Notes:

This story will be one of the many stories in the series "The Blade of The Living Aspect of The Infinite". As the tags state that this will be a slow burn and this story itself is just the pre-relationship. I'm saying this just in case it wasn’t all that well said in the tags since I am still quite new and don’t think I did all that well with the tags. And please keep in mind that this is my first ever fic written and published. Thank you and enjoy your reading!

Chapter 1: Manny Disruptions ⚞Alastor's POV⚟

Chapter Text

Alastor’s  POV

Seeing the all mighty king get easily trapped, sure did surprise Alastor. The thought of the man who has lived for over ten thousand years having the spatial awareness of a giant panda, really did surprise him. He, at the very least, thought that the small man would still be conscious of his surroundings. Even if it was his ‘daughter’ who called him over. Not only did he not do that, but the short king willingly stepped on the very obvious X ‘disguised’ as a trap.

But before they were both left alone by their captor, The Radio Demon had to endure a lot.

Al instantly got bored with the little dispute brewing between the two in front of him. He tuned out everything that was said, not wanting to waste the little energy he had.

The demon was swiftly pulled out of his trance by a dim light in the corner of his range of vision. “Interesting…” The man said inwardly. His manic grin only grew at the sheer thought of it.

And it was just as he had expected, the great ruler of all the rings of hell had already sought his liberation.

But Alastor, the all so gracious man that he is, did have to give credit for his majesty's first attempt of escape. Shapeshifting out of the bulky cuffs was clever. A swirl of metallic light encasing the comically small man. And then landing on the egged shaped cage floor, shapeshifting back to his natural form. Even though it would have been the first thing Al would have done, he was truly in awe of the angelic power demonstrated before him. The golden glow that had engulfed the king, not too long ago, was now little specks of tinkling lights dancing around him. The sight of him the pure magical ability was beautiful. Alastor would never say it to his face, not even to a portrait of him, the thought of it alone was enough.

A few seconds had passed before the alarms loudly ranged out to alert the monarch’s newly found freedom. It seemed that the cuffs had some sort of motion sensor. Only sending a signal to its mother board if, and only if, it doesn’t sense its captive hands or feet any more. But of course Alastor wouldn't have even thought of that if it weren’t for the hotel’s newest addition. Due to his stubborn insistence on not adapting to the new world of technology, he had only now been taught of the subject for Charlie’s sake only. Lucifer then pried one of the cuffs and slammed it against the angle-proof glass. Growing angrier by each hit he threw at the cage. His raw display of emotions was theatrical itself, and his demon form slightly peaking out only seemed predictable. The easily enraged Fallen only stopped his tirade at the sound of hurried steps coming towards them.

The employees of Voxtek quickly came to the scene and, to Al’s shock, Vox followed suit. Walking up to them was a twisted sight. He was barely holding it together. The calm and collected facade was no longer on his face. Now he bore a grimace, barely visible under the  glowing and glitchy face he now wore, screen? Whatever, all the deer knew that the CEO of Voxtek was angry, no, furious at the sight of Lucifer’s half escape. Honestly, Vox was always so pressed about him not wanting to join him back then, but never asked him why. And, well. It was his outbursts.

“Oh come on!” His voice wore a distorted sound, but still managed to wear a winning tone, and his whole face started to glitch even more than before. If that’s even possible. He stepped closer to the cage. Glaring down at the short man that was now sitting comfortably on its ground. Still holding on to the half demolished restraint that was now sparking due to the damage.

“Again with the dramatics.” Alastor growled slowly, honestly grew tired of Vox’s repetitive antics. And only hoped that his plan doesn’t get soiled by The King’s appearance.

“What? Did you really expect me to just stay in this cage? Patiently waiting for you to do whatever, please tell me you didn’t! After all, it’s an idiotic conclusion, now isn’t it?” His shortness proclaimed with a tinge of annoyance in his voice. Almost as if the whole thing was only an inconvenience. Not a bad situation.

“Oh, how clever. Now, do you have any other reason for breaking my machine!?”

“Bet ya didn’t even build it! Looks astronomically more advanced and efficient than the other bull you manage to create.” The king retorts quietly while looking at his nails, claws? Whatever. Tilting his head, feigning innocence to further mock the glitching screen.

