhurst as well as his past mistakes and that would work. There is also the fact that Scott had been known to lie through his teeth to get what he wants. Yet this Martyn seems to have the most trust in him.

“Well if you say so. I don’t think I want to fight anyone to begin with. You said that there is a Ren here? Can I see him? Maybe he will... Maybe he is the same person that I knew there.” Martyn thinks back as he realizes that nothing he does will make this Scott the dame Scott that he knows. He wants to beg Scott to fuck him on the spot but yet, this Scott doesn’t know him. He doesn’t want to force himself on him.

“I’ll message Sausage, to see if Ren is available and we can head off to LA. Shouldn’t take long.”

Martyn wraps his arms around Scott in excitement. “Thank you!” The idea of being with one of his partners possibly is exciting.
