She never expected it to turn out like this: waking up as the big spoon to one of her teammates as he dreamed. And he is dreaming, Raven can tell- he does that thing dogs do, where they windmill their legs and make soft, worried noises. Raven’s never had a dog, but she’s seen TV, and apparently that’s what they’re like.
“Down, boy,” she tells him, rubbing his arm. Her voice is worn with disuse from sleeping so long.
Beast Boy quietens slowly, and tilts his head towards Raven. His chest rises and falls, and Raven hesitates before laying a hand on it, feeling his lungs expand and then contract.
This was not the plan, but then again, nothing has gone to plan.

Summary
When a surprise attack leaves Alastor dying and only Lucifer around for immediate intervention, it’s all on Lucifer to save his (stupid complicated sexy) rival. In the aftermath of the attack, they’ll need to find the unknown assailant before the next strike – while also saving Alastor before he succumbs to what he’s been hiding.
All these unexpected new pieces spell out more troubles and questions than answers for Lucifer, and there’s little he loathes more than complications. If he needs to force Alastor or the assassin into revealing the truth, he’ll do it through whatever means necessary. At least, those are his intentions, and nothing can unravel them, right?

Alastor huffed a small chuckle, “No need for apologies, especially since I chose to engage in these petty squabbles just as much as you did.“
“So… how come you hated me at first?” Lucifer asked eventually, drumming his fingers lightly on the table.

After the rather… eventful week the hotel residents have faced, Alastor and Lucifer find themselves entering a tentative truce to be less aggressive towards each other.But, as Alastor realizes the king could help him with his… leftover problem from Adam, he formulates a plan that causes them to grow closer in a way neither expected.
