Summary
General D3rlord3, on orders of his king, enter an unusual mineshaft that has appeared in the outskirts of the capital. His goal? Scout ahead and handle any dangerous monsters that could harm any miners that the king planned to send after ensuring their safety. This, right after a grand ceremony where D3rlord3 was actually given his promotion and name, felt odd. However, orders were orders.
Oh, how he wished he had ignored them at that time. Title be damned, a name be damned, what he got in return for his efforts was a fate worse than death. A being beyond explanation, knowledge that threatened to tear his mind to shreds, and a drive to ensure no one else fell into the clutches of that... that thing. That godforsaken creature hidden in the dark.
And he knew the next target too. The one who was supposed to be next. Avery. And D3rlord3 would do anything he possibly could to avoid the inevitable fate he denied with all of his heart and soul. He couldn't let it come to pass. He just couldn't.