Voxtek’s head then stuttered a laugh and doubled over, clearly losing his mind by the clear thought of his plan falling apart. It was deranged and unnecessary if you’d asked Alastor. Truly exaggerative. If a mere comment was enough to make him drop his facade now? He was clearly at his breaking point.

Finally calming down and rearranging his stupid little hat, Vox barked out a round of orders to his employees. That started scrambling to do as they were told. Tripping over each other to get it done quickly enough for them to not endure any sort of punishment.

His assistant, who was quietly waiting on the side, trembling slightly, was practically shoved near the control panel that was connected to the glass enclosure.

“Watch over the soon to be former king Ethan. Wait for Camila and her subordinate to come check this thing out.” He said in a deadpan tone, fixing his eyes on the now smoking machine. “And try, oh so carefully to make sure they don't persuade you into whatever.” Vox dismissively added as looking back at his two captives, and then swiftly stepping away to make many phone calls.

“Pathetic,” said the voice next to the very red man.

“Says the man who fell for the simplest trick in the book.” Alastor snapped. “Speaking of falling…”

“Excuse me, I-” He stopped himself before getting off track. “You and I know damn well who I’m talking about. How long has the TV been on edge?” The king growled in a hushed tone.

“Oh, now that's hard to say, my king.” Alastor replied, the smile he always kept grew at the question. “But I must say that he had gone off the rails a very long time ago, but now,” The demon continued, clearly waiting on the king to finish his sentence. Wanting to know if they were on the same page.

“he’s more than just on edge.”

“Oh, how ever so sharp of you to come to that conclusion, your grace!”

“How sweet of you, Alastor. Honestly, don't you ever get tired? ‘Cause Charlie sure does! And-” Though, of course, the undersized king continued but the Overlord did not listen. His flashy antagonising grin was more present than ever. Lucifer was still continuing his aggravation, which wasn’t working, but he sure didn't leave Al any room to speak.

But, that didn’t matter. Not to Al, since he was more cooped on the fact that he had said his name. And it did come to his advantage. Due to his awestruck stance, he could simply not think of anything else to say at that very moment. The man that was known, in the hotel, to never remember anyone's name no matter how many times repeated. To the point where they just let it be as it was. Said his name. Which made him feel something, something other than the throbbing pain in his still very open wound. Looking at the ongoing smirk on Lucifer's face, he wonders if he could just stay as is. A radiant source of light. A sight that he was hardly graced to see himself. This was surely due to his divorce with The First Lady Lilith, but still held on to the ring. And now that he was thinking about it, the king no longer wore the ring he adored. But not only was he not wearing his wedding band, his grace was truly radiating light. In the dimly lit murderous looking building, the monarch shone the brightest.

Shocked and bewildered by his own train of thought. A dark expression decorated his face, Alastor’s smile was twisted and his ears were now tucked back, desperately hiding his flushed state. It was a sad attempt but at the least, it might salvage what's left of his dignity after being stuck in the V’s tower. But thankfully, Lucifer was more focused on him winning an argument he participated in the most by 90%.

Of course, Alastor had no clue why he was so smug and could clearly see that Lucifer was soon to open his mouth to add on. But his grace’s grin quickly vanished, as if it was never there to begin with. Looking intently in the direction of the two big doors he had entered before his capture. Waiting for something. The Radio Demon took a glance at the double doors and looked back at the ruler. A puzzled expression was plastered on his face, not knowing what the king was playing at until he heard it himself. Hurried step, faster than the ones they had heard earlier.

The both of them were now fixated on the double doors. Waiting for them to burst open and reveal what’s behind them. As always, that chain of thought was interrupted by not the doors being thrown off its hinges. But,the grating noise of metal being rubbed together was far louder.

“What?” Lucifer exclaimed defensively, noticing that everyone was now staring at him.

“My machine…” Uttered Odette, watching as The Devil bent the large piece of metal in his hand even further than he already had.

“He wasn’t kidding.” Said Camilla, still in a fighting stance she came in with. Obviously, she was waiting for a fight. Thinking that Lucifer had fully escaped.

“Now why would I be kidding?” A voice that belonged to no other than Vox said from the balcony. “So, you brought the rope?”
