Will’s smile, lighting up his days. Will’s eyes, holding his gaze while they spoke without words. The way he fidgeted when he was nervous or excited, wanting to get his hands on a pencil or paintbrush and just create until the art seeped out of him in beautiful strokes on a page.
Mike looked at Will then, and made a choice. And maybe it was the beer, or the anxiety over the past couple days, or the newness of feeling single again, or maybe it was him just being plain fucking dumb, because he was. He was always an idiot.
