Chapter Text
The invitation of an extended hand. One that Volt had offered many, many times before to just about all of their patrons. It was his job, after all, to be the club's charming host. To make all who entered feel welcome. Wanted.
There was something different about you.
Not to say that Volt didn't want you to feel welcome or wanted; quite the contrary. The difference was in the way you didn't accept his invitation immediately. You paused, and it was that which captured Volt's attention. It wasn't a thoughtless choice you made, but rather a considered one. One that you thought through carefully before accepting.
Still, it was an acceptance. Despite any hesitance you might have had, you gave him a chance.
And oh, Volt ensured that he utilized every scrap of the chance you'd granted. The hesitance in your eyes vanished as his fingers curled gently around yours and he bent to brush his lips across your offered hand. Your cheeks caught aflame within seconds. Volt noticed; of course he did. How could he have missed it when his eyes remained fixated upon you, and had ever since you'd appeared before him? He'd called you striking, and he'd meant it. And now it was not only your appearance that captivated him, but your reactions to him as well. The way your eyes widened at the kiss to your hand, the way you flinched just so when the static coursing through him made the jump from his body to yours.
The way you didn't pull away from him, even upon feeling the small shock.
Only minutes after meeting you, and Volt was hooked. Mind buzzing with thoughts of how to draw such reactions from you again. How to please you. How to impress you and encourage you to keep coming back to him, to the club. After all, gaining the favor of the homeowner could only possibly be a benefit to both himself and Eddie, right?
(That personal desire played a part in his reasoning was a small detail he chose to ignore.)
Volt's lips curled into a smile against your skin just before he pulled away, garnering a soft hitch of breath from your throat. The sound warmed his circuits as soon as it found its home inside him, and he just barely prevented his eyes from fluttering in bliss. The current that flowed into his cheeks would already do quite enough to betray his feelings to you.
He straightened, eyes still locked on yours, your fingers still enfolded in his. His smile widened, warm and genuine.
"It's a pleasure to officially make your acquaintance."
