    Realises actually first heist in a long time without Lounge directly by her side- logically, knows still connected through comms with team, and not entire heist just the phase of robbing, and will meet up before the night is over... But still.
    Then realises what else it is- haven't actually been apart for more than a few hours since came back from prison.
    And Lou will go on a travelling tour while Deb while stay behind to sort out her - and their heißt related - affairs right after they finish this...

    But she will have time to think about that later. For now, it's game time.

    Applying her eyeliner in the public bathroom of a library closest to the Gala, Deb gives her little speech to the others.
    It's kitchen, and perhaps not all that logical- barely any of them actually dreamt of becoming what they are now when they were kids, and she doubts many girls now would dream this dream either.
    But it's about power, and motivation, and belonging together in what feels like an all-female team of superheroes.
    And it works. Oh, of course it works.

    fic idea - sequel/AU of the AU

    It's set a bit earlier, Jaskier has just come to Oxenfurt, the wraith ballad is one of his first proper songs

    Jaskier and Geralt have a fling in the dreams but Jaskier is too young for Geralt to really take seriously as a potential relationship.
    When Geralt comes back to Oxenfurt some years later and Jaskier is near the end of his degree and more experienced and, to Geralt's surprise and delight, still/again utterly gone on him, they rekindle their relationship, and once Geralt goes back on the Path Jaskier asks him to check in through the dreams at least from time to time so he knows he's okay (can't do it every night bc Geralt can only access a specific person's dream through meditation, not sleep, and while Witchers need less sleep they don't need /none/)

    Or!
    They don't get together or have sex in the dreams at all - Jaskier just flirts, but he's really too young for Geralt then, and Geralt does kill the wraith in front of him like in Octoberling's fic - but Jaskier still asks him to stay in touch through the dreams, and Geralt is honestly charmed that someone cares what happens to him and agrees to check in from time to time

    Either way!
    At some point Geralt disappears from Jaskier's dreams for weeks or months and Jaskier's getting worried af - his friends in turn are also getting worried, and while Jaskier had told them about the Witcher friend/lover before and of course wrote that ballad about the wraith, most of them thought he was taking a lot of artistic licence and hadn't actually met the Witcher (which, in my second idea, he hasn't yet in person), Priscilla has to explain to Jaskier that she doesn't mean to offend or doubt him, she just honestly hadn't realized he was serious!
    Finally, Geralt comes back from some exhausting hunt, maybe he's hurt (oh, we could have Jaskier drag him to some kind of university nurse/healer or something! I kind of want to have a scene where Jaskier sharing a dreamscape with him helps Geralt but leaves Jaskier utterly exhausted so afterwards he goes right back to sleep still in the room where Geralt is healing), maybe he just hadn't found the time to meditate/was too stressed...
    And either they're already a couple, or they just neatly slip into a relationship with barely any need to talk about it (though in that case Jaskier's friends are a bit o.o 'you said /friend/, friends don't sit on each other's lap and snog and make heart eyes at each other' lmao)

    And it's winter in some months and Jaskier's last semester will be over by then, and if he can manage to finish one last big song project (maybe a group project that students tend to fail the first time? Maybe he and his friends talk Geralt into giving some monster info and write a Witcher monster hunting ballad together!) and Jaskier asks Geralt to come back to Oxenfurt on his way to Kaer Morhen and Geralt nods and invites him to come with him over winter if he's finished with his degree by then
    And Priscilla also invites herself along because sure this Witcher seems alright so far but Jaskier doesn't exactly has a good track record she's not gonna let her best friend leave on his own with what to her is basically a stranger (Jaskier's communication skills are. Really not that much better than Geralt's. And he really told his friends fuckall useful information about his love), and she's also finishing at university and has no plans for the winter - she doesn't want to travel over summer like Jaskier does, she wants to go back to the cities then, but over winter she'd love to tag along.

    Then (apart from some more details and ideas for smut I won't put here bc bookmark wordcount limit but if sb wants it lmk) I just have an idea for one more scene and it's Lambert coming into a small town on the way to Kaer Morhen and a woman greeting him with a smile and going 'your brother his at the inn already! With his lover and friend!' and Lambert is like. Wut. 'i know I missed out on the winter at Kaer Morhen last year but how am I This much out of the loop' xD

    To seal the new treaty between Redania and the Warlord, Lady Milena de Roggeven, third daughter of the Duke of Roggeven, has been sent to marry whichever of the Warlord’s men he chooses.

    Milena is starkly terrified of everything about her new husband; every rumor she has ever heard about the barbarians of the north seems worse than the last, and Lambert clearly despises the very thought of marriage.

    Lambert of the Wolves is still grieving his lost lover, dead more than three years now. The last thing he wants is to be married off to a terrified stranger, and he can’t imagine why Geralt and Eskel think he of all people is suited to a diplomatic marriage.

    And neither of them suspects the treachery that lies behind the treaty which binds them together.

    Milena fic ideas

    (these are ideas that I came up with in chat with toboldlynerd, literally just copies of what we wrote in chat)

    i know obvs Lambert and Milena are very sweet and already halfway to falling in love in chapter 8 but this got me thinking
    and goddamn i don't want to have more AU of AU of AU ideas that are actually writeable when I don't have the damn time or energy for that
    but
    what if sb got treaty-married to sb and it Didn't work out, and they fell in love with someone else?
    now, in a 'normal' court that would be Too Bad, maybe get a mistress lmao type situation
    but the witchers wouldn't go for that
    so
    I'm kinda imagining a funny heist type story
    of trying to fake a paper trail of the marriage being to a different witcher than it actually was
    so the happy couple can be together for real xD
    ohhhh what if Milena got married off to Eskel but falls in love with Lambert and is worried she's disappointing her husband or whatever, meanwhile Eskel married her bc he thought he'd never have ther person/people he loves anyway bc Geralt and Jaskier are happy together......

