It was a blissful summer morning, there was slight haze ahead when the captain pulled into the dock. He was known as Pop off Pirate, a fierce captain with no remorse for those who got in their way. As the ship reached the dock, he leaped down onto the soft grass below. He was clearly eager for something, but what was it? He had come all alone on the ship and without his vast crew of various crooks for once. He took a deep breath of the warm summer breeze and sat under a tree in the quiet meadow. The sun gazing down upon him, just hitting his face providing a soft amount of warmth to it.
Taking a look around him, he scanned for whoever he was going to be meeting at this hour. This small scan of the area quickly turned into admiring the beauty of the sea shore until eventually they heard someone calling their name from behind them, causing them to become alert and swiftly jolt back around. Though quickly, they recognised the voice of who was calling to them. It was that oddly comforting voice that he always felt wrong about feeling comfort in. Approaching him carefully was an odd friend, Sailord from the Stonesurgeon.
Sailord was always by the docks down at the Stonesurgeon yet today he had silently left to come and meet the pirate here in this quiet meadow behind the tall cliffs that separated the different lands. He was always described as a dapper yet powerful man with many faces. Just as he would be described to anyone who defeated him, it was true after all. Another note worthy fact that anyone would quickly notice was his face was always stern, you could never tell how he actually felt about anything.
Before he could even speak, Pop Off Pirate led him towards the tree he had found, rapidly explaining to him how he was certain it was the best spot in the meadow. Any spot was the best really as nothing inhabited the god damn place but they both decided to agree on that particular spot. They both sat down on the soft grass, leaning carelessly on the tree as the duo just looked at the sun for a minute.
"So, what it like bein' a sailor at the minute?" Pop Off Pirate suddenly declared.
"Still hard." Sailord muttered
During the short break in conversation, Pop Off Pirate cautiously began to lean on Sailord as if he wouldn't notice. Though, Sailord did clearly notice and he gently placed his hand upon Pop Off Pirate's thigh.
"I can see." Sailord just stated.
"I do know." Pop Off Pirate uttered back as he began to readjust his posture again.
"I've been David" The Sailor just replied back shallowly as he pulled his hand back to his side, just realising what he had done himself, muttering as he did so under his breath.
Pop Off Pirate stared vaguely at Sailord in confusion before turning back to look ahead, wrapping an arm around Sailord. Though, Sailord did not mind, he felt some sort of strange sense of warmth and safety but refused to acknowledge it. Yet he still shuffled closer to Pop Off Pirate, to the point where they were basically nearly hugging eachother like two fucking idiots trying to get in an American rom-com.
The duo soon returned to silence as both really did not know what to say, though Pop Off Pirate was mumbling to himself the whole time while leaning slightly on Sailord. They knew Sailord could hear, he just wasn't bothered enough to think in his head really and this was supposed to be a social occasion where the two could perhaps talk. It was still decent at least though despite being awkward.
Pop Off Pirate wasn't just looking for that new boat he asked for like Sailord thought.
"It's 50,000 for the new Pirate Boat you want." Sailord inquired after the pause of conversation.
Pop Off Pirate responded "Well ye know I always have the price memorised!" He chuckled slightly after the statement to try relieve some tension.
"I am aware of that, I've been Simon" The Sailor replied instantly.
"You be the best seller they got here." Pop Off Pirate stated, lowering their volume slightly "I always get me boats only from you."
Sailord nodded, slowly reaching for a bag to take the gold from Pop Off Pirate, which was most likely stolen but he did not give two fucks. As he did, he began to gesture for the payment. He began to also slide the bag closer to the pirate.
"I got the payment, do not worry!" Pop Off Pirate cooed.
He began dropping the gold strategically into the bag while mumbling away to himself again, though some of the conversation caught the sailor's attention, it seemed almost nervous which was not usual at all for a fierce pirate captain known for combat. The background seemed to blur as the two only began to focus on each other and obviously the fucking payment for the pirate ship. Without realising, Sailord was now directly staring at Pop Off Pirate who was clearly disturbed in some way with that same fuckass stern expression that was only slightly softened.
"Did I get somethin' wrong in thar payment?" Pop Off Pirate uttered nervously.
"No, just wondering why you are nervous." Sailord replied coldly, without even realising.
"Well, jus wonderin' if-" Pop Off Pirate whispered.
"I've been David you can tell a secret" The Sailor whispered back as he adjusted his hat slightly, leaning in closer to hear the pirate.
"Well jus I been thinkin, what if you was more then maybe a sellar to me?" Pop Off Pirate whispered back as his heart hammered against his chest, pounding on his ribs.
"Like a friend, I been a friend." The Sailor replied back in a hushed tone.
Pop Off Pirate braced themselves before taking the big stretch, the same way they would before battles when they first began as a young lad with stick and stone. Yet back then he bets he would not have been scared if he had a bullet and a gun.
"More thar friend or what known as best friend," He uttered back, keeping his tone hushed and low as he dug his grip desperately into the grass below. He prepared to bolt for it and sail far away if it went wrong as he had already paid for a new boat.
"I think-" Sailord paused to think, leaving the pirate on a cliff hanger like it was some sort of fucking horror movie. "Yes, I think so." Sailord whispered back.
Soon after, the decision led to a very long staring contest, both in shock that the other had agreed without conflict. The wind swirled around them as the sun was setting without the duo even realising at all until they turned to face ahead, finally accepting what the fuck just happened.
"Thar he might want to leave soon" Pop Off Pirate said, pointing vaguely at his ship which was still there, bobbing gently in the warm summer sea.
Sailord nodded, standing up as the two held hands tightly before Pop Off Pirate leaned in, lightly kissing him on the cheek as the sun finally set before they both part ways. They exchanged glances and waves before the two fully departed though. They would both definitely meet here again, but not just for sales or trades with stolen money.
Yet everyone still fucking wonders why Pop Off Pirate has that stupid discount.
