Work Text:
Grian has been experimenting with a new craft in his free time.
The avian has taken up crocheting.
He tried to watch some videos on his comn, but ended up asking his sister, Pearl for help.
His fellow avian showed him how to do most of the basics.
With her help, he learned how to crochet.
Grian sat in his base, and found a pattern for a small cat.
The avian smiled, knowing exactly who would be getting the small yarn feline.
So Grian started to work in the small plush, it took him a few hours of trial and error before he could see the small cat’s body take shape.
Grian continued, working on it for a few more hours before it was complete.
It’s not the best (definitely not as good as Pearl would have made), but it’s his best, and he’s still learning.
The small cat is colored to look like Jellie, using green thread to fasten on black button eyes that are a little crooked.
The avian is actually really proud of what he has made and wants to give it to his friend.
Grian flies over to Scar’s base, finding him working on it.
With a huge grin, Grian glides down, shouting, “Scar!”
Scar turns around, smiling wide as his eyes land on Grian, “G!”
The avian slows down, coming to a landing a few feet from Scar, running up to the vex hybrid, “Scar, I made you a gift!” Grian says, smiling.
“You did?” Scar asks, returning his smile, cocking his head to the side in curiosity.
“I did.” Grian says, nodding.
He pulled the gift from his pocket, handing it to Scar with pink cheeks, instantly hyperaware of his craft’s imperfections, a little anxious that Scar will hate it.
“Grian…” Scar says, picking up the cat, looking at it, “I…I love it.”
The vex hybrid pulls his shorter friend into a hug, “thank you so much.”
Grian relaxes into the hug, hugging his friend back, “Your welcome Scar.”