    ...I might have interrupted my reading to daydream an AU of the AU of the AU in combination with my Yennefer bodyswap multiverse madness where AWAU!ot3 goes to the wolfblood 'verse and Jaskier is like. 'y'all's missing sb :( don't make my AU-me go without you:( tho @ Geralt and Eskel seeee apparently you would have figured out your shit without me eventually:))'
    now that I have the daydream imaginings of them eventually getting their Jaskier version I can once again enjoy the fic xD

    or Ciri! Canon-verse or AWAU-verse Ciri ending up (temporarily, Yen or whoever will fish her out) isekaid into wolfblood!verse!

    I also have one specific scene in my head of Ciri and Yen practicing portals and bc Ciri's so strong with them she regularly ends up somewhere unexpected and they've now gotten used to traveling to different worlds but she still Really needs to learn portal control
    and this time they end up in the forest near the keep in wolfblood 'verse and Yen has Ciri check where they are (they know what World they're in by magic stuff, they can find their way home, they just don't know physically Where they are in this world or maybe just not what this world looks like, is it similar enough to have Witchers despite having weird magic? so, Ciri portals up into the air above the trees to get a better look and then portals back down before she can crash down, and manages it almost perfectly (she lands on her face, Yen laughs at her but not entirely unkindly)
    And the poor Wolfbloods nearby are like wtf WTFwtfwtf xD

    or Ciri does some magic practice and accidentally catches Geralt in it instead of whatever the experiment was supposed to be on, and it ends up with AWAU!Geralt and Wolfblood!Geralt body swapping, and AWAU Geralt is freaked out that not only can he not smell Jaskier anywhere Eskel doesn't even know who that is???
    meanwhile in AWAU, while they notice pretty much immediately what's going on, it takes a while for Ciri and Yen to track down the correct world to get the two Geralts switched back

    also I want AWAU ppl to be So Sad for the wolfblood ppl for their inability to play Aard The Cat xD

    Inspo idea:

    James doesn't get his memory back but he's still a changed man from 2 years ago, he still loves Q even though he no longer knows why, and he makes Q understand that he wants to be with him truly no matter what, and Q learns to accept that even though James has lost his memory he's still his/ James more than not, the James from two years ago certainly didn't get over his gay revelation so quickly, but then two years ago all they had was a physical attraction, now James can't deny that he loves Q.

    They go out to dinner on their anniversary, James coaxes Q into letting his minions worry about work for him for the night, after all they would have surely done something for their anniversary anyway. James calls him his sweet heart and Q has a panic attack at the restaurant not because the nickname is the wrong one but because it's exactly the right one, exactly like James always said it, but he still doesn't remember -

    They and their story of memory loss and still chosen love end up an internet meme, through someone recording them at the restaurant, and Q is so very sorry that James' cover will be broken until it can be properly wiped from the net, but James honestly doesn't mind as much as he thought he would, and he realizes this also must have changed in the time he can't remember - he isn't so keen on going into the field anymore, isn't so keen on dying/ in the field anymore.
    Actually, he kind of had that realization before, but at the time brushed it away among the jumble of to him new feelings and habits after his memory loss: on one of his first missions back in the field, he had found himself wanting it to be over, and not in the way of wanting his life/ to be over, but rather he had wanted to come home and live/.

    James hands in his resignation to M personally, even as no-one thinks he'll go through with it, or that he'll be back once he regains his memories. As he stands there in M's office, he suddenly remembers something - not an actual memory, but a thought, a fantasy: he had imagined this very moment in the past, had thought about retiring because he finally had something to live for, and he didn't want to ever come home to Q in a body bag.

    Q is surprised and elated that James went through with it. James tells him M said he has to stay on at least as a consultant or trainer of sorts if he wants to keep the kind of clearance that lets him bother Q in his office at odd hours.

    James is happy with his new life. He does get a bit restless after a while, and struggles to explain it to Q, but tries: it's not the action and the danger he misses, but London and the drab, unchanging weather is just getting to him a bit, you know? Q asks him whether he knows he can just go on vacation without being on mission, and laughs when James honestly hadn't considered that.
    James asks whether Q won't mind him leaving without him, Q says he'll miss him but won't mind as long as James comes back to him. James says there's no doubt about that, and the way he says it - well, Q really believes that James means it. He is still a bit surprised about that, a part of him always having expected James to leave him for someone better suited to him some day. (James thinks his past self is a dick for making Q so self conscious. Q explains that James' first gay awakening was a lot more complicated than the only one he remembers, and it's Q's own fault for getting involved with someone not out even to himself, but that James was and still is worth it)
    The next time they talk about James' still missing memories, Q tentatively says two years won't matter so much in a few years or so... and James nods, never even considering that their relationship could change.
    They talk about marriage, and decide to elope (though it's still a plan for the future, they don't do it right away) on their anniversary, which conveniently they got back together on the same day as their two year anniversary, so Q won't have to worry about the anniversary not meaning anything to James, and James is happy that it will still mean something if his memories ever do get back (which he's not hoping for quite as much anymore. He really does think his past self must not have treated Q right, not like Q deserves.)

    And they lived happily ever after <3

    In my imagination, they grew up together in a village near the forest and were close as boys, Steve always sickly and Bucky looking after him, they fell in love, Bucky went away to find work to better support them but got bitten by a werewolf, Steve go approached by magicians looking for a human labrat to test their newest spell or potion on and he got turned into a magical version of a supersoldier and later studied magic as well, and he hopes that with his new powers plus Bucky hopefully remembering him enough to stall him long enough to work the magic, he'll be able to break the curse...
