This entire fic is seeded with bits of my existing fics and my WIPS as well. The Master and Commander quote was also in New Old Friend, as is the Princess Bride quote and scene, the lighthouses were in Love in the Time of Payphones, "Inside Joke" was the name of the book Ed wrote in Those Darlins, etc. Obviously there are a million references to the show itself, some in reverse, some out of context.
