Chapter Text
I sat up in bed equal parts groggy from sleep and the fact that half on the night i didn't sleep. My blonde clump of bedhead haiir fell in front of my eyes. I tied it back thanking the person who invented hair ties. I wonder who it was? and how they came up with the idea?
My mom kicked the ddoor open. Glared at me though her bloodshot orbs. "ADELYN!!!" she screamed. She must have been drinking last night. "GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!!!" I cringed away. She charged at me. Her fingers latched around my arm fake nails digging in. I screamed. She slapped my face. Then she stormed downstairs like nothing had happennd. I scrunched down inside my body on my hard bed. What had I done now?
1 swetshirt later I was down with her. The new bruises burned underneath my long sleeves.
"Stupid," my mom mutterred.
She meant me.
I opened the fridge to find nothing. I sighed and turned to Mom. "Did you buy food?"
This could get ugly.
"NO MONEY!!!" she yelled. "Adelyn Robert Smith, get a job. Support yourself instead of dedicating yourself to brain shrinking Tumblr. You are 16 years old for goodness sakes!!!"
Do not question my middle name. Or brain size.
"I swear I'm gonna get rid of you as soon as possible bitch." She muttered and yet I knew she indented for me to hear it.
The words hit me like a tidal wave. And my green eyes suddenly wanted to form one of their own.
I'm such an idiot, I thought.
"I apologize Mother. I'll get a job at Chick-fil-a or somthing soon. I'll support myself. I promise."
"You better," she muttered. She continued to glare at me while I filled my water bottle with the bad tasting tap. Narrowed her eyes at me as I slung my backpack over my shoulder.
"Bye Mom."
She hissed.
