Ilya's Reaction To Shane Fighting Hunter

Summary:

Shane and Ilya meet up again and talk about Shane's fight with Scott Hunter.

Post 1x03.

Notes:

I'm so glad so many people are watching this show!

Canada represent!

Would have loved to see Ilya's reaction in the show. It would've been amazing lol.

I know this comment is episode 4 related but omg you guys the club scene with t.a.T.u's "All The Things She Said" and then Harrison's cover of "All The Things She said" *chefs kiss*. That was cinema. That was phenomenal. The lighting. The acting. The music. Everything.

I mean the Canadian shit talking comment respectfully guys. I'm Canadian.

Someone in the comments on Tumblr said Scott Hunter was twenty eight in the books, I don't know if they meant that in 2008 or 2014 so I'm generalizing his age.

I own nothing.

Thank you to anyone who kudos or comments.

Do not put my work into anything AI.

Work Text:

Shane knocked on Ilya's hotel room door.

He wondered if Ilya had seen the fight - the one he'd had with Scott Hunter - on TV when it happened.

Shane inwardly groaned, knowing Ilya had.

A lot of people had.

It wasn't his finest moment. He'd called Scott Hunter forty five, when he was in his late twenties or early thirties or something. Shane thought he had heard he was twenty eight, but that might have been a few years ago. Shane hadn't gotten a text message from Ilya after it happened, which was weird. He probably just wanted to confront Shane about it in person.

The door opened to reveal Ilya standing there, smirking at Shane.

Shane rushed inside, turning around as Ilya closed the door and did the same, turning around to face Shane.

He was still smirking at him.

"I did not know you knew how to... What is saying. Talk shit?" Ilya said.

Shane blinked. "I can... Shit talk."

Ilya raised an eyebrow. "I saw fight on tv with Scott Hunter. Your - " He lifts his hands to do the air quotes "- shit talk. Was not shit talk."

"I said some stuff... I called Scott old. Well, not old. Forty five. Which isn't old. And he isn't forty five. He's like, in his late twenties or early thirties. Or something. And that can be... Shit talking." Shane defend.

"No." Ilya wrinkled his nose. "That is not shit talk. You are bad at shit talking."

"It's the Canadian version of shit talking?" Shane tried.

Ilya gave him a look - a slight head tilt - that said he didn't believe him.

"I heard announcer question if you had ever been in fight before. Was accurate." Ilya said. "I do not think you have."

"Yeah, it was... My first fight." Shane said, his eyes briefly downcast before looking back up at Ilya. A few seconds of silence stretched on between them. "You didn't text after it happened..."

"Would have been specific. Did not want to..." Ilya trailed off, trying to find the right English word.

"I get it. That's... Understandable." Shane said.

"Wanted to ask you in real life. No text." Ilya said.

And then the question came.

"What was fight about?" Ilya asked.

Silence stretched on between them for a few seconds before Shane spoke again.

"Scott said - " He paused. "I said I hope the next time he plays he shows up. He didn't give his full attention to playing that game. And he said I - " He paused again. "That I - That I sounded like you. And... I don't know, I just..." Shane trailed off, looking at the floor.

Ilya laughed.

Shane looked back up at him.

Ilya stopped laughing. "You get in fight and talk shit over me?" He said, smirking with a proud look on his face.

Shane shifted where he stood, briefly glancing around. "Yeah..."

Ilya went and wrapped his arms around Shane, like he was proud of him.

Shane wrapped his arms around Ilya as well.

After a few seconds Ilya and Shane both stepped back.

Ilya smirked at Shane like he was proud that he'd had his first fight/shit talk and that it had been him who had more or less initiated it without even being there.

"Wish I had been there." Ilya said, still smirking proudly.

"Fuck off." Shane said, smiling a little too.

"I am so proud." Ilya told Shane. "Very proud."

"Shut up." Shane said, briefly looking away and smiling again before looking back at Ilya.

Then, Ilya leaned in. Pressing his lips to Shane's, and kissed him.

Shane kissed him back.
