Summary
In a candlelit study protected by failing wards, monster slayer and historian Damien Haas confronts Angela Giarratana, a vampire who enters not by force but by invitation. What begins as a standoff dissolves into psychological control as Angela hypnotizes Damien, stripping him of his weapon, his resistance, and finally his will. Drawn into surrender, Damien kneels and submits as Angela feeds from him, the pain of the bite dissolving into dangerous pleasure. When she vanishes, Damien is left kneeling in the aftermath, marked, shaken, and irrevocably obsessed by the encounter and the hunger she awakened in him.
